And now a review of the space, because like the photos, this place is that cool and now, I have a better understanding of what it's all about, sort of. So the place has been open for about 5.5 months. A warm inviting storefront with the inside filled with local artist inspirations. Prices range from the Wow! That will look kick ass in my place (for the most frugal shopper) to Wow! That will look kick ass in my place! (for the person with some deep, pockets). Everything that's sold are one-of-a-kind pieces and are quite amazing. From paper mache' sculptures (definitely worth checking out) , New Zealand reclaimed wood tables, low temp fired ceramics, paintings with prices all over the spectrum and of course, photography and more. The cool thing though is that with the gallery owner, Nance, has space in the back which could be used for other events besides showings. Not big events, but smaller ones and obviously you would need to talk to her about what your trying to do but she came off as pretty cool and open to ideas. Nance has history of doing things in the city around the arts scene and if you've been to Macy's for their holiday display, you've seen her work. This part of West 7th (3-4 block area?) is really starting to pop and one could park in the middle and walk around, eat, drink, and shop their way to the different businesses and this place, is definitely worth a stop.

The piece took a couple weeks, as I advised there was no rush. Doug upgraded my glass to museum quality to thank me for waiting. The manager or the "DIRECTOR" was a combination of disinterested, stand-off-ish, unfriendly, and snobby. She was far more interested in assembling a new display with another staffer than talking to us. She couldn't be bothered to greet us or to help us or to discover our interests, guide us, or use any professional customer service skill set whatsoever. Bummer. Everything has a price on it, right? Everything is for sale, right? I hunted her down a few times to ask questions but I felt like I was bothering her. And the other person never said a word to us. Oh, well. We walked out without opening our wallets. This is the kind of experience I expect from snobby people in Downtown Minneapolis. One of the big reasons I drive all the way to Hudson, Wisconsin is to avoid this type of thing and to deal with real, down to earth, friendly people. Ooops, not here though! I'll admit I haven't met or gotten to know the new owners and staff due to the pandemic, though I look forward to doing so. So appreciative of the new owners taking on a new business at such a difficult and keeping an amazing gallery in Hudson! The person who I do know at Seasons is Rachel. This is where I met her and now consider her an a friend. She has helped me find the perfect gifts and art for years! I'm not a huge buyer of incredibly expensive art. But she has sent art home for me to try in my space, helped me pick out frames for prints, even come out and helped me hang art. Thank goodness for her continuity there! And her wonderful shows! They are an incredible amount of work to set and video. I will be back more as things normalize!

Depending on the size of the crowd, parking and entry can be a breeze or really tough. It is a venue that has a lot of potential, with both the inside of the building and the outdoor field where ABR is held available as potential space. I guess I would say that I feel the ABR is too big for this venue and there are parking issues (not to mention the wrap-around-the-block hour-long wait to get through the gate). Other things I've been to at this facility seemed better suited. For the record, I do think that reusing an old building period is awesome. It's way better than just letting it sit there. :-)

Someone reminded me of this newish gallery that I had heard about but hadn't been to yet. Thank goodness for this place! They have art and crafts made by local Southeast Asian artists that you can buy in the spot. I bought some lovely drawings by Tori Hong for just $30 each. They also have a good stationary selection. I got some thank you cards that say "thank you" in Hmong! I saw aprons with Hmong designs, cute pillows, stickers, mug coasters and more. The space felt airy like a gallery and the folks running the store were super friendly. Do you need gifts for friends, family, or coworkers? This place is a…read morelandmark in the northeast arts district and is filled to the brim of local art to admire and take home. I've come here multiple times and have left with quite a few pieces now especially from DC Ice and AMF. Artists art friendly and are happy to chat or give you space, accommodating your desired experience. I would highly recommend coming during one of their major events during the fall or during art a whirl when the place is bustling with crowds to really add to the warmth of the space this place exudes.

While there for an event, I got to do some wandering and purchased a few items. 1)Excelsior Candle Co.Snagged a pack of wax melts and a warmer. 2)Tipton-Hammond Arts. There's lots of beautiful art to choose from, and while it was hard to choose, I purchased a cool print. 3)MBMB. Lots of cute merchandise, but as soon as I saw this cute t-shirt that said, "I'd rather be doing arts and crafts", I had to get it.
