A unique view of the Eastern Blue Ridge Mountains. This is…read morejust a few hundred feet from the Black Rock Visitors Center. It is at the turn right before you arrive at the visitor's center. It has a small parking area right off the road. There is a wooden viewing platform built right off the road terminating in a platform about 8 x 15 feet wide and about 25 feet off the ground. This allows visitors to see below and out across the mountains to the east. It offers a nice view but not as spectacular as the ones from the visitors center. It is important to note that this location offers the Eastern view whereas the Visitor's center offers the southern view so it is unique in that respect. One of the trails originates from this same location. It is nice to see and has a nice informational display built onto the platform explaining the view. When first entering it looks like it is a tunnel through the trees but it opens into a better, broader view. It is worth a stop either on the way to the visitor's center or on the way back from the center. You may also want to visit the Foxfire museum right down the mountain a little bit. Enjoy.

I arrived and spoke with the owner briefly, then left my books for her to check out while I browsed the store. I must say I was amazed at how well the store was laid out. Plenty of room to browse the different areas and sections. All areas clearly marked and arranged by themes. Most comic stores tend to be crammed into tight spaces and claustrophobic but this store was a pleasure to go through Nice selection of back issues and current issues, figurines, posters, graphic novels, games, and much more. They've got benches and card mats in the back :) so get your Black Lotus on. There's something here for everyone and if you're having trouble the staff will gladly assist! A bit too cool for downtown Blue Ridge, honestly, but I'm really glad it's here.
