Centered in a busy shopping mall, with convenient access to 5 below and Marshall's, as well as Walmart right across the way, I was pretty surprise to find it here and yet not so surprised since you can get most of your shopping for you and your kids done in one parking space. This store has your typical top selling games for xbox and ps4/5. If you need something and they don't have it, it's going to be ordered. Masks are on and there are indications of standing in line with good social distancing. The service I found was very friendly. They knew right away what I was asking for. Sara is a terrible person. to start off me and my family absolutely love mario so we were so excited to see they had a mario day coming up! So after my 10 hour shift at the hospital saving lives I took my two kids (12 and 10) to my local gamestop (44412 Valley Central Way ste B Lancaster, CA 93536 United States) and my 12 year old was wearing a mario odyssey hat and white gloves with a mustache and my 10 year old had the original mario hat on and gloves and they picked out some games but when we went to check out Sara said that "they did not qualify for the $5 off because they were not in costume" and that made me very upset i spent my hard earned money on mario hats and gloves just to participate. Sara was very rude about it and ruined the overall expedited of gamestop for us. Both kids walked out crying upset because of sara's terrible attitude and terrible customer service. Nearly a year later and it's still the same deal. This store doesn't have "hours" so much as it operates on RNG. It's random whether or not it'll be open when you go during the store's posted business hours. Don't bother pre-ordering from this location, they're going to be open when you come to pick up your item within posted business hours. I'm usually here with my fiancé checking out games for the switch or Xbox or PlayStation (because one or two game systems are not enough) but I have come in on my own on occasion to get surprise gifts for him. The employees have always been super polite and helpful and patient with me. One mayyyy have spoiled his secret of preordering a game I was coming in to get him but it saved me for getting him something he already was getting for himself. It's my sons birthday on the 27th of July and I have been looking everywhere for an elite Xbox controller my best friend bought a new one at this location and when I went to get him the same one they want to charge the same amount for a used one, now why would I pay the same price for a used one when I can get new for same. It is very frustrating I have called all the locations in the antelope valley and the phone just rings and rings. Although the staff is knowledgeable and helpful, the store itself is terribly understaffed, especially on weekends. Expect long lines and wait times for service, and pray you don't go in during one of the employee's lunch or break times because you will have an extra long wait. Hopefully this was just an aberration, but the other day when I was in with my son, one clerk was at the register, 3 people were in line, and the other clerk was doing inventory instead of helping customers at the registers. You'd think with the money that pours into this store, that they'd hire an extra employee, but I guess when you have a captive clientele, your profits are more important than your customers. May I suggest better training for their floor employees. I was approached by a floor employee and he asked me if I was looking for any particular game. I was browsing the Xbox One area and he asked me if I own an Xbox One. I said yes and his immediate response was, "You made a bad decision"...That is a really good way to keep your customers from coming back by telling them that they are wrong. If the manager of this store reads this, please train your employees to be more objective when it comes to the customers and their preferences on gaming consoles. It is not your employees job to tell customers what a bad decision they made, but rather help them in finding what they came to the store for. Needless to say, I will not be going to this Game Stop. I have gone to this Game Stop on a few occasions. I have always enjoyed the friendly staff and the welcoming environment. Being a little bit of a nerd I like to come here from time to time. However. today I came here to pick up Resistance 2 for PS3 and I did not encounter a friendly environment. Upon picking up the game I walked up to the counter to ask a question. I got scolded for not standing behind a taped line on the floor. The line had faded so badly that it wasn't noticeable. I told them that the line needs to be redone only to have the associate make a comment about me not being able to see. When I went to use 5 dollar credit that I had for a pre-order, I was not only carded but I was interogated on why I didn't want the pre-order and as to why I'd pre-order something that I didn't pick up in the first place. Today I did not feel welcome, but I actually felt like I was being accused. It's not something that I like to experience just trying to do a simple transaction of picking up a game.
