None the less, my man and I ventured down Tecumseh and wandered around. The store is slightly narrow, so on busy days, like Saturdays, it can be tough to navigate around. The shop carried a lot of used Pop/Rock/Country/Jazz. The prices for the used stuff was very reasonable. The new stuff was priced pretty standard. My boyfriend was VERY excited to have found a German 12" Gun 'n' Roses Single. I was very happy with my $2 Sesame Street Christmas record. If there was something used that I was looking for in particular, I would have loved being there. But it was cold outside, and I guess the store didn't have the heat on high enough 'cause I was freezing. Oh they also sell CDs, books, music memorabilia, vinyl record sleeves and cassettes. It's REALLY cool that the store is also releasing bands recordings such as Paul Johnson and Cellos. It's great that Windsor has 2 record stores and that they BOTH sell new and used records. You know how picky those old fans can get. He took me here first. I'm not a Jazz hipster like him, but I do like records - and oh, they have a ton. I snagged quite a bit for very little - some records were as Misi said, literally $1. Even the new releases were inexpensive. I'm accustomed to paying over $20 per record sometimes for that "audiophile grade vinyl" junk. That doesn't seem to happen here unless its rare. So it didn't break the bank. It seems like they have a good rotation of stock going. I can see myself easily coming back at least once a week and not looking at the same old junk over and over again. Not gonna lie I was starting to get overwhelmed, and it is pretty dusty in there. It's super stuffed with so many books and other physical media. I appreciate that they have a classics section on the first floor to easily look for the most popular books, and I found one book to buy. I love that they are truly dedicated to used and rare books. There's so much to discover here. They also have some postcards and vintage valentine cards at the front, which I looked through and found one I liked. The prices are great too, and they also have a few free books near the entrance.

Prices were a bit higher than they should have been - "nothing books" (by which I mean used paperbacks with nothing noteworthy to them) were around $3-6. Obviously not going to break the bank, but they were the sort of books you could find for a dollar or less at a yard or library sale. One other bummer is that they do have a collection of rare books, but they're housed at a different location. All the titles can be seen on their website, but it's naturally so much more fun to view in person. Overall a cool place, and absolutely worth a visit. We all have had off days. He agreed to honor the gift card. He's not a bad guy and I'd like to chalk this up to a misunderstanding. He's a small business owner and im glad that we could resolve this issue amicably.

First, the owner is this righteous dude named Richie, who is super friendly and extremely helpful. Second, he had an excellent collection for great prices. The inventory was well-loved by previous owners. We chatted quite a bit about his classical bins that don't get the attention they deserve and the beauty of the music captured on those vinyl discs. Finally, THIS IS A LOCAL BUSINESS THAT DESERVES OUR RESPECT AND SUPPORT. While it may be significant that some record companies are reissuing vinyl, the prices can be outrageous at times, the reissues are limited, and sometimes, the new issues aren't quite engineered to the previous old-school standards. Alternatively, you can spend months combing through consignment and antique stores with small collections of records of unknown quality. Folks like Richie preserve an artistic legacy for us all simply out of passion. We need to step up and make sure that such stores thrive.
