Went in and preordered a game. They said it would take about a week to come in. A month and a half goes by so I go in to talk to them to see if they just forgot to call me. I get in there and they tell me someone sold my copy. Instead of waiting again I just ask for a Refund. The guy couldn't figure out how to refund me since I paid cash?! So he orders me another copy of the game and says it should be in the store in a week and they will call me. He verified my phone number. Weeks go by so I call in to check rather than driving 45 minutes to find out they don't have it. The guy on the phone said they don't have it because someone sold it!! I tell him this has already happened and he sees when I originally preordered. He promises to order the game and make sure he calls. The store calls within a week this time. I go into the store to pick up and I guess third times a charm. They struggle to find it but at least it was there. I know to only order games online now. Not sure what happened to this store that I used to live so much. Sad. read more

Love GameStop! Great service here in Hawaii. Can't say the same for Washington tho! One of the employees back in Washington took advantage of my low knowledge of Pokemon cards and somehow traded me a very low graded card worth about .48 cents for the card. And he took my Charizard without me knowing that's worth $60 raw! I was so furious but I stay|d away from there for karma will get him for me. Until we meet again my Charizard! read more

The quality of products available here is crap. The manager is a really terrible person. This place is a pigs stye & the service here sucks. I'd rather wait to travel off island to Oahu and get to a GameStop store over there then to ever do business here again. Don't support this store!!! No core values what so ever! read more

Workers are definitely rude, any questions asked gets an attitude in return. That's Hilo for you though, bottom of the barrel.

Rude workers had to just leave because it felt wrong to ask questions without getting an attitude towards me. Frustratingly just left...

What's Samus' favorite food? Metroid Prime Rib! GameStop: What used to be an altar of worship for gamers across the country. Not to say that it isn't still relevant today, because it is. Although there isn't as much need for us gamers to go down to the store to pick up games, what with the digital download age upon us, it's still really nice to know that you can always head down to GameStop to talk games with the employees or just pick up a new one to try out. Located in Prince Kuhio Plaza, the Hilo GameStop is in a very central location in town, near a bunch of other stores. Significant other doing boring clothes shopping in Macy's and you need to chillax for an hour or three? Just dip into GameStop for a bit! I mean, to get away with that would be a miracle, but you get what I'm sayin'. All jokes aside though, this store really is located in a very convenient place in town. Parking is rarely an issue, since there are numerous parking lots all around the mall. The vast majority of the employees here are very nice and helpful, whatever it is that you need help with. They tend to be quite serious about their jobs and do their best to help you make informed decisions. However, if it gets slow around there, they're almost always down to talk games with ya! The only complaint I have is that the store is a little small in size. It doesn't really affect selection or anything like that, considering it's wall-to-wall games and gaming accessories in there; I just wish there were more for my gamer side to indulge in. Overall though, this is a great store for hardcore and casual gamers alike. I'd strongly suggest you stop by if you're interested in starting a gaming career, or if you're already a seasoned gamer like myself! read more

GameStop - Games on games on games! We havin' to rebuild the collection for current gen consoles! - Video Game Stores Near Me - Hilo, Hawaii

Worst store ever. Waited 2hrs before 7am black friday this morning promised by Manager that there were 6 copys lefts of the spiderman ps4 combo. Completely false advertisement and totally illegal, because there wasn't even one copy for Black Friday. I think the Manager that promised me the ps4 name was Trevor. Wouldn't recommend going here. I would buy from Amazon instead read more

Horrible customer service, went in looking for something & walked right out. Tip: When a paying customer walks into your place of work don't say "Wassup!?" Try saying "Good morning, I'll be right with you." for starters. read more

Not even a star but needed to pick one in order to post review. So I order a Pokémon Nintendo oled on line 2 in stock left, ok so paid for it got receipt emailed than it said wait for a email to be picked up. So the next day I go to check if I got a email nothing yet so I decided to check on website where's my order at? Lord and behold it states cancel like wth so I wait until the store to open to see what was going on. So the guy who answered said it was cancel due to pre orders that needed to be fulfill first which is understandable, but really well than they should've have said out of stock in the first place not knowing how much was coming in yet the best one was he said oh yeah my manger had pre order one to so it needed to be canceled, so you telling me out of all people my order got cancelled cause your manager ordered one like really!!! Well my thoughts are that your manager should've waited for the next shipment to come in, instead canceling someone's order very very poor customer service. Never to shop here again. read more

Personally Alexis and Savannah have always been so kind! Have helped my Hubsand and I all the time and we've never had a problem. All of these review are old and probably the customers fault in the first place. Let's be honest at least sexism isn't still alive and well. It's refreshing to see women working in gamestop! Not to mention they all actually play video games and do their job correctly! I sincerely believe it's one of the best game stops I've been too and since I pick up at least a game or two every 2 weeks. I'd say it's pretty fair game ( pun intended ) that they know their shit. read more

Purchased a ps4 controller from here checked my bank statement and was charged 3 times for one controller on top of that did not get my money back yet it's bin almost 2 months. The customer service is bad. read more

Cashier was very short with me, barely let me finish my questions before he cut me off, like I was taking up too much of his time. This is the second time I've gone in there and had the same experience with the same cashier. Bad place to go if you're a newbie like I am and just getting into gaming, and want to ask questions about consoles and games before dropping hundreds of dollars. Excuuuuuuuse me! LOL! I'll stick to Lanihau Center game stop where they actually pretend they enjoy their job and welcome questions because they're actually excited to share what they know. read more
