Enjoy shopping here. Friendly staff and a decent selection but small selection of trading cards at a fair price.

Absolutely fantastic retro game store that I visited in Tampa earlier this year. The staff was very…read moreattentive and seemed to have a wealth of knowledge on everything in their store. It is awesome to see stores like this taking so much pride in preserving the physical media of the past. There is so much value in that and I for one truly appreciate this store. Also taking pride in this work are the staff. The pricing of a lot of the retro games is fair considering many of the games are no longer available and hard to come by. Retro games, especially ones that were popular back in the day, only grow in value as our nostalgic minds yearn to play our favorite childhood games again. Though I didn't end up buying any games (only because I was just in town for just a day or two), I did manage to play one of their Japanese coin machines. I am a HUGE Psyduck enthusiast and I saw one of their machines had a DANCING Psyduck toy in it! So, I got the appropriate coins from the cashier (they don't use regular coins). I only had enough for two items, so I did my first try and got a Wabbufet. Which is nice but it's NOT psyduck. I was nervous I wouldn't get my dancing duck but with hope in my heart and psyduck on my mind, I put my last coin in and turned the dial. After I heard the plastic ball capsule reach the dispense area I nervously reached for it. "Please be a dancing yellow duck" I said to myself... and I slowly opened the capsule and... A DANCING PSYDUCK WAS IN IT! I was so thrilled that I screamed lol it was so much fun and I just feel like this silly story does a great job at capturing the vibe of this location. Getting excited while connecting with our inner child. My inner child was healed a little more by the time I left Thanks to R U Game for the incredible service and the incredible experience. The dancing psyduck now sits safely on a shelf in my room where it routinely dances to Britney and Taylor songs lol

I bought a used PS5 game as R.U. Game Fowler last Saturday. I was told if FOR ANY REASON, the game…read moredid not work, they would extend a store credit or exchange for a game of equal value. Well, it had a problem 3 times mid-way through the install process, and I was never able to get the game installed on my ps5. I updated my ps5, and still it would not work tried to take the game back today, on day 7, and was told I could not return the game because they were able to install it on the store's ps5. So now Im out $20 and a game I cant play. So much for customer service. If you are out here in the market for a pre-played game, go to Gamestop, as R.U. Game does not honor their word. Basically they robbed me for $20. I will never buy from them ever again, and will let anyone know I can how they treat customers. Untrustworthy, dishonest and terrible customer service is all they offer.

This shop is a haven for vintage toys, comics, and video games, offering a massive selection that spans decades and a vibe that feels like stepping into a time capsule. With its incredible inventory, passionate staff, and the option to pop in for a single find during the day, Retro Rat earns a well-deserved five stars. Walking into Retro Rat is like diving into a childhood dream. The shelves are packed with vintage action figures, from '80s Transformers to GI Joe and Star Wars classics, alongside newer collectibles like Funko Pops. The comic section is just as impressive, with everything from Silver Age Superman to modern indie titles, neatly organized for easy browsing. Their video game selection is a standout--retro cartridges for NES and Sega sit alongside PlayStation and Xbox gems, perfect for gamers looking to relive the past. The store even stocks trading cards, vintage tees, and board games, making it a one-stop shop for any pop culture fan. Retro Rat's community vibe sets it apart. They host events like trading card tournaments and retro gaming nights, creating a space where fans connect and share their passions. I don't make it to many of the events since I live across the bridge but The shop's clean and well-organized, with treasures displayed to spark excitement without overwhelming. Prices are fair--vintage figures range from $20 to $200 depending on rarity, comics are competitively priced, and games are often below market value for their condition. It's not a discount bin, but you're paying for quality and curation, and it's worth every penny for the gems you'll find. This place is more than a store; it's a nostalgic adventure. Whether I'm grabbing a single NES cartridge, flipping through X-Men comics, or eyeing a vintage toy to complete my set, Retro Rat delivers. The staff's dedication and the shop's vibrant energy make every visit feel like a hunt for buried treasure. For its unmatched selection, top-tier service, and role as a collector's paradise, Retro Rat gets five stars. It's a must-visit for anyone in Largo who loves toys, comics, or games, and I'll keep coming back for my next big score.

This place is located in the perimeters of Orlando, Florida in a small shopping center next to the…read morerestaurant. It's nice and Qwaint and sits in a hidden area behind later places. But upon arrival, I can tell that it was a pretty laid-back please. The desk clerk was very knowledgeable about the games and their history, as well as some nostalgic items that were available. They also have lots of Funko pops if you're into that type of thing. I even like the way they use the ticket gun to price various items in the store. It reminded me of the old school candy store with the little stickers label posted on it. The items look well cared for and wrapped very thoroughly and methodically. I believe lots of the items are fairly priced and not overwhelmingly expensive. I was most impressed with the miniature video game console that sat at the front counter that pre-dated the Atari. What surprise me most about this location is that they had a actual arcade in the back with various games from the 80s like contra, galaxa, pong, Qbert, dig, dug, streetfighter, or Pac-Man, and they even had a racing game. Even though it was not a very, very large arcade, It really did bring back quite a bit of memories.

It's only a few miles from our house, on Highway 60 in Brandon, so we went during my hour lunch break. The man sitting behind the counter was very pleasant and welcomed us into the store. I am not so much a comic book - action figure - collector as I am a lover of all things 80s, vintage toys and relics of my childhood... And the store called to my 80s childish heart! I didn't have time to look around and explore all of the racks and displays but I could hear three young men also in the store with us ooh-ing and ahh-ing in excitement, around every corner! There jovial pleasure was contagious! I explored a table in the center of the store with all of the new releases of the Funko Pops. The store had a huge variety displayed on the far left wall, that ran nearly the entire length of the store. They had several figurines that I have been looking to collect such as the Garbage Pail Kids, Bob's Big Boy, Twinkie The Kid, Cap'n Crunch and Day-To-Night Barbie (I had this original Barbie when I was in Elementary school!). Since this is a collectible store, I feel it's important to note that any of the items I picked up and looked at were in pristine packaging. I know that is very important to collectors, as I have been one my entire life and know that package condition can make or break a sale! Another plus, they accept Apple Pay :)
