I ordered Dragonage Veilgaurd Rooks Coffer edition, it was supposed to come with several items including a litho print. The game and the litho print were missing from the box. I contacted GameStop corporate to be told that they will replace the game but the litho print was a BioWare offering and that GameStop contracted BioWare to make the Rooks Coffer Collectors Edition, and that I needed to contact them. I did, and they told me GameStop falsely advertised the Rooks Coffer Edition and that it wasn't supposed to come with a litho print despite very clearly advertising that it does. Now GameStop is ignoring me and won't return messages or calls. I have hired an attorney and we are pressing this in both state and federal court against both companies BioWare and GameStop. read more

Gamestop has refused to even respond to my emails. I have had PSA submissions in a shipped status since 7 Jan 2025 and they refuse to even provide an updated status. I have other cards that were sent after this that were gradded and picked up already. My local store is great, but the customer service is absolutely incompetent. I keep getting the same old story (canned responses) "check you local store" That is there job to provide info not my job to find it. I simply asked for an updated status on my PSA submission and they cant even or do not care to take 5 mins and look the information up. In my opinion GameStop policy is to make it as hard as possible to get information hoping that customers will stop and just give up and they get your money. It would be really easy for them to "steal your graded cards" to resell at a higher profit and just refund you at the lower ungraded value. I am currently looking a what it will take to file a class action lawsuit against the company based on the shear amount of reviews and comments about PSA submission through GameStop and there complete lack of assistant, and failure to fairly compensate when cards are lost. The last 4 submission i sent all came back as PSA 10 and if they lost my cards then they should provide market value at PSA 10 not ungraded amount. read more

Gamestop's customer service regarding online orders is a scam. My order was placed on Tuesday morning and shipped out the same night. It was scheduled to be delivered to me on Friday and ended up getting lost in the mail. Gamestop.com is entirely unreliable as it pertains to a PRE-ordered item. I have now pre-ordered video games from gamestop.com. The first: COD - received it 3-4 days after the release date. NOW...currently I am still waiting on the game Dead Space which released on 01/27. I pre-ordered it on 12/11, it released on 01/27...it is today 02/03...still no update, no game and the customer service line will just disconnect you when you decide to wait for an agent. They sent me an email on 1/31 saying the package is on its way but the order # noted was bogus, not even the correct count of digits - so needless to say that was worthless and still no update, no game. I've learned my lesson. Don't PRE order anything from GameStop.com. Either wait for the release date and then get it, or PRE-order from another retailer that cares. read more

So I take it this is the main corporate headquarters. The other previous reviews doesn't mention anything about store clerks and etc. and looking at the place on google maps, this does not appear to be a big shopping center. This is directed to the whole company and the CEO. Here's what I have to say about the iphone app and the website. The prices show the same for cash and credit for trade ins. Normally you'd expect something lower for cash. Take for instance a dualshock 4 black controller. On the app it's both $27 cash or trade. When you get to the store, in this case in California in Tracy, I only got back $21.60, thats $5.40 less. I asked the clerk about this and unfortunately I didn't bust out the app with this information but, she said it's because of some boolshyte California consumer law that is in effect. It used to be honored both same cash as credit but GameStop got sued. I don't know if this is just a bullshyte statement and this was supposedly a recent email Memo they got that they can't do the same cash as credit. So I sucked it up and took the cash anyway. I told this to my friend/coworker and he calls bielshoot too. Now for battlefield 1 for PS4 , they both show as $22 cash or credit. My friend somehow got the $22 anyways IN CASH. I don't understand why my arse gotjipped. I called other gamestops and they give me the same bs story of why the cash is low and its exclusion is California for the same cash as credit deal. Fine, called GameStop of Las Vegas in Clark county, the clerk said there is no cash option for trade at all just store credit. So, if the developers can gtfo their butts and correct this on the app and add a geolocation feature that will show what the trade price is in cash, that would be a big help. Instead of hiding the small print. Or if on the website, have a damn prompt to have the zip code put in. Claiming that the carrier they chose is the party responsible(FedEx), FedEx is claiming without any