Pretty cool place with a large selection of games going back to NES. Prices are a bit high but the gentlemen was friendly and handed multiple people at a time well. Plus we always want to support our local stores when we can. Didnt see a lot of perfect quality games but they did have some rare things that you dont see a lot of like a mt dew xbox and stubb's the zombie. read more

While there is a good selections of games and other products, some of them were overpriced and in bad condition. A lot of games were nearly double the price of what I could get elsewhere. Also, some game discs were in terrible condition, with scratches that made it hard to believe they would even work. Customer service wasn't bad; they were nice, but kind of presented themselves as unprofessional. They did have a lot of products to offer across all platforms, and I ended up getting an Xbox One game for $10, which was by far the cheapest price I saw in the entire store. Overall, not the best, not the worst, but eBay could be the better option. read more

They are incredibly rude to their customers. How are these people still in business? I try to lead with kindness and the second I walked in they acted like I was trying to screw them over because I asked a question about store credit. The owner got super intense with me and acted like he straight up didn't want me to be there so I left. They treat their customers like adversaries and it was an extremely uncomfortable exchange. I traveled an hour to make over $100 in purchases from this store- and expressed this to the person working there. When I returned home, the merchandise that I purchased did not work, so I returned to the store the next day with the used controller, the 2 person games I bought, and the receipt. I was told there were only exchanges and I would not be given my money back. I politely expressed my displeasure, given that I had not been told of the return policy the prior day. I was then spoken down to by a man that came out of the back- who proceeded to talk badly about GameStop for 10 minutes. None of that has to do with my issue- I was only trying to replace a controller for my 8 year old son. I would not advise anyone to take their business to this merchant. They don't stand behind their products, they're rude and condescending and don't know how to do effective business. I will not be taking my business there in the future. They are real quick to rip you off, while making it seem like they are giving you a good deal. I'm not much of a gamer, but I had recently ran into some old sega dreamcast games and deceided to go cash them in at game junkies. I sold them, idk like 4 or 5 games and they gave me $80. Seems like a pretty decent score, right? Sike! Come to find out one of the games I had sold them has been selling on ebay like crazy for $200 to $250 all day, some for even more. He knew how much the game was worth, but decided to be greedy and shady . Not a good way to treat your customers. It's gotta be hard to keep people coming in when all you do is deceive and lie to people. I want to love this store, but I can't. The store thinks everything is a "collector's item" and raises the price to 20% or so more than you are going to pay online or at other retro stores. I have no hard feelings about it, because people with that money-grubbing mindset have to get their money, but I have gone in there a lot and I have never really been satisfied. I am treated like I don't know what I'm talking about and everything is seriously overpriced ... plus things that have been priced stay the same price for years, so they just sit there. That's why there are dozens of games in the "rare case" that nobody has bought in years. Unfortunately, they messed up my rewards points, which I kept very careful track of (hoping to get a deal) so I didn't get the discounts I was hoping for and I did all that work for nothing. I sadly don't trust it. Just a waste. Also, if you do find a gem, staff quickly look it up on eBay and charge you whatever they highest price is plus some. Why not just skip the store and go to eBay then? I can have that shopping experience on my phone any minute. Why would I drive across town and come in to a store to do that? At this point, I have spent hundreds of dollars in this store, but I am not going to spend another dime there unless something changes. Suggestions: 1) Treat your customers like they aren't idiots and thieves. We aren't. Be grateful for customers and maybe suggest a game with good gameplay once in a while. Do you even LIKE retro games? If not, hire someone who plays them and can suggest something. 2) Reprice some of the retro games once in a while. If games haven't sold in six months, they aren't going to, and we are just going to get it cheaper somewhere else. 3) Clean up the store. It's "junky". 4) Customers want to shop local, but you guys make it hard to do that. Make it about the GAMES and the COMMUNITY. I'm sorry, this store feels like it's all about the MONEY. You can ignore my comments if you want, call me names, but I actually WANT to love this store. I want to have a place I enjoy shopping for retro games locally. I went to game junkies looking for a PlayStation 3 which they had. The only problem is that they wanted $135 for it and they were the only place around that had one. It gave me problems so I called the next day to return it and was told my only option was to take it to another location to get it swapped out. I didn't want to do that so I just wanted to return some games. I called the store to talk to Juan and he was no help to me. I went to the store just to return a game and a controller and Juan told me he could no longer deal with my problem and I would have to come back on Monday when the man who sold me the PlayStation was there. This seems ridiculous when I only wanted to exchange the game and controller. I went across the street to cash converters to sell the games with no problems. While in cash converters I noticed that they had one PS3 for $50 which is a very reasonable price. Game junkies is price gouging their customers at a very unfair rate. This is a very illegal act and they are very much getting away with it. Needless to say I won't take my business here any longer and I will advise all of my friends to do the same. Their name says it all, junkies scam people out of their money to supply their habits, it's a sad life but they're living it. read more
