They also have some collectibles and plushies. Toward the back they have a small selection of board games. They have space in the back with tables and chairs for meet-ups and gaming nights. Also to support this they have snacks and beverages for sale at a reasonable price. I was greeted by the employee when I entered, and he kindly asked if I was looking for anything and to let him know if I needed any help. I appreciated his acknowledgement, yet hands-off-ness since I was just there to do a little light browsing to get a feel for what was there. (I did almost buy my husband a mug for the upcoming holidays, as it was Critical Role themed and he's a fan of that series.) You could definitely find gifts for friends here. Dreamers also offers all military/vets/first responders a 10% discount daily, if you happen to fall into any of those categories.

To whom it may concern…read more.. My partner and I moved into the neighborhood around April of last year. This was our first time living in the big city and luckily was able to find an apartment pretty quickly and that so happened to be right across the street from your store Level Up Games. As avid gamers and MTG players this was a great resource to have and a safe space to meet new people, make friends, and establish ourselves in the community. After my partner had been going on Wednesdays to MTG night for a while he learned that you all provided free DND sessions to anyone that wanted to break into table top games. This was something out of my comfort zone and I had been going through a emotional transition from this being my first big move away from home and everyone I used to know to moving here and kind of having to start over essentially. It was hard for me. My partner found this outlet for us to explore together and it started out great we were going regularly every week, we were learning something new, and having fun doing it. Eventually we were going enough that we had made a couple of really good friends there. Unfortunately there ended up being a situation where my partner had to endure a few instances of racism directed towards him by one of the DMs of the Mead Halls Mightiest at Level Up Games. It started off with small things like, speaking up with corrections only when my partner had any input, making back handed insults about his intelligence, also putting handicaps on character creation where other people did not. This lead into more intense behavior such as avoiding DMing sessions in which he would be at the table, isolating him and his friend group to were they had to play sessions only with themselves, and defaming his personal character to the other DMs to cause a rift of distrust in order to get rid of him. This had been going on for a while and after one session were there where some content where we were trying to get some elementals vacation time to visit their families because this Spa owner had them sign a contract were they had to work for her forever. Anyways, this lead to a huge argument where my partner called them out and asked what their problem was. They went on to explain that it was because he makes other people playing the game uncomfortable. They had went on the explain that in one instance he had copied their charter creations in order to make the same kind of character. He also was accused of in acting what seemed like sexual assault on an NPC. Their words Ver Batam. This of course is in accusation of the only African American that comes to these things and this was the only DM that ever had a problem with my partner. This lead with the head of the Mead Hall backing all their lies and instead of promoting a safe space of equally and inclusion they kicked us out and tried banning us from the store in which they had no power. In conclusion we thought leaving Tennessee would mean less racism and more acceptance, but turns out racism is everywhere and you have to keep your eyes out and not turn a blind eye. It's a shame you don't have leaders of the Mead Hall that can be bold enough to hold down the principals of your establishment. Dungeons and Dragons is a game that accepts everyone no matter where you come from, what you look like, what race or sexuality you are. It's a shame that it wasn't reflected at your establishment due to a small few. Thank you.

I can't tell you how many other comic shops I've stopped at that don't have what I need but since Level Up is smaller they always have what I want in stock (you think it would be the opposite!) Games have become more costly as the years go on but that's normal for everything we purchase. I sadly don't trade in much anymore since they were oversaturated with PS4's when I was selling mine but my past experiences have been great and they were always my go to for new games I was on the hunt for - I love supporting them! Over the years they have recommended books that I've fallen in love with and always have fun board games to choose from if I'm looking for fun gifts. A staple place in the Cities for me for sure, staff are always so kind and helpful.

Y'all KNOW if there's a new game store in town I have to show up to scout out the situation…read more Spoiler alert: this one is a WIN. R - Really cool owner. I choose my game shops largely based on interactions with the staff. They can make or break your experience. Mikey was incredibly inviting and upbeat - definitely made us want to come back! O - Opportunity to meet other people that love to game. Rockhopper drew a pretty decent crowd for being open such a short time. Can't wait to see it on a busy day. C - Commander nights on Saturdays and Tuesdays starting at 4pm. Most places start later and make it tough to work into your schedule. This is a huge win for me. K - Knowledge. There is nothing worse than a game store owner that knows nothing about games. Mikey had all the information pertaining to games, sets, scheduling, and his clientele. He's a real one. H - Hangover commander. Yes. Sundays are the day for hangover commander, D&D, and whatever else people are feeling like after a rough Saturday night. We love to see it. O - Open to everyone. As they should be. Happy Pride Month! P - Penguin theme. Self explanatory. P - Pretty good selection of comics, singles, board games, and other various game related items. E - Environment. The location and the vibe were very cool to us. It's nice to have a gaming location outside of the cities that is doing everything right! R - Raffles. Always fun. To conclude: we were pumped to find this spot. I'm curious to see how they'll handle busy times as it's a bit on the smaller side - but I imagine they'll have it all figured out. If I can order singles to this store - it's game over. Go check it out!

The store is also a gaming store that seems to specialize in Magic: the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. This past few months has seen major changes in the diversity of merchandise offered. The game store seems to have one of the best selections of gaming miniatures in the area. And recently started to offer paints and everything a budding hobbyist would need. There is a small gaming area where gamers rub elbows as a handful of games could be going on at once. I'm not sure if it is intentional, but the comfortable vibe and excitement overheard about the latest merchandise Is a nostalgic nod to the game stores of the 80s and 90s. The owner is dedicated to the comic and gaming business. He's always there to answer questions, hunt for any special requests or offer a recommendation. Overall, a solid store that is taking strides to be even better. It would be worth checking into this "best kept secret" because it is a fabulous locally-owned business worth supporting.

It's possibly the best location geographically within the Twin Cities. There's a plethora of new games inventory, including dice, paints, and other do-dads that any gamer needs or wants. There's an amazing selection of snacks, drinks, and ice cream at a reasonable price. The Cafe Menu is also very good and priced well. Sadly, I will be leaving this part of my life behind, moving out of state. I will miss the friends and acquaintances I've made, and people I meet whenever I'm here. Lastly, this place has become a home away from home every Saturday I'm in the store. Thanks Mike, Craig, and BGC Staffers.
