Grainger Games in Oldham, is not a nice store. I am not a fan of the Graigner Games franchise after…read moretheir Cheetham Hill branch sold me a "New" game, only to get home and it be opened. The Cheetham Hill branch kindly offered to give me a refund for the game, but as this is such a treck for me to get too, I visited the Oldham store. I rang the store on the phone, and they promised a refund. Hence I sent my friend to pick this item up and the staff were very arrogant, they mentioned that it was not in their returns policy to refund me when the game is working and the codes are unusued and that is what they do with the games. I later got a refund from the Cheetham Hill branch and they were kind enough, to give me a refund. I previously went in this store the next day and I didn't particually like it as well, I asked if they had a game and they explained they didn't due to selling out, but then the price risen in just an hour by 5 pounds at the Cheetham Hill store, who had it in. The store didn't have good selection and still advertised Black Friday products for stuff they didn't have. For the size of the store, the selection of games isn't very good at all and workers at Game stores, are meant to love games as much as people, I am not a big gamer and compared to them, It is like I spend every minute of every day on games. It doesn't take much for me to beat someones gaming knowledge, but if they was a boxing match between the strongest man on Earth and an Alien who didn't know how to fight, in that situation I would be the strongest man and the store the alien hence I have to give this store a single on star, to be hoenst that is being extremly generous.

With my "regular" store on Market Street in Manchester City center closing I decided to visit this slightly smaller branch in Oldham, which as I recall is my first time visiting the That's Entertainment franchise outside the now closed Manchester branch, This store is quite new to Oldham and it does look nice to brighten up the Spindells Mall but sadly it seems to not do anything more than that, as inside it is like a dumping ground in a way especially for the decor. The cases and stands used to hold the CD's, seems to be cracking and falling apart and it was hard to get your game out etc because of the layout of the shelves, which was quite frustrating. It was quite hard to find games such as for the Xbox too due to the layout of the store really not being very good to be able to find your way around, without having to look at everything else first, a staff member pointed me in the right direction, they didn't seem too welcoming or friendly and eager to do more to help. This store in a way can seem to be forgotten, being tucked away into that corner of the mall and sadly it doesn't seem to be doing anything to block that from happening, when I visited the store it just seemed like they didn't care, which was a shame. This store is dwarfed by the selection and customers in CeX nearby especially for used gaming, so sadly I don' feel this branch has done enough to stand out or even be worth a second visit for me too meaning I sadly feel it deserves a single one star.

This is a bright store compared to other Game's, normally Gamestation's are dark and Game stores are bright and hence since the merger that hasn't change, especially with the Manchester Arndale's two branches. I came in here today, to ask the difference between the Day Zero and Standard edition of the new Call of Duty - After being given the Day Zero edition in the other game store, he explained the differences quite well, as I am not up with all the games in that catergary, he could of explained it better but I relativley understood even though his explination was more towards tbe stores target market of hard core gamers. Before going into administration, Game prices were really high priced, but now the prices have came down, they is some really good deals like they had for Black Friday and some, all year round but still some products are far too high compared to sites like Amazon. This store has a better selection than the other GAME store in the Arndale but this is probably because it is at least 3 times as big as it and the layout of games does seem easier to see. Despite being better than the other Game in the Arndale, as I have not purchased from this store in quite a long time, I can only match my rating for the other GAME store because I have not had a proper look at all their products and prices in this store, selection and bought a product in quite a while, It would be unfair to judge this store now on a experience of 1, 2 even 3 years ago so I can only judge based on my experience dealing with a member of staff and having a quick look round today.

Review for CeX Arndale Manchester - A Wasted 24 Hours and a Damaged Device…read more I regret to say that my recent experience with CeX Arndale Manchester was not only deeply disappointing but also a telling symbol of why this company may not exist in the next 20 years. I handed in a pristine device, expecting a straightforward evaluation, only to have 24 hours of my time wasted, only to be told that my phone was "not sellable." More disturbingly, the device was returned to me with two fresh marks/scratches that were not there before. The damage was done, quite visibly, and the person who returned it to me a female staff member seemed unaware or indifferent to the fact that the device had clearly been mishandled during their assessment process. This kind of carelessness is not just unacceptableit i s corrosive to any customer-facing business. The irony here is tragic: the very company that prides itself on being a marketplace for used electronics seems to be accelerating its own obsolescence by treating both customers and their devices with such disregard. If this is how CeX treats the people it relies on to sustain its inventory, it's no wonder many consumers are moving toward decentralized tech trade-ins and platforms that operate with transparency, speed, and respect. In an age of intelligent automation, blockchain-based transactions, and next-gen peer-to-peer resale models, CeX's archaic and inconsistent service model epitomized by the careless behaviour I witnessed today is writing its own demise. It's no longer just about product margins; it's about trust, precision, and a future-ready approach. On all of these, CeX failed. This experience has left me unhappy and disillusioned, and unless there's a radical shift in professionalism and process, this may well be my last dealing with CeX.

There is another number to ring and that is actually a premium rate number, bet they have that active though further breeching UK law. Reported to trading standards this morning.

This store is quite small, tucked into the corner of the shopping centre and in-between Wilko and Middleton News on the Ground Floor. As I feel strongly about putting my hometown of Middleton on the Yelp map, I think this is the perfect place for Review 1256, to end my 13 day review drought. The store is quite nice inside, it is new so does feel nice but in other ways, it's just far too small and cramped, it can be quite hard to move down and you basically are forced to walk down in single file, slowly walking past without stopping to browse, due to the store's size it would be near enough impossible. I was excited when I heard CeX was coming into Middleton but this store just falls short of expectations, it is nice to have a brand like this in Middleton, but typical problems I've found with CeX and explained in other reviews, and the size of the store let this store down, to only warrant two stars.

I visited this coffee shop recently and left feeling pretty uncomfortable with how I was treated. From the moment I ordered, the staff came across as dismissive and noticeably colder toward me compared to other customers around me. There were a few interactions that felt unnecessarily sharp, and it gave the impression that I wasn't particularly welcome there. I want to be fair, but as a straight customer, the difference in tone and attitude didn't go unnoticed. Whether intentional or not, it made the experience feel exclusionary rather than inclusive. It's a shame because the space itself has a lot of personality, but the service made it hard to enjoy. I'd hope they work on creating a more welcoming environment for everyone.

Whether it was because the area of town is a bit random, the building a bit unattractive and me thinking it was more of a bookshop - something just seemed to be putting me off. But today in my meeting with Matt F we decided to give it a go and what a great decision it was! First off this place is huge and a labyrinth once inside - one half hipster bookshop, the other half cool cafe with a real nod to health (check out the menu on my pics). A really lovely environment with working fountain and a variety of places to sit. The food was excellent too - my breakfast pancakes were probably the best I've had in Manchester so far which is saying something. Quick note that they don't do sides - at one stage I thought I was going to turn into Jack Nicholson in '5 Easy Pieces' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wtfNE4z6a8 but thankfully the guy sorted us out with a side of toast after I asked nicely...repeatedly... Very friendly staff, great venue. I'll be back soon to work/eat/drink coffee/read a book - or all at the same time!
