I stopped here right after opening to see if they had any Nintendo Switches in. I had been to 2 Gamestops the day before and both told me they got 5 in but were immediately out of stock.
Here's how the conversation went at this store:
Me: Hi, do you know when you'll be getting more Nintendo Switches in?
Girl: No, we don't know when.
Me: Did you get any in this week?
Girl: Yes, we got some yesterday but we're out of stock.
Me: Oh ok, how many did you get in yesterday?
Girl: Sorry, I can't tell you that.
Me: Huh? You can't tell me??
Girl: No, sorry, I can't disclose that information
Me: *puzzled* Why not? I was at 2 stores yesterday that had no problem telling me.
Girl then looks back at the male employee at the computer who then looks at me.
Guy: What does it matter now, right?
Me: Exactly, what does it matter then to say how many you got in stock?
Guy: We're not allowed to disclose that information. The other stores shouldn't have told you.

I couldn't help but laugh as I left the store. Even if that is somehow a store policy that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
Albeit a simple question, each store has been getting different quantities so any information would help me determine how I should go about trying to get one of these consoles.
The store had been opened for literally 4 minutes and there was not a single other person there. If it was the week before Christmas and I was bugging them with unnecessary questions then I could understand them not wanting to deal with me but what else could TWO employees in an empty store possibly need to do so urgently that they can't just humor me with a simple conversation. You would have thought I was asking them for the US nuclear codes. It's a game console people, lighten up! read more
