My 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L started showing 4WD service dash light and it showed C1463-94 (Star case S2503000001). This is how it went... Thu 4/2/2026: Took my Jeep to Fremont CDJR for service. Mind you that this Jeep has been to this dealership for regular servicing for the last 50k miles since I bought it. Showed my dash light to the advisor and he starts the doom and gloom talk on how this can be due to transmission issues and when I did the transmission flush, etc. So I asked him a simple question that if it's really needed and then how come they didn't do it before as the Jeep has always been serviced here, well no answer to that question as expected. But that's fine because I know that's not the issue. SA calls me towards the end of the day and confirms that FAD needs replacement (that's expected) but here's the fun part, he claims it's possibly caused by "oversized custom wheels" so warranty will not cover it and it will be out of pocket! Then I ask him why he thinks it's oversized because my aftermarket wheels are the same exact size as the OEM Summit trim and then the story starts changing. He tells me that once the tech has written it on the service manual he can't change it....but, here's the best part...I told him that I have the stock wheels and tires so he asks me to bring it back with stock wheels and tires and they can POTENTIALLY fix it. Ok, I mean I thought your tech change the writing but how come the whole diagnosis will change once I change the wheels??? Fri 4/3/2026: Picked up my Jeep and they charge me $325 + credit card fee for the (wrong) diag. Attached picture of the wheels that I took when I picked up my Jeep showing the wheels/tire size. Thu 4/16/2026: Took my Jeep to Walnut Creek CDJR, same wheels/tires and no change. SA there called me after 2 hours that issue is confirmed to be FAD related and they will fix it under my Mopar extended warranty and it will be ready to pickup by next day. Fri 4/17/2026: Picked up the Jeep from Walnut Creek CDJR, paid them $200 deductible for the Mopar extended warranty. Picture of the Jeep at the Walnut Creek CDJR delivery bay showing that I had the same wheels/tires as before when they fixed my Jeep Mon 4/19/2026: SA from Walnut Creek CDJR calls to and lets me know that they refunded my $200 because it was fixed under the powertrain warranty. Mon 4/27/2026: Called Fremont CDJR and asked them politely if I can have an appointment with the service department manager because I would like to discuss about my previous service (as I want to get a refund of the $325 for the wrong diag). She pulls up my record and confirms that it's for the 4/4 appointment. She then tells me that the service manager will call me. Been a week and never got a call from them! The service department is literally running a scam and refusing warranty work so they can charge people for the parts and labor. Never taking my Jeep back to this dealer again! read more

Giving 2 stars because the issue was eventually fixed on the second attempt, but the overall experience raised serious concerns about transparency and professionalism. I was told the car was "fixed" when it wasn't, suggesting a $4049 service, later charged more than the invoice total, and prevented from reviewing billing details at pickup and humiliated by not being able to read English. Here is the story. I brought my Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid in on April 7 because the fuel door would not open and the check engine light was on. Later that same day, I was told the car was fixed and ready for pickup, and I was not charged. At that point, I was also encouraged to consider a $4049 $90k service package," which I declined. When I picked up the car, I immediately realized the issue had not been fixed at all. The fuel door was still broken, and the only thing done was clearing the check engine light. I had no choice but to leave the car there again. On Wednesday, I received a call with a repair quote and was told that parts would only be ordered after I approved the work. I had an upcoming trip and limited time, so when they later texted me to approve $1586, I approved without being given much additional detail. I was informed on Saturday that the repair was completed. When I said I was still out of town and would return the following week, I was told "take your time," with no mention of any urgency or storage policy. When I returned on April 15 to pick up the car, the total was over $1662.34, and I was asked to sign first. Only at the time of payment was I told that the listed price applied to cash, and that a 3% fee would be added for credit card payments, leaving me with no real choice. While trying to understand the charges, I picked up a document on the desk, which appeared to contain a more detailed breakdown. As I was reading it, an employee took it out of my hands. When I tried to continue reviewing it, the employee held onto it and refused, saying it was "confidential." A manager and other staff members were then called over, and I was surrounded and pressured instead of being given a clear explanation. I was also told they could have charged $300 per day in storage fees, despite previously telling me to "take my time." During the interaction, I was spoken to in a demeaning way, including the comment "Can't you read?" As an Asian woman, being surrounded by multiple staff members, prevented from reviewing documents, and spoken to in that manner was a very uncomfortable and intimidating experience. I'm sharing this so others can be aware and ask for clear breakdowns, written policies, and full transparency upfront. A formal complaint was filed to The Bureau of Automotive Repair as well. read more

