I was after a somewhat obscure NiCad battery for an old RC car that I was giving to my nephew. Lots of staff available and I was served right away. At first we determined that I might need a newer battery and charger (which was more expensive that I had planned) but one of the guys said 'let me try to find a NiCad for you' and he did. It ended up costing me much less than the first option but the goodwill to me as a customer was priceless. They solved my problem and saved me money. His shop is filled with lots of spare parts for the popular r/c brands (traxxas, hpi) along with a few dozen of rtr's and kits. He may not have the vast selection some of the other hobby shops in Mississauga have, as his shop isn't the largest, but he will order anything in for you and actually call you to let you know when it has arrived. His prices are in line with everyone else too. If you're in the area and run r/c cars or trucks, Galaxy should be your LHS.

They have models from Warhammer, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Marvel. There were a ton of accessories like paint brushes, model paint, glue, and related tools. It was a busy day in the store. They have a few well lit cubicles that served as stations for painting and model building. They were offering a free workshop that day for kids as part of the Kerr Street Kid Fest. The employees were patiently helping kids with their first minis. There is an area in the basement of the store for games as well. It's near that they had these two areas separate to keep it accessible to folks new to the miniatures. There are some board games and trading cards (mostly Pokemon) available here for sale but the majority of the store was for mini hobbyists. The pricing is actually the same or a little cheaper than the official Warhammer stores for things like primer and paint which was awesome to see. The store seems to be really committed to building a community. They have their own Discord server for customers to keep in touch. They were really busy with the extra traffic from the festival so we didn't get to talk much to the employees about the store events. Hopefully we can learn a bit more from them on our next visit.

Do you need decals for whatever reason? They have a big free bin near the front. Do you need cement? What types? There are so many! And, if you don't know, the guys who work there do, and they will make sure you walk away with what you need. If you've been thinking about giving models a go, or are just looking for a place that has shelves lined with them, this is where you want to go. It's hard to believe that a brick and mortar like this place still exists, but it's wonderful that it does!

I'm new to the hobby and was genuinely excited to visit the store for the first time. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill the moment I walked in. One employee immediately gave me a harsh look and stared at me from across the room. I didn't even realize he worked there at first, so I tried to move out of his line of sight. Another employee eventually approached me, and I explained that it was my first visit and I wanted to look around before asking questions. He was friendly and helpful -- I honestly wish he had been the one assisting me the whole time. Instead, the first employee eventually came over and asked if I needed anything, but his tone and body language made me feel unwelcome, as if he wanted me to leave rather than browse. It took the excitement out of what should have been a fun first visit. Bottom line: the store itself was great, but the attitude from that particular employee made the experience uncomfortable and disappointing.

I really wanted to stock up on some scrapbooking supplies and wanted to see them in person. They had fake decorative pumpkins and hay in the front as buy one get one free deals. I think the hay might have been real as there was some condensation in the bag. They had more BOGO deals inside with seasonal door mats as well. I really liked that they had a variety of Halloween subthemes. There was spookier stuff (not as spooky as like gaunt skeletal remains) and then there was the pastel colours of a cutesy Halloween. Finding things isn't hard at Michael's since the aisles are really well labelled. I was able to find really pretty card stock in foil and textured paper. They also had a lot of cutouts if there's a theme you're going for. Michael's also has a great 3D sticker collection. They have ones for a ton of cities and countries which is great for documenting your vacation! They only had one checkout lane open. Once a line started forming, another employee opened another POS to help us out. I was asked if I have a Michael's account. They can look you up by phone or email. The membership gets you some deals and a birthday offer.
