But upon arrival, I can tell that it was a pretty laid-back please. The desk clerk was very knowledgeable about the games and their history, as well as some nostalgic items that were available. They also have lots of Funko pops if you're into that type of thing. I even like the way they use the ticket gun to price various items in the store. It reminded me of the old school candy store with the little stickers label posted on it. The items look well cared for and wrapped very thoroughly and methodically. I believe lots of the items are fairly priced and not overwhelmingly expensive. I was most impressed with the miniature video game console that sat at the front counter that pre-dated the Atari. What surprise me most about this location is that they had a actual arcade in the back with various games from the 80s like contra, galaxa, pong, Qbert, dig, dug, streetfighter, or Pac-Man, and they even had a racing game. Even though it was not a very, very large arcade, It really did bring back quite a bit of memories.

There's a small arcade you can play at for 8 dollars a day and they offer some repair services too. I was able to have an old game of mine with a lot of sentimental value fixed here in like 15 minutes so i was really happy. I did purchase a NINTENDO 3DS used in 2017 and had very few successful interactions and pleasurable plays in part because the buttons are so small. So, I'm ignorant in gaming matters, but I freakin loved the 89's arcades and still get a shallow rise of that underlying childlike emotion when viewing titles, remembering what once was and as I walked into the store, the young owner was hard at work. I asked questions he cave answers to my handheld console thoughts - like "are they're any dumb down jump, kick, punch games?" I look at what my addicted nephews play and my head spins and my eyes twitch - so I turn left and BAM, there was ATARI stuff, such a wonderful nostalgic moment. PC big box games, NeoGeos, SEGA stuff, Pokemon cards and Flush and toys -- Gameboy Color - Advanced - GameCube and arriving at the 3DS games. I purchased a Pac-Man - Pacman World I believe as to not exit my classic comfort zone quite yet and a Donkey Kong who still looks pissed off since 1982, Donkey Kong Country as I recall.. Well, it had a problem 3 times mid-way through the install process, and I was never able to get the game installed on my ps5. I updated my ps5, and still it would not work tried to take the game back today, on day 7, and was told I could not return the game because they were able to install it on the store's ps5. So now Im out $20 and a game I cant play. So much for customer service. If you are out here in the market for a pre-played game, go to Gamestop, as R.U. Game does not honor their word. Basically they robbed me for $20. I will never buy from them ever again, and will let anyone know I can how they treat customers. Untrustworthy, dishonest and terrible customer service is all they offer.

It is awesome to see stores like this taking so much pride in preserving the physical media of the past. There is so much value in that and I for one truly appreciate this store. Also taking pride in this work are the staff. The pricing of a lot of the retro games is fair considering many of the games are no longer available and hard to come by. Retro games, especially ones that were popular back in the day, only grow in value as our nostalgic minds yearn to play our favorite childhood games again. Though I didn't end up buying any games (only because I was just in town for just a day or two), I did manage to play one of their Japanese coin machines. I am a HUGE Psyduck enthusiast and I saw one of their machines had a DANCING Psyduck toy in it! So, I got the appropriate coins from the cashier (they don't use regular coins). I only had enough for two items, so I did my first try and got a Wabbufet. Which is nice but it's NOT psyduck. I was nervous I wouldn't get my dancing duck but with hope in my heart and psyduck on my mind, I put my last coin in and turned the dial. After I heard the plastic ball capsule reach the dispense area I nervously reached for it. "Please be a dancing yellow duck" I said to myself... and I slowly opened the capsule and... A DANCING PSYDUCK WAS IN IT! I was so thrilled that I screamed lol it was so much fun and I just feel like this silly story does a great job at capturing the vibe of this location. Getting excited while connecting with our inner child. My inner child was healed a little more by the time I left Thanks to R U Game for the incredible service and the incredible experience. The dancing psyduck now sits safely on a shelf in my room where it routinely dances to Britney and Taylor songs lol