There's a reason they are 3 stars Bad team, bad customer service I got a call from them saying I needed to come in to replace a mirror, I assured them my mirrors were fine and if they could tell me what exactly it was that needed to be replaced, the person on the phone couldn't tell me why it needed to be replaced but to come in cause there was a ticket open and they needed to swap it. So I made an appointment and showed up, again I asked why the mirror was being replaced and which one, the service rep had no idea about any mirror and said my mirrors where fine and asking ME WHY MY MIRROR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED! YOU CALLED ME ! I had no idea either but you had me book an appointment and drive out here to get it replaced so here I am. He went inside to talk to his manager and the manager took a look said the mirrors where fine and said "sorry for you time" no one checked any computers, to see what the ticket says or why I was called in the first place. And despite seeing how frustrated I was that I got called out here for nothing they didn't do anything to make the moment right. Definitely never getting my car serviced here and would tell everyone to stay away from here as they don't have communication with each other and don't value your time as a customer read more

I asked him for an out-the-door price and he came back to me with a price tag over $45,000. Deserves no stars.. Absolutely unacceptable service at Fremont CDJR. I was called to pick up my vehicle , only to arrive and be told it wasn't ready and I have to wait more, wasting nearly 2 hours of my time. Service Advisor and Service Director offered dismissive excuses ("human error," "same name/car coincidence") and unprofessional customer handling. Staff talked to me (gaslighting) as if I "misheard" the pick-up confirmation. A simple "free oil change" was offered as if it is a favor, does not compensate for the significant operational chaos, lack of accountability, and rude behavior received. Service Advisor was visibly upset and rude towards me when all the fault was from their side. Avoid this service department. read more

For a lease. They found a way to trick me into thinking they were throwing in some Maintenance package for free. When obviously they already factored it in to my inflated price. Low balled my trade in , 8 thousand less than Kelly blue book. I have tier 1 credit. I Asked about interest and money factor, but they redirected the questions. Then later I realized the 8% plus APR. Fremont is a million miles from Oakland. It's like in another time zone it's so far. And you have to drive on 880 to get there which means you'll either be stuck in traffic for a year of your life or get to watch a side show. That's what I told Erlinda, the service manager with whom I came to be acquainted this week. This was the reason they've not seen me since I bought my ride from them in 2016. This is why my regular services as recommended are rarely completed by them. Or anyone else for that matter. So I rang them up because there was a recall notice that sounded meaningful and made an appointment via the seamless easy to navigate website and voila a week later there I was making excuses to Erlinda. But she was cool about it and because of this I wanted to please her bc I am a pleasing kind of fellow. So we added several services to the recall which meant I had to leave the rig overnight but they gave me a solid loaner (not the Hellcat unfortunately bc they knew I'd be doing a solo sideshow on Balentine if they did) and off I went home. Picked it up the next day with all ordered done and zero surprises. I wanted to take her picture for this review then thought no, don't be creepy. So just fuzz your eyes and imagine a service angel and you'll probably get pretty close on your own. My buying experience moons ago was pleasant and hassle free. I called this dealership as a first time buyer on a Monday (5/5/25) afternoon telling them I was interested in a M5, as Xavier took my phone call. We spoke about me showing up to the dealership on Thursday and set an appointment for 1:30pm. Mind you I live in Los Angeles(357 miles away).. I drove 5 hours here agreeing with Xavier if a good enough deal I would make a more than a good down payment. He agreed with me stating "Thursday" was his day off but insisted he would should up to make me a great deal. He even gave me his personal number to confirm. Here I am on Thursday, texted Xavier in advance that I was showing up to confirm, as he did.However he NEVER SHOWED UP.!! I spoke to another salesman and began speaking numbers. He came back to me ran my credit (clean record/ 782 credit score) and somehow ONLY because I am a first time buyer I have a 9% APR.! After willing to do a 6k down payment! How does this make any sense.? Not only that, they also placed the price of the car for 2000$+ on the market after me making that phone call with Xavier. The ONLY DEAL they had for me was setting the PRICE BACK TO ORIGINAL PRICE when first contacted on Monday. This is one of the worst situations I've ever been yet alone customer service I've ever had. After an hour of going back and forth of getting "a bank " to finance me the manager comes out to tell me the "best" he can do is have me make a bigger down payment. This people made drive down here to get no deal whatsoever. The car has scratches all over, all 4 rims included. It has 3 parts where there is chipped paint. Which was NEVER shown...I'm not even mad I'm just more disappointed with the fact they didn't help me out at all with much at all. Maybe it was my age ,or my height.... In all seriousness don't come here if you're willing to try to negotiate for any car. They care more about big a downpayment that will go to them and half the car. Lease Return Scam! Extremely unprofessional and very disappointing experience with Fremont Chrysler Jeep dealer. Called Fremont Jeep to schedule my leased Wrangler return. Since I didn't lease from them, they flat out refused, saying they had "no space." This is completely unacceptable for an authorized Jeep dealership. If they can't handle something as basic as a lease return, it shows how little they value their customers. The truth is they don't want to deal with it since there's no profit in lease returns. That's not just bad service, it's a violation of Chrysler's dealership obligations. A dealer like this shouