Okay, to start, this isn't McKay's. However, living in Rutherford County, McKay's isn't convenient…read moreor economical. The Happy Book Stake is conveniently located and offers competitive pricing and resale potential compared to McKay, and it's faster. I went there to sell some books, games, and DVDs, and their offer was fair and generous. Like any other used media store, their selection heavily depends on what people bring in to sell and trade, but it's a decent selection for what they have. I would also love to see them participate in Free Comic Book Day.

I really enjoyed visiting this bookstore. I had a few hours alone and decided to spend some time…read morebrowsing the aisles without being rushed by my husband or kids lol. It is very small but that made it easier to look for things without being overwhelmed by too many shelves. They had books for kids, teens, and adults, along with games and even a blind date with a book section. I got several secondhand books for about $50. I will definitely be back to browse again soon. Good prices and friendly staff.

Love Christian Publishers because they have a little bit of everything, Christian Classics,…read moresupplies, a decent selection of Bibles, and even what many would call Spirit Filled or Charismatic authors. They have a little of everything for everyone! Most of the "Christian Bookstores" in Middle Tennessee have been or are denominationaly driven, but Christian Publishers is not. Which is refreshing. I like to read many different authors and have enjoyed being able to find just about everything I've wanted here, and at a fair price and many times cheaper than Amazon! I highly recommend Christian Publishers! Check them out!!!

Years ago, when this location first opened, it had an incredible cafe-esque atmosphere. The…read morebookstore was a place to browse for hours, to work or study, and to find your next great read. The ambiance was calming and aesthetic. Today, this location has been transformed into a corporate shell of what it used to be. Instead of wandering aimlessly from aisle to aisle looking for a good book, customers find themselves turning in circles as the aisles and section are laid out in an impossible to navigate configuration. If you are lucky enough to find what you are looking for, the prices are outrageous. Where the cafe was once a haven for students and remote workers, now only stale pastries and lukewarm coffee stand. The only thing this B&N has going for it is the service. Employees are always kind and helpful, even if the answer is always, "It's not in stock, but we can order it."

*Note they are still in business.* I'm passing through town…read morefor a wedding. From a traveler's perspective, this is everything I love in a used bookstore! It was a quiet labyrinth with that lovely old book smell. I liked their selection of classics with the old bindings. There is a basic organization, but this store is more akin to mining for hidden treasure than the precision of shopping online. Also a great place to hunt down books from childhood. Take that as you will; I personally appreciate it. To counter the negative reviews I'm seeing: 1. It's a used bookstore in small town Tennessee. You find what you find; if you want something super specific and niched, try Amazon. Don't expect it to be something it's not. That said, there is stuff in here that is hard to find online. Touché 2. Yes, I heard political radio playing. It wasn't loud; he also had jazz playing. I personally don't care for politics at all, but it wasn't in my face. If you, the customer, can't stand to be around anything you disagree with, then that's on you. You also don't have to go there. Accept that other people have rights to speech and expression, not just you. We cannot be a culture where opposing views are shamed and silenced.
