Rude over the phone and ignore you in person. This GameStop was a mess, and really not worth the visit.

Mr. Cheapo - You'll find a lot of great stuff. You might have to take two trips back to your car for all the stuff you'll buy.

I was going down to Long Island. I remembered my friend Glenn told me all about this record store…read more It was in Mineola not far away from where I was going to Manhasset New York. Hard to get parking on the street in front of the record store. There's a few spots, but I went around to a parking lot around back behind where the hardware store in diner are. I went and it was pretty busy even on a Tuesday at around 1:15 PM. I was impressed how well organized the store was clean looking too. One of the employees notice me and said "may I help you" I said I was just looking around. I see how it's organized with the CDs and DVDs. He said in the back of the vintage records and cassettes . Everything was laid out very nicely and organized well. Lots and lots of DVDs Blu-ray discs lots and lots of CDs. Many many records as well. Prices looked great on the DVDs. Somewhere $.99 dollar $.99 $2.99 TV box sets also inexpensive. Very good prices on The Records as well. CDs as well but I didn't look at too many of them. I really wanted to check out the cassette section. They had two big sections of cassettes both of them. You had to ask one of the employees to open up the sliding doors. Except for one section with folk cassettes, and some Grateful Dead live cassettes. Immediately picked out about 10 folk cassettes . Pete seger Bonnie Raitt. The letterman, etc.. I went up to the front and told the guy to please unlock the cassette area. Lots of rock and pop from A-to-Z. Most prices were $.99 $1.99. $2.99 $3.99. Some more hard to get ones were $4.99 $6.99. Anyway, I picked up well over 30 tapes. Definitely some I haven't seen before on cassette others. I wanted to get, but were a little pricey in other stores. I told the guy was ready at the front and he came back to lock the area where all the cassettes were. He said wow you got quite a collection of tapes there. He helped carry up a bunch of them. I left them at the counter for them to start pricing. They said thank you for helping clear out some of the cassettes. Maybe not that many people get cassettes anymore. But I still have a cassette deck in my Lincoln town car. As well as a nice couple of boxes, walkmans and a nice tape deck for my stereo system hi-fi system Lots of good CDs. I looked at while they were checking out the tapes The employees were very friendly. I talked to them as they were finishing ringing up the tapes they gave me a punchcard and I got five punches. They told me the stores been there for 40+ years. I'll have to go back and look through the CDs and DVDs next time I go down there. I would definitely recommend this record store. Everything is clean, not dusty or musty laid out very nicely and clearly. There are fantastic deals here. Be careful you might spend too much money and go home with a load of stuff.

You might find something neat here or there but for those wondering why they are called Mr. Cheapo, it's likely because of the experience selling items to the store. Not pleasant, they will lowball you to less than 10% of the value of your item, hem and haw about how they won't be able to sell it for much, then list it for way way way more than they told you they would. I come here if I'm bored and need to kill some time but it's never a fun experience really.

We came here 4 times now and I always end up spending a fortune. They have tons of Manga (comics/ graphic novels originated from Japan), Squishmallows, Funko Pop! as well as CDs, vinyls, clothing, collectibles, gifts and other comics + books. I'd say it's a pretty cool, interesting store for both adults and kids but also very pricey. Just realized, comics are not cheap. If you're a fan, then I guess it's worth it. He always picks out about 3 to 4 Manga every time, which ranges from $10-$20 each and some plushes & keychains. The Squishmallow keychains are $13, medium & large sized Squishmallow plushes ranges from $20-$60. Some are extremely overpriced due to the levels of rarity. The blue penguin I just bought today that my daughter really wanted retails for $15, their selling it for $36. Overall, still a good store to check out and the staff are helpful. Fyi (9/11): their currently having a buy 1 get 1 50% off all Manga and graphic novels deal.

The second one I didn't even open because I didn't even want to see or try the record after I realized that the cover and spine is absolutely wrecked and crushed. Comic selection is also pretty disappointing compared to the OG in Boston. Save yourself the time and money and go to an independent record or comic store.

