This is one of the best game stores I've ever had the experience of visiting. Their prices are excellent and extremely fair. They even have a bargain bin full of games who have lost their case. The staff is always friendly and helpful and will try their hardest to answer any questions,clean your disc games, and help suggest games to new players. The selection is top tier. They have almost every generation of game or console you can imagine. I am a PlayStation player, and they have every generation of PlayStation games available in abundance! What a hidden gem my lord is this place bring back nostalgia as a kid for me! Just walking in I had goosebumps and flashbacks so presentation was top notch! The selection of games was great ended up picking up a complete in box version of Donkey Kong something you definitely don't see every day and a few other things. One of the most organized used game stores I've ever been in. The staff working was very friendly and helpful. The pricing was hit or miss on most items. I ended up putting two items back because they were over five dollars cheaper on Amazon. The two games I did buy were priced fairly and the game guide was a fantastic deal. The only negative I could point out was all of the limited run games available were not priced where you could read them and you had to ask an employee to check each and every price sticker for you because they were located behind the register. read more

I really don't understand why anybody would go anywhere else in Murfreesboro, given that this has everything a corporate video game store and more with the same or better prices. I've lived in a number of places and so I've frequented a number of "local" game stores. You'd be very hard-pressed to find one better than Game Trader. They have a pretty great selection of everything from 8-bit to current-gen, and often have a number of "oddities and curios", i.e. uncommon systems/games/imports, etc. It's the only place I've found in middle Tennessee where I've been able to waltz in and walk out with a few Virtual Boy games. They always have a lot of replacement accessories for used consoles, as well as a bunch of "famiclones" if you want something new to play your old games on. Heck, just being able to enjoy the nostalgia of playing the old StarFox tournament setup they have is worth going in. On top of a great selection and fair prices, the staff is phenomenal. It's easy to tell that they're into games just as much as the sort of customer who would be looking to buy rare and obscure ones, and always seem happy to share their knowledge. Remember back in the 8/16 bit days when it was fun to go to a game store because the staff actually knew what they were talking about, and had knowledge about games beyond what it says in their corporate advertising material? These guys are great. I've been coming here for over 10 years, and they always have a great selection of new and old games at very fair prices, and offer great customer service. I've seen the guys handle some pretty tough customers during my visits, and they take care of them every time, no matter how rude the customer gets. Great selection and fantastic staff! My husband and I stopped by this location to see if they carried the game Bravely Default in stock. Other game stores didn't have it, but Game Trader had only 2 copies left, so we bought both! A good place to find games for cheap, Game Trader has been a Murfreesboro staple for years. With a constantly rotating stock on display, this is the end-all around here for rare games (older and newer) and gaming accesories. Every single time I go in there, staff are too busy talking amongst themselves or to their friends to be of any use. This has been for over a year now. It is difficult to get their attention and when you finally do, they give you the feeling that you're interrupting them. Their prices are absurd, games are cheaper at gamestop, walmart, target, just about everywhere else. I was told one price over the phone, then a price $30 higher in person. I liked this place in my first visit they have a nice selection though they are over priced compared to other stores like great escape in Nashville and game galaxy in Antioch. Anyway I have one star up because I've only gotten two Gameboy cartridges that work out of the 6 I bought. Game cartridges use a battery to save game data, and these batteries can and will die over time and they do not appear to check for this unlike most similar. stores do. I went to exchange with my recipes and was told that I couldn't do a same value trade and that I must wait for them to get the exact games from the other store. He then went on to say it should take about a week and then went on with a story on how an employees mother is dying so it may take longer.. Real nice guys I guess we shall see what happens in a week. I'm expecting in going to have to call them. Stick to games that aren't in cartridge form of you come here as they do not properly work. read more
