In fact, I recently discovered the shop itself as they hosted an outdoor vinyl sale, inviting other local vendors and collectors to sell directly outside their shop. It was a fantastic event under any circumstances, but in these days in particular felt like an inspired and ideal way to celebrate and embrace a communal NY spirit. I walked away with a nice mug for myself, a couple of surprise early holidays gifts off my list and, of course, some interesting new and used vinyl. And perhaps more importantly, a great day, and a fine new gift buying go-to!

And this was the best experience so far. Fantastic collection of reggae, soul, hip hop and rock. Prices are great as well--super competitive. They also have a listening station, which is always convenient. I find that I buy more LPs when I can preview them before purchasing. Their stock is well organized. It is a smaller sized store, but I easily spent two hours looking through everything, including their 45s. I saw a few locals walk in so it felt like a cool neighborhood spot. The shop is definitely worth the trip down to Prospect Lefferts Gardens. It is not too far from the subway or park either.

The team here sources these teak pieces from Danish families, restores them and offers them for purchase to you and me at utterly reasonable prices. We'd actually just seen a few "vintage" furniture spots where they were asking similar prices for old, scratched and broken down pieces, and I commiserated on this with the ultra friendly and knowledgable salespeople here at Lanoba. We were probably going to get one of the tables with leaves built in to expand anyway, but the fact that they are so nice didn't hurt at all. They were even hospitable toward our children (ugly, rude kids, if I do say so myself), showing them the old TV sets and letting them know there was a call for them on the rotary phone. If you like intelligently designed wood tables, chairs, sideboards, coffee tables, dressers, entertainment centers and more, you should check Lanoba out.

And they taught us how to care for the furniture. The warehouse is situated VERY CLOSE to the tunnel. It's also close to all the filipino restaurants/bakeries I ALSO LOVE so it was nice buying our furniture and celebrating at the Philippine Bread House. We bought a house and our dining area is quite small so we knew we needed a well-designed, well-made dining table that was universal to all kinds of parties and beautiful to look at. Teak does that. Mid-century modern does that. It was hard to choose which we'd like and once we narrowed it down to the potential one table with chairs, we told them and they held it while we looked around which was so great cause we didn't feel so rushed to buy it cause I KNEW it would've been picked up by someone else if we hadn't claimed our interest. Our table is wide enough to be comfortably used as a work table and can extend up to 8 which is lovely. The chairs are comfortable, it helps you keep from slouching and the table we chose had a more beautiful grain to it than the others which helps in contrast to our hardwood. They even gave us a tote with a tin of danish cookies aka future sewing kit container and mineral oil as a thank you. How dare they be so thoughtful.! I love this place. I'm already scheming to make room somewhere in the house just so I can own another piece. I'm thinking a bookcase or...three. ;)

I've been ordering Blu-rays from Cinema Classics for the better part of of maybe 3 or 4 years now…read moreand have never had anything but a good experience. In many orders, I think one may have been in error, like a single title was missing or it was a 4k instead of a bluray--something like that--and it was corrected immediately. As a high-volume Blu-ray collector, I've always got to be economic about things so I tend to go there for the sales they'll host and for the few titles I absolutely need brand new titles at full retail with a slipcase because they've always got it specified on there when that is available and their year-round policy to offer a free title when ordering 6 always softens that blow. Everything is legit, shipping is prompt and careful, and the selection provides a lot of options if I'm trying to buy a few titles but don't always have enough in the cart for that 7-for-6 scenario with one or two particular labels. They have also always offered a pay-in-4 option with PayPal so I have known nothing but accomodation with this company. Buy with confidence.

There seems to be a broken/glitched function because the email does not go through. I checked my bank card and I was still charged... I had to Google if this was a legitimate site lol. If it's this challenging to get in contact with them, that's concerning. I've ordered from well over 20 movie sites and Cinema Classics has been the only one that has had this issue. No email confirmation/order number or any way to be contacted from their site. Listing their email and phone number would seem to be the wise thing to do. Update: Received the movies I ordered in perfect condition. Although there was no initial confirmation email, i did get an email about tracking 4 or 5 days later. I will be ordering from them again bc they have so many movies I want to own. Just advise to not make massive orders without having ordered from them previously.
