Inside, it feels like you're transported somewhere magical. Books literally line everywhere you go and I loved being able to crane my neck all the way back and see books going upwards towards the roof. It is easy to figure out the sections, they have history, art, literature and a variety of other genres to look around at. I found a old edition of The Silence of The Lambs and had to buy it. The book was in very nice condition and very reasonably priced for what it was! I will say, if it's busy like it was when I was there, you will have to scooch past people multiple times because the two rows of books are basically only large enough for one person standing sideways. A gorgeous and reasonably priced bookstore that you need to see in person to truly appreciate it like I did!

With the premium membership, you are also entitled to discounts on your snacks. This bookstore has a DVD and movie area as well. They're filled out wall to wall with comics, collectibles, figures & even have a RPG space set up. I've been to stores that heavily favor one category like super heroes, for example, while leaving all the other genres hanging. PPF however, has one of the best selection of varieties in my opinion. They're loaded with DC, Marvel, TMNT, horror, manga & also carry some niche ones. I also appreciate how they stay up to date on weekly & monthly releases with a section dedicated to them. Prices are solid & they often have a couple limited/exclusive variants. These are a bit overpriced but sometimes it's better to get them in person & support local rather than online & deal with shipping. Years ago, customer service was a bit iffy but recently it's been nothing but great. They greet you right away, have no issues answering questions & act like they appreciate your business. This is a great place to check out if you're a fan of pop culture, comics, figures or books in general. It's really hard to stop by & not leave with something in hand.

The Curl Doula is located along Stirling Rd. behind Crystal Vision in a big brown gazebo looking building called Treehouse Beauty Suites. Parking is limited. The inside of the building was nicely decorated with antique furniture and had a few rooms where individuals run their independent business. Deanna, who specializes in natural hair and coloring, is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about curly hair and techniques on how to care for your natural curls. Before she began the wash service, she examined my hair and asked about my hair routine. Then she discussed what I was doing wrong and gave me tips on how to embrace my natural curls and how to properly care for my hair to achieve healthy hair & growth. She even showed me before and after pics of her clients. I can honestly say, the experience I had with Deanna, I never had with any other hair stylist. She took her time cleansing my hair with a gentle scalp massage while slowly running her fingers through my hair. She showed me how tightly coiled my natural curls were and how soft my hair was becoming. I was amazed. My hair was left to air dry to lock the curls in place. I have never sported my natural curls before so it will take some getting used to. I will practice Deanna's hair care tips and keep watch on my hair's progress.
