Fun space! Known…read moreusually as the A|Z Gallery, it's located on the ground floor of the Tilsner Artists' Cooperative in St. Paul, kitty corner from the Farmer's Market. They've got an ever-changing collection or art, seemingly from local artists. With room for all types of hanging art, and larger pieces in the center of the room, the A|Z Gallery looks like it would be a great party atmosphere to host openings. I've never been, and frankly don't know if they do that, but the location looks fit for it. Parking is hit or miss; not many street options now with the surrounding roads dug up for the Central Corridor project, but you can take advantage of the Farmers Market lot (if not already occupied) or the Tilsner lot itself. I honestly don't know if you have to pay for those two...but I've never been towed.

Except for the "art show" that my friend's children set up in a corner of their room....so, yeah. AZ Gallery was holding an event - A Midwinter's Dream - that featured local women artists and their various crafts. Everything was represented there from homemade candles and perfume to photography, shadowboxes, and jewelry. To be honest, much of the reason we went was to support a couple of friends at the show. Wandering around the space was easy and fun - I had a great time talking to each artist, some were members of the gallery, others were guests of the gallery. And the members of the gallery were super nice too. The gallery did a great job of laying out the space so that it didn't feel too crowded either. I can't tell you much more about the gallery, hours, trivia, or anything else really useful. But, if you see another event of theirs pop up, be sure to check it out! They do know how to host a nice party and they have some great artists.

They have a beautiful gift shop and all kinds of paintings and pottery etc. for sale. Various kinds of workshops, and they seem to be connected to the Edina Film Festival, which takes place the end of Oct. My personal interest as of late is The Author's Studio workshop, where a guest speaker comes in for an hour in an Actor's Studio on Bravo channel format. Today I saw a screenwriter who is a professor at MCTC. There's a new speaker every 2nd Sat. of the month from 10-11. It's very convenient from the Original Pancake House.

She was entertaining, friendly and very informative. The stories I liked best were about the ways the business helps support local artists, while still making a profit. For this reason I'll definitely be back. I'm not sure how much a picture frame should cost, but they look like they're very expensive ($200) compared to the price of the art work I own. They had some premade up small frames for around $50, but they may not be the size, shape and style to fit my pictures. Worth checking out. I'll definitely get them to quote for some work, but it's the artists work that will really pull me back

I stumbled upon the gallery earlier this week and was blown away by the unique collection of art they are curating from local and national artists. Of course some art was a bit out of my price range, but I was encouraged to see they also carry art that is very affordable and moderately sized for us apartment dwellers in the area. Everyone in the gallery was welcoming and very knowledgeable! I'll for sure be coming back here when I'm ready to make a few investments in great art. It's a must visit if you're in the area and the shop is a quick walk from Calhoun Square.

This place features local artists who create unique, creative, special and important pieces of art. They are often open for the community to come view the current display, and never charge a fee. There are also individual art spaces that people rent to create their work. I have met a few artists who were there working while I was viewing some paintings. It's also a space where people gather for writing workshops, tai chi and other events. Outside there is street parking right out front, and places to lock up your bike. There is also a tiny library stand, where you can borrow a book. Take one and leave one for someone else to read. Enjoy this gallery monthly for a different experience each time.

I've seen the Bockley Gallery on social media for ages and am thrilled to have the opportunity to…read morefinally visit. I'm glad it was aligned with Maggie Thompson's Tug-of-War Series. While the space was small, the impact was large. I loved the traditional artistry (the beadwork and shawls) mixed with contemporary struggles. It's incredibly important to me that Indigenous art continues to have a place in the Twin Cities. I'm grateful we have this space with such a welcoming group running it.

Todd Bockley and his Gallery Manager Emily Marsolek were a delight to meet and talk with. The Bockley Gallery location is super! Easy parking, street level access and close to other interesting shops and retail. I look forward to visiting regularly.

I tried to capture my fav piece by walking a video around it but the video just doesn't do it justice. You must see in person. I worked for West Publishing when Mr Cafesjian was an executive there so I have some familiarity with his love of art. It's hard to imagine some of these pieces being part of his home. Such beauty to view everyday. The museum is open to the public but you need to make a reservation at the set times. The guide is very knowledgeable and spends about 20 minutes talking then walks around the museum answering your questions. She was wonderful and a nice addition to the tour. Some of the pieces are on loan so stop back on occasion to see new art.
