I found the car with the specifications I wanted from cars.com listed at this dealer but I was hesitant to drive from SF to Fremont. The last few cars I bought were from craigslist and couldn't be happier. I loathe going to car dealerships, I especially thought these smaller lots would have even slimier car salesman. I was happy that when we arrived the car was still there and the guy (Rami?) wasn't pushy at all. He was running around helping a few other people so he didn't keep asking us questions and trying to "sell" the car. He gave us the keys for a test drive by ourselves and off we went. When we returned we had questions which he answered and even went down on the price just a bit, it was at a great price to begin with. He told us we'd need to get new tires for the car or he could drop the price a bit more and we'd get our own tires. That raised some concerns because the car is a 2006 with only 23.400 miles so why did it need new tires? Usually tires get more mileage than just 23k miles, we asked if the tires were original or switched and he couldn't answer that. I had run my own carfax before arriving (he also gave me a free one) and it had a good history plus it was serviced at the SF Honda dealership so I called them before going down. That gave me some reassurance. We settled on a price (I'd be getting the tires changed myself) and the buying process went pretty smooth and quick. A few things to make sure... * the front license plate was in the trunk so we asked them to put it on and they did. * we double checked the spare tire and it wasn't in there. they got a new one and put it in. don't assume it's in there. * i received two keys to the car but both seem to be valet keys. i didn't find this out until a week later. when i called to ask them if they had the main key or could get me a main key they said they couldn't. they have what they gave me. that's a bummer because the trunk latch in the car is locked and i can't unlock it with a valet key. to get a new Honda key is going to cost me $200. Check all the details before you leave! Overall it was a decent experience at the lot. read more

Sam (Samir) is a great person! My wife and I really enjoyed our experience with Sam. Additionally, the Prius he sold us was a great deal for such a clean car. We got one of the best deals in the bay! Trust me, I was searching from Santa Cruz to Sacramento and test drove in both areas (I live in Brentwood and San Jose - depending on job demand). Buying a popular car can be discouraging as the classic 'supply and demand' equation plays a major role in the attitude of the dealership / car salesman. It also makes for a less then pleasant bargaining stance, as cars with obvious damage are still pushed at high prices and arrogant attitudes. Not so with Galaxy European! ahh the best car dealership ever!! Samir or "sam" was the man who talked to my dad about the car. He's a very very nice patient guy. His office is covered with drawings from previous customers. My dad bought me the 06 honda civic car and I LOVE IT! If you purchase a car through Sam before you drive your new car he'll ask you 3 questions I think about driving like how far should you stay behind the car in front and I forgot the rest. THe restrooms are located in the very back to your left. It'll say "restroom" on the door. Don;t worry about the smell too. There's always air freshner sprays and the wax thing. Samir is there best. Bad customer service. Told us that he's willing to negoiate but when we threw our cash offer on his 2008 silver tacoma that he post for 17,999, we offer him 15g cash and he went berserk. What kind of customer service is that. He then yell t us to get out of his lot. I mean what the f, we're willing to cash out 15g and he went totally crazy. I love this place! I found the car that I ended up purchasing on craigslist, and went to test drive it the next day, it drove really well and was reasonably priced, I decided to get it and the whole purchasing experience went very smoothly. This is the first time that I have went to a dealer to buy a car and I could not be happier, I will be going back to Galaxy European when its time to get another car. Thanks to one of the other reviews for this place, I also noticed that the key that I received was only for the doors and the ignition, but did not work on the trunk. Thankfully I said something before driving away and Samir was happy to assist with the process of getting two new master keys from a Honda Dealership, and gladly offered to pay for half of the cost. My overall experience was absolutely wonderful and the 2003 Accord that I purchased drives and looks excellent! Found this place via Craigslist. The Honda CRV I went to look at was priced extremely fair - so fairly that I thought it was one of those 'too good to be true' deals. The car was extremely clean and everything checked out in the end, Sam even shared the story for why the car was priced what it was (which I thought was refreshing and honest of him). I got a good deal on my car back in December 2009 (or 10?) (2000 Honda black CR-V) and Samir was very nice and didn't try to pull one over on me, unlike the other used car dealerships I went to prior. I was torn between two cars and he recommended I pick this one... It was the perfect choice! It has run smoothly and very well for a car that I *got* with $138,000 miles on it. I was very pleased with the service. He wasn't willing to negotiate much past the price online, but it was good, around Kelly Blue Book value. Only bad thing, my trunk door must have been replaced from a different model, because the key does not work on it, you have to pull the latch in front to pop the trunk. I didn't get a key FOB but I bought two off of a Honda replica site for $66 and they work perfectly and open my trunk with the trunk pop button! Also, one of the latches that holds up my trunk keeps slipping and doesn't work anymore. But for a 13 year old car with $180,000+ miles on it, I think that's pretty good. I did have to replace the CO2 sensor last year, and that was ~$700, but other than that it hasn't needed any work done besides regular maintenance. ETA: You should still not take anyone's word for something on Yelp. There is always a risk with used cars and it is best to have a mechanic you trust look it over ASAP so you don't get blind sighted by any issues. read more

