--Location/Parking-- Located off of 6th street. Near 3rd…read moreavenue. --Ambiance-- Great video game shop that is remanence of a Japanese book store. Everything is tightly packed and has a huge variety of selection. In the back corner there are some signed collectibles and a small case of highly valued video game history. --Service/Staff-- Staff was quick to help me in finding my selection. There are so much to look at in such a small space. They even talked about some of their suppliers which great to hear or not hear being a video game nerd myself. --Food/Products-- Walk to walk and every space is taken with video games. They have one of the largest PS Vita collection, PSP, new, used that I have ever seen. If you are looking for something. Chances are to look here first before trying to purchase it online --Capacity-- Since wall-to-wall video games. There can only be one person in each aisle since there is not enough room to walk past each other. I want to say. No more than 3-5 people can be in the store because of how tight it is. --Overall-- A great place to look for video games. Note some video games have been there for a while and might have some dust on them. I will swing by every time I am in NY.

As soon as I entered, the helpful staff explained where everything was located. Both people were…read morecool to interact with as I asked about certain games, where the new sealed games were located and where their loose games for each system were as well. The selection of Nintendo Switch games is unprecedented here! They have US games and foreign games that you'll never find at Target, Walmart or Best Buy. There aren't many retro gaming stores left in NYC, but this one has a few game options with good value. I visited another retro gaming store on the following day and their prices were too crazy high, even more than online. I returned here the next day to pickup some more games. This location helps you to sell and trade gaming gear too. Looking for that impossible Game Boy or GBA game? There's a high likelihood they have it here!

Digital Press Videogames - A vintage gamer's paradise!

Digital Press Videogames

I'd been to the Digital Press Videogames location in Clifton, which is awesome, and only discovered…read morethis location because my kid spotted it when we happened to drive past it. Vowing to return after our event, I brought two of my kids and one of their friends, and we all geeked out over the selection of vintage and used video games for practically every system released since the advent of the Atari 2600. The staff was super helpful in answering questions about legacy systems. There were plenty of amazing values on games from ColecoVision and original NES through the Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch 2 and everything in between. The coin-operated arcade games and pinball machines, with a few free options, were also a blast. Digital Press is an absolute treasure.

I am always in favor of independent game stores still out there buying and selling preowned games…read moreand not affiliated with GameStop. This I believe is the second location of the two Digital Press Videogame shops, if you're a gamer, you feel at home walking in. There are games and accessories from nearly every generation so if you're a collector and want to lay eyes on what you're looking for as opposed to online, it's a necessity to come here. There are operation arcade machines here from 80's to 90's including a few pinball machines. The counter has employees who of course are gamers and what game store wouldn't be complete without regulars who hang around and talk about games as well. As I browsed around the store I was taken back through all the generations which was a good feeling, knowing that stores like this still exist. I could go on about why DPV is a great store, but I'll go over my experience on my latest visit. I went to unload a few games I had no use for anymore and could not sell them alternatively on C-list and the like so I came here. I got a better amount than I thought both cash and store credit (store credit of course being a bit more). Again, if you're a gamer or someone looking for games from yester-year and want to avoid online, try here.

Bandai Namco Cross Store - The gachapon machines as of March 2025...

Bandai Namco Cross Store

Sunset Park

My wallet walked in with me...and never made it out…read more I went to the Bandai Namco Cross Store in Industry City thinking, "I'll just browse." That was my first mistake. The moment you walk in, it's like your inner child grabs your adult credit card and says, "We ride at dawn." There are Gunpla kits staring at you, shelves of figures judging you, and an entire wall of gashapon machines whispering, "Just one more spin...what's the worst that could happen?" (Answer: you leave with 14 tiny plastic characters and no regrets.) The place is super clean, well organized, and dangerously well-stocked. It's basically a mini Akihabara dropped into Brooklyn, except instead of jet lag, you just get financial regret and a bag full of anime merch you absolutely didn't plan to buy (but 100% needed). Highlights: * The gashapon area is basically a casino, but for anime fans. I blacked out and woke up holding capsules. * Tons of official merch--Gundam, One Piece, PAC-MAN--if Bandai touched it, it's probably here * Chill card game area where you can pretend you came to "hang out" and not spend money Only "downside": * It gets crowded, especially on weekends, which just means more witnesses when you say, "I'm not buying anything else" and immediately buy something else Overall, if you're even slightly into anime, gaming, or collectibles, this place is a must. Just set a budget...then double it...then accept your fate. I'll definitely be back--mostly because I'm pretty sure I left part of my paycheck there

This is a fun spot to check out if you're into anime, gaming, or collectibles.