I walked into the mall with my nephew looking to go to target and we happened to walk past this place that I never knew existed before. Obviously my nephew shot right into the store seeing all the cool electronics and gadgets. As I followed him in and my eyes wandered here and there at all the vintage and classics of video games history and revolution, I gasped in awe of this amazing sight. This place had everything, from caleco to modern gaming. Standing in this place felt like a museum more that a store. Walking down the left side wall and seeing as you stroll by consoles from the 80s and 90s and onward left me envisioning myself as a toddler to pre-teen to young adult. What a feeling it was. It had a feel that gamestop never had not since its early days or its first fruits. I remember being a kid all the way back when funco land was around and how much joy those days were. Times were so different then.... Seeing my nephew run up and down the aisles with nothing but joy at everything around him left me seeing my childlike self and the youthful carefree days when being a kid was all the responsibilty I had to worry about........Days gone by......(moment of silence). In addition to the consoles they had the old gaming magazines like game informer and nintendo power. I rememver waiting every month in the mail for the new nintendo power arrive and bothering my mom to pay for the new subscription lol. I had a conversation with an employee here named Brandon who was awesome by the way. He was very knowledgeable about the products and it was really cool that he was interested in talking gaming glory days with me for the 3 to 4 minutes we spoke. The prices for the old consoles seemed to range from $100-$300 (depending on what your looking for. Im not really familiar with the prices these days so if your a vintage gamer I woulf definitely take a trip here and take a look. They also do trade in's which is awesome if you want to get rid of some old games collecting dust. All in all if your a gamer id definitley recommened checking this place out. If your a little older like i am looking to re-live your glory days locking yourself in your room for days eating a bag of potatoes trying to beat contra on the NES then come on down too. (Sorry ladies try not to kill him lol).

I have been coming to GameOn, since its first open location in Miller Place, and even before its…read morecurrent address. GameOn is owned and founded by Tristan Whitworth, who has been giving people of all ages the opportunity to relive their childhood experiences, and/or create new ones. All of the games sold here, are authentic, thoroughly tested, and reviewed so you can always count on the video games being in the best possible condition. GameOn also offers more than just games but consoles, accessories, controllers, and more. One of the recent times I went in; Tristan showed me that he received a whole bunch of promo posters from Nintendo that were unopened. I pointed out that the Banjo Kazooie poster he had, had a beta version of the character Mumbo. (Meaning the poster was worth more!!) It was awesome to see and the fact that he showed me it when I came in at a random day and time was incredible! The prices at GameOn are very fair, and trade ins are always WAY better than Gamestop who will give you pennies. GameOn gives you great rates and even greater if you vouch for in store credit. For those of you reading this looking to relive the past, or discover old but new-to-you classics, or even find consoles, accessories and more; this place is for you. One thing I was very grateful for, was that my cousin, his friend and myself produced a video game that mimics the retro style of older 2D platformers: I.E: (Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Country, etc.) and Tristan allowed us to not only bring it in for him to try it, but allow his customers to try our game and test it. As if that wasn't enough, our game was free to download, with the option of donating and let's just say Tristan donated very generously! Speaking of generous, I also had an experience, where a few years back, I came in with a trade in, and a new employee gave me a pretty low deal which I accepted, but later went home feeling duped. I don't know how, as I didn't even tell Tristan, or write review, and he wasn't in the store that day, but he actually reached out to ME, and apologized that I was shorted, and that I could have an in store credit or the option to receive more money than I reluctantly agreed to. The in store credit was more than fair, and once again GameOn proved why I love it so much; and why I want to return in the future. I shouldn't have to say this; but an owner reaching out to a customer who was shorted, apologizing and giving them a store credit/offering them more money for the price they agreed to? That is unheard of and let me tell you I was blessed and very happy he reached out to me. Overall, what makes GameOn so great is its owner: Tristan. He is an energetic, passionate and kind person who always does right by you. Tristan has also hired some awesome and dedicated employees and they are always very knowledgeable and passionate about gaming like he is! GameOn does more than just sell games; they have hosted charity events, birthdays, gatherings and more. Something worth mentioning is that GameOn has grown from one location, to three, and now even has arcades open which I would urge you to check out! All in all, Tristan has created more than just a store for selling old games, but a living community that supports all who have an interest in gaming, and offers a selection of oldies but goodies, and everything in between. By far, the best retro gaming store on the island! GameOn!

It honestly feels like one of the last spots in the city where you can walk in and see this huge, slightly chaotic collection of games and consoles all in one place. The Nintendo 64 section is probably my favorite part. They have so many different variations it's kind of nostalgic overload in the best way. And they've also started adding video game soundtrack vinyls which is really dope and fits the vibe perfectly. The staff is also super cool and really knowledgeable without being overbearing. Just don't go in only to browse. Try to grab something if you can, even if it's just one of the anime themed sodas or a small piece of merch.