Unhappy, very bad experience. worst car dealer I have met. please stay away from this dealer if you can. I bought a Volvo S40 from Samir last month. I paid $5100 for something that looked good on the outside. I got carried away with the nice comments he received from others on yelp. He made all kinds of promises and that it works great. It ran for a month and broke down to a grinding halt. I have to spend additional $1030 for fixing it when Samir said it was inspected and promised that it was a great buy. He is untrust worthy. Dont falll for his sweet talk!!! Worse, before I bought the car, he would always take my phone call. Today he picked up the first time and when I complained, he put me on hold for 10 mins and then hung up. I called twice after that and it would go to his voice mail. We just bought a 1999 Jetta GLS for our granddaughter from Sam . He was waiting, when we arrived a little late. He was extremely helpful & knowledgable. We test drove the car, and it ran perfectly. This was the cleanest VW of this era we looked at & we looked high and low. We went into Sam's office and the whole transaction was over in a 1/2 hour.Smog, license,tax & Ret to go.`The Carfax was clean. We even saw a car we might come back for my wife too. He even lowered the price for our granddaughters first car. Thanks Sam, Dale & Mere.... WOW !! What a week, or two can make in the difference in one's perspective !!! The previous post was only two days after we took possession of the Jetta. It was ALL downhill from there !! We were very clear with Sam about needing a dependable, low maintenance vehicle for our 17-yr. old granddaughter to commute to/from school/work. We didn't know any mechanics in the East Bay, as we live in on the west side of the bay so, we waited to get back home before having the car checked out. We spent almost $ 1200.00 to fix what was wrong. I called Sam to let him know of the unexpected troubles. He offered to buy the car back for the original price but, we had already spent an additional $1200.00 and (I guess) I was still hoping he had been honest with us initially (foolish on my part, in retrospect !) and that these additional repairs would resolve any lingering 'issues' that the car had been having up to this point. He offered to refund me $ 200.00, 1/6th the cost of the repairs. It wasn't too much longer when the car developed more 'problems' and was back at the mechanics. This time he did a more thorough inspection and found numerous problems with the VW Jetta. When he put the car up on the rack to check the underside, he said it was a mess. That it looked like someone had taken the car "off-roading" as, the under- carriage was badly dented, necessitating the installation of a new axle assembly on the front passenger side (an additional $434.11) and there was an extreme oil eak, a "too-small" battery installed in the engine area (cost us an additional $175.63 to put in the correct one), a missing oil dipstick, problems with the hoses not even attached properly. The mechanic also had to replace most of the engine fluids as, he said, the wrong product had been used. Initially, we paid $3145.00 for this car and, ended up paying out over $3500.00 in mechanical bills !! And, this wasn't the end of the car's problems. My granddaughter was only able to drive this car for 6 months before the transmission went completely out !! Got estimates on replac- ing the 'tranny' and was told somewhere between 4000 and 6000 dollars !! I feel that we were taken advantage of, lied to and deceived throughout this entire ordeal. "Sam", in my opinion, is everything we all hate about "used car salesmen". And, they have that distainful reputation because of the dishonesty of the sales tactics used by such vultures. My family and I will NEVER do business again with that man, or Galaxy European !!! read more

My son needed a car as his was totaled in a car accident last September. His old Jetta really did it's job in keeping him alive, after he had been rear ended on hwy 17 at 65MPH by a 40 ft delivery truck, so he wanted another one. Easier said then done! His was a 98 which was a great little car, ran well, very reliable, and had purchased at a great price a few years ago. After a few months now of searching for one in great condition at a great price Wah lah! along comes this AD on Craigslist for a 2000 Jetta matching what my son's check list. Then off we go to Fremont. I was Leary as used cars and ones at a Broker tend to be overpriced and really pushy sales people, so I wasn't expecting it to turn out so pleasant! We get there and check out the car and I am thinking wow I hope it runs as good as it looks! We take it for a spin and agree he is going to buy it. We go back and the man is very happy and easy going, we head to his office and he sends his assistant(his 