Video game fans....THIS IS THE PLACE! The holy grail of Video game stores, they have everything. After someone at another shop suggested checking this place out, I obviously had to oblige. The place is big but not huge, but it is PACKED with stuff. From NES to PS5, imports, Atari, and more, you have a selection of games, accessories for absolutely everyone. The store is run in 2 different ways, they have their own selection of products and then they have their "consignment" area which are cases of products being sold by other collectors off property. It was like a Neverending treasure trove of vintage awesome. The cool thing about this spot is the other half of the building is an arcade where you can pay to play all day. The cost is reasonable but I didn't have the time to stay and check it out. I'll add it to the list for next time. The staff was friendly and informative. They were helpful when asked questions and gave us a ton of suggestions. If you're looking for a solid spot with a HUGE selection, this is it.

Brand new price for a used switch???

Just visited today looking for amiibos, and older Nintendo stuff. The amiibos were a little too much for me, but mostly in-line with eBay prices. There's a lot of vintage gaming items you can find here, and support a local business while you do it. There's also an arcade for all day play; I believe the price was $5 for a day pass. The game prices are cheaper than GameStop on used games like for the Nintendo Switch. I did think they were a little low on how much they would pay for an item. They said they usually pay around 25% if it's actual value. Not sure why anyone would sell something that cheap unless they really needed the money. For example they offered me $100 for Virtual Boy, when it's selling for $300 on eBay. I just assume sell it myself online. The staff was extremely friendly. The ambience in the store is really nice as well. Gaming music playing in the background. The store is well organized, with all sorts of gaming goodies, and even still in box items. The only gripe I have about the store is their consignment area. Almost half the store is laden with overpriced consignment items. People wanting WAY too much for their items. Like I saw a Nintendo Switch OLED used in a box, and the people wanted $349!! Um ... no, I can buy it brand new for that price. I would rather see them stop consignment all together, and put more normal priced items that they themselves are selling in that big area. Overall, it was worth the trip I'd say. It was very nostalgic to walk through the store, and see some of the things I had when I was a kid. If you're a collector, then it's a must go. I even picked up a Switch game for a reasonable price.

Not gonna lie, this place is really really neat. It definitely brings you back to your childhood of video games when you didn't have discs and only game cartridges. Their selection is out of this world, things you would only find at vintage stores but they have it here. It was really cool, I liked the environment and it was very chill in there. They do have an arcade room where it is all day play for $5 which was neat but we didn't take advantage of it at the time as we were just passing by and wanted to drop in. Their game selection is huge and the prices are reasonable. I would definitely say to drop in and take a look for yourself, no regrets here and if we are ever still feeling nostalgic, we will definitely be making a trip back!

Pulled up on Sunday to find this signage :( I'll be back though! Place looks really cool inside

This spot is definitely worth checking out. They have a massive selection across multiple platforms, and there's an arcade in the back for $5 all day play. Some of the individual games are priced a bit high imo, but I understand that there is a major market for retro and vintage gaming items right now. I was able to purchase a gen 1 Sega Genesis at good value, and everything booted up beautifully on first attempt. If you enjoy retro gaming and nostalgic feels, pay this place a visit.

ehh, it's not really that good. The place has games -- of course, but they are very "old-timey" or 64-bit.

This shop is a haven for vintage toys, comics, and video games, offering a massive selection that spans decades and a vibe that feels like stepping into a time capsule. With its incredible inventory, passionate staff, and the option to pop in for a single find during the day, Retro Rat earns a well-deserved five stars. Walking into Retro Rat is like diving into a childhood dream. The shelves are packed with vintage action figures, from '80s Transformers to GI Joe and Star Wars classics, alongside newer collectibles like Funko Pops. The comic section is just as impressive, with everything from Silver Age Superman to modern indie titles, neatly organized for easy browsing. Their video game selection is a standout--retro cartridges for NES and Sega sit alongside PlayStation and Xbox gems, perfect for gamers looking to relive the past. The store even stocks trading cards, vintage tees, and board games, making it a one-stop shop for any pop culture fan. Retro Rat's community vibe sets it apart. They host events like trading card tournaments and retro gaming nights, creating a space where fans connect and share their passions. I don't make it to many of the events since I live across the bridge but The shop's clean and well-organized, with treasures displayed to spark excitement without overwhelming. Prices are fair--vintage figures range from $20 to $200 depending on rarity, comics are competitively priced, and games are often below market value for their condition. It's not a discount bin, but you're paying for quality and curation, and it's worth every penny for the gems you'll find. This place is more than a store; it's a nostalgic adventure. Whether I'm grabbing a single NES cartridge, flipping through X-Men comics, or eyeing a vintage toy to complete my set, Retro Rat delivers. The staff's dedication and the shop's vibrant energy make every visit feel like a hunt for buried treasure. For its unmatched selection, top-tier service, and role as a collector's paradise, Retro Rat gets five stars. Big store with tons of selections…read more I was nervous from pictures that this would be all comic books. I was a little relieved when we pulled up and there was a sign that included toys. We were here on a very specific mission, one son was looking for ghostbusters toys and the other was looking for pokemon cards. One of the employees told us that they get the most calls from people looking for pokemon cards. So I don't bury the lead, they don't have just packs of pokemon cards, but they do have a set that includes multiple packs for $60. We ended up getting that for my older son and I've been giving him a pack every couple of days. I was little nervous about our mission to find ghostbuster stuff. There were tons of star wars stuff and a lot of funko figurines. We did find ghostbuster funko figures, but that wasn't really what we were looking for. Eventually after walking around a bit, we did find three small ghostbuster items. I think they're meant to be kept on a desk, but my son has been playing with them like they're toys. I haven't seen ghostbusters so I'm not going to describe this well, but they are items to track and then trap ghosts. He was ecstatic that we found them, so mission accomplished. If you're looking for comic books then this is heaven. If you're looking for specific toys, it may be hit or miss, but for us it was a hit. This is definitely a place worth checking out.

It's only a few miles from our house, on Highway 60 in Brandon, so we went during my hour lunch break. The man sitting behind the counter was very pleasant and welcomed us into the store. I am not so much a comic book - action figure - collector as I am a lover of all things 80s, vintage toys and relics of my childhood... And the store called to my 80s childish heart! I didn't have time to look around and explore all of the racks and displays but I could hear three young men also in the store with us ooh-ing and ahh-ing in excitement, around every corner! There jovial pleasure was contagious! I explored a table in the center of the store with all of the new releases of the Funko Pops. The store had a huge variety displayed on the far left wall, that ran nearly the entire length of the store. They had several figurines that I have been looking to collect such as the Garbage Pail Kids, Bob's Big Boy, Twinkie The Kid, Cap'n Crunch and Day-To-Night Barbie (I had this original Barbie when I was in Elementary school!). Since this is a collectible store, I feel it's important to note that any of the items I picked up and looked at were in pristine packaging. I know that is very important to collectors, as I have been one my entire life and know that package condition can make or break a sale! Another plus, they accept Apple Pay :)