proof that the product was delivered. I work from home, specifically from my garage in front of my home. I was home the entire day of April 24 and did not receive any packages from fedex, going threw the red tape set forth by the carrier and shipper both whom do not any responsibility for the terrible customer service that I have received have left me without my money or product. Literally robbed from both acting parties. I'm telling anyone whom will listen, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM GAMESTOP, THEY ARE THIEVES. They have stolen my money and refuse to acknowledge any wrong doing. The manager of the customer services, David, employee number C114538 personally informed me of his inability to perform any corrections of this matter. GameStop has stolen my money without any explanation or acknowledgments towards wrong doing, they purposely ignored my request to get a refund and are dragging their feet when given every opportunity to make this right. Wolfenstein The New Order. It would not load, only to 46%. I tried it on (2) PS 3 machines, same fault, Hangs 46%. I tried it 3 times on both machines. I wish I could leave negative stars. Brace yourself, this is a long review but not as long as having to experience this for yourself. If you try to order online at Gamestop, especially during their sales periods, prepare to get your order cancelled. At this point I've made 13 different orders over the course of 4 days. 11 have been cancelled with no explanation, 1 sent, and 1 pending. I've had at 4+ customer service calls to Gamestop (not including the calls to my banks) with a total wait time of ~2 hours (not including the amount of waiting they make you do while you're talking to someone, their system is not very efficient). The worst part is it takes at least 24 hours (though my most recent one occurred at the 36 hour mark) for your order to process, meaning you will think your order will go through, just to have your hopes dashed. I'd honestly prefer a speedy cancellation over the kind that you wait 12+ hours for, especially since these deals are time sensitive. I know the subject line format for their cancellation email so well at this point because it has ruined my mood many times this weekend. The most common response they will give is an issue with your bank (not the issue, I've checked). At one point their customer service genuinely said there's nothing we can do, we don't know why your order cancelled, and suggested I use a different card or email. I've used THREE different forms of payment (how many do they expect me to have?) including Paypal. Even when using Venmo through Paypal and paying with my balance (aka no banks required), that still didn't go through. It's also a common response to just purchase it at a physical store but if that was a viable option, why would I have spent so much time trying to order it through the website? Not everyone lives close to your stores. This has been THE WORST customer experience I've ever had. The customer service is SO UNHELPFUL. If you're going to have an outdated system, at least know what's wrong with it so people can get help. Gamestop is too big of a company to be this incompetent. My experiences in store (back when I lived close to one) was fine but I will try my best to never spend money at Gamestop again after this. Currently I have $3,370 on hold for trying to make a $305 purchase. Thankfully I don't have any bills that need to be paid at this time while I wait for my two banks to reject these numerous STILL PENDING charges that Gamestop has automatically cancelled the orders for while still claiming the issue is on my financial institution's end. For the average consumer, they would have given up by now. You'd think after putting me through all this, I'd at least get some sort of discount compensation (I feel like this has cut 1-2 months from my life just from the stress and anger) but no, it's clear Gamestop as a corporation does not care about it's customers. I literally downloaded yelp app just to review this nonsense company! I purchased an xbox series X two weeks ago and it was supposedly delivered but at the time of delivery I was out of the country and never signed for it! Despite the fact that Fedex admitted that they lost the package and don't have my signature on file, Gamestop refused to replace the item and told me that the item was delivered and they have my signature on file( which is an automated signature generated by computer). I asked them to send me the proof of delivery but they refuse to do so! Now I have to pay 900$ without getting the console. This would never happen with Best Buy or amazon, do not buy from them cause if your package lost in transit, you still have to pay for it and they don't take responsibility. Was told they would send as soon as they received the old phone. 