14 year old son who loves ot go to work with his Dad) out to get the numbers off the car while he fills out the forms. He was so nice and kind and explained everything, made the whole experience great! When we were leaving he said, your buying the car isn't the end of our relationship here, if you are happy then I'd like you to come back the next time you need a car, and please refer your friends. We were happy so now I am going to refer everyone who reads YELP reviews how cool is that? This really was the most pleasant car buying experience I have ever had! Sam's a Great Guy! But even more than that he saved me with the purchase of a Prius. I was commuting to San Jose from Concord and the cost of gas was killing me. I had been looking for a economy car for some time and everything seemed to be out of my reach. This car runs great and gets over 46 miles to a gallon. A few months back I purchased a vehicle (1999Lexus ES 300) here . Sam was very pleasant but unfortunately the day drove the car home the check engine light went on. I contacted Sam who said he was going to "help" me with the problem. I drove the car back and he checked the "code" which said it was a catalytic problem. Unfortunately, after a few calls to Sam the issue was never resolved, just playing telephone tag with no plan to tell me how he was going to help. Many times I asked to take the car on a test drive/to my mechanic and he let me take it with almost no hassle at all! I bought a 2002 Honda Cr-v for $8000 and it works wonderfully. I wont say whether the Dealer is a good or Worst dealer you would ever deal in entire US but decide urself with the experience shared and I pray/hope that no one ever does it to anyone. My case: I would like to share the worst thing happened to me in US and still trying to recollect what made me deal with a Person like SAM ( who is the owner of the shop). I went to buy the car for my work and needs. Its Toyota Matrix XR 06 and the same day I finalized the deal by paying the variable down payment considering the humbleness and seniority of the person. He shared that this car is the best you can get here and ensured that there was NO HIDDEN or any issues with the car after getting it THOROUGHLY Checked from his Mechanic. He would be sending the test and paper work as soon as he receives a cheque from Bank which I finalized for financing. After getting the car on Jan 8th 2013, for some reason I felt of getting it checked for my satisfaction as this was the first time I ever purchased a car in US. When I got the results on Jan 12th from local Japanese car experts, that there are many issues in the car and needs immediate attention. Costed me around $900 for getting them fixed. Replace Engine Belt,Tensioner with O-ring, Transmission Fluid ( which was dirty like i wasn't taken care for a long time and still been driven), Air Filter,Cabin Air Filter,License Light Bulbs,Power Steering Fluid Flush. I tried contacting SAM to ask him if he can cooperate in fixing this issue. I understand the warranty wasn't there with the car but If the car is not working as its suppose to then decide for yourself who is at fault. He told me that all was good the day I purchased and all of sudden all these things went bad. And I had used the car only to get from his shop to my home. Still I thought of paying the amount by my own in view of fixing it. Again, Jan 29th, the Engine check light came on and I went to the same Japanese car experts to have a look and recommend their inspection. They listed it could be a transmission issue which would be a big hit to my budget but would need to start with Soleniod replacement and see if that fixed the code. It costed anthor $750 and again SAM didnt bother to give a single callback to any of my calls. Again the check engine came back and I went to Toyota to check with them. Its the same code and there recommendations matched with the Japanese Expert team that if after replacing solenoid the issue recurrs than its a major issue with transmission and needs to be opened and looked at. That visit to Toyota costed appr $300 and they gave the quote for fix as $4300. I thought of holding off and send SAM another email mentioning about this check engine again. Didnt got any replies. And I realized that I was risking my life while driving with check engine light. Still trying to look for my options of getting my money back from SAM. If considering to buy a car from him ensure that you have a Medical insurance for your life.And here I am with my life is danger while driving the car. Decide for Yourself! read more

I went there looking for a reliable car. Sam is very nice and welcoming, typical of the middle-eastern culture. Awesome. All the cars that I've seen there are working. However, I should warn you that you'd better know something about cars. This is not a "plug-and-play" dealership where you drive away ready to go to LA. The engines are often a bit oily and you'd better have a trusted mechanic to check if it's something serious or not. He is not an expert. He takes used cars and put them back in shape with his mechanic and as soon as it runs he puts it for sale. In other words, I think he will tell you the truth and what he knows about the car. Sometimes he doesn't know much. You are then fully responsible for what you buy. I personally don't like this and I know enough about cars to know that an oily engine is not a good sign. If you're good with cars, go check the cars. You'll find good deals I'm sure. If you're a soccer Mom, run away, you'll end up resentful for something he didn't do to you. read more