5 days later they received the old phone. No replacement was sent. After 2 weeks I asked for a refund. After 3 more weeks, I did not receive my refund, called and was told it was sent to me over a month ago. No correspondence that it was sent to me. I still have not received my $511 refund. I scraped up the money to pre order expecting to save some some money and be able to get ny controller on the release day. I ordered two Xbox one s's and when my package arrived at my home, what was inside? one PlayStation. I was dumbfounded how someone not only got the console wrong, but the quantity as well. I was worried, but thought just like any other company would do, that GameStop would resolve this. I was told to mail the PlayStation back to them and I did as soon as fedex opened the next morning. I was told my Xbox's would be shipped to me as soon as the PlayStation was scanned at fedex. After a few days of no email from them I called and waited on hold for over an hour. We were told that the Xbox's would be delivered to us within 7 days. When delivery day came, no Xbox's. My husband called the following day waiting on hold for oner an hour. A woman told him they would be here by the end of the day. My husband made his question as clear as possible. " so my two Xbox's will be at my house by the end of today?" The woman said " yes". They never came. I called the following day and waited on hold forever and was told by a man that our Xbox's couldn't have shipped before they received the PlayStation back and they had just received it the day before. I then asked so where are the Xbox's I paid for? He told me that a replacement had never been processed! But he was going to process it right then and there and submit it for expedited shipping. I was told I would receive an email within 24 hours and my Xbox's 2-3 days after the email with the order info and tracking number . Over 24 hours goes by...still no email. Call and wait on hold again, the man I spoke with tells me, "No you won't receive an email until your order ships"....I say so when is that? He tells me that it will ship the next day....the next day comes....guess what...still no email. Still NOTHING! This process has been exhausting. I can't believe the lies that I have been told over and over and over. If anyone is thinking about ordering something from them.....PLEASE DONT! The same day we called customer service to let them know. The representative on the phone told us we will receive a replacement within 3-5 days. On the 6th day... still no phone. I placed an online order with Gamestop on 4/24/20 that I finally had to cancel on 6/22/20. After numerous phone calls to follow-up on the order and countless hours of being on hold during this two month timespan enough was enough! Most of the calls had a representative on the other end that chose not to help at all, stating the item was on back order and had no knowledge of any further way to help. The THREE times I was able to convince someone to PRETEND like they were helping me, I was just blatantly lied to. I completely understand things being behind due to pandemic circumstances, but the manner in which business was conducted (or lack thereof) was astonishingly ridiculous. I was promised follow-up several times during this ordeal and never heard back from anyone either time. There was a real lack of concern for the customer and no real effort put towards resolving my issue. I felt that I had been extremely patient with this company and my many calls for a resolution should have been documented. I am highly displeased with my experience with Gamestop and will never place an order with them again. This review is for GameStop.com as they don't post an address and I can understand why. Their business practices leave much to be desired. Their customer service reps are both misinformed and have no knowledge of their own business or the way things are done. They claim preorders don't get charged until shipped yet the money is removed from your account 6 days prior to shipping the product. I don't know what world they live in but around here if your money is removed from the account whether it's cleared or on hold it's as good as gone. I preorder items frequently and it's very unprofessional when they cancel the order or tie up your money with their supposed processing procedure only to find out after the item is no longer available that you won't be receiving it. Many times I've waited for hard to find items I've preordered months in advance only to be disappointed by the fact that I put my trust a company that can't follow through with the order. What makes matters worse is when you call customer service to find out why they have the nerve to either give you a lame excuse or just straight out lie and say the item was never released when every other site has the exact same item for sale. Sometimes even GameStop exclusives which were "never" released pop up on other sites. It's easy to see why they're going out of business because these types of poor business practices only put them one step closer to the grave. Blaming EA for losing sales a few years ago was a joke and just shows how desperate they were to make excuses for their lack of skills to keep the company afloat. Just this week it was announced the company is looking for a buyer, good luck with that you'd have to be willing to throw your investment in the trash with their record.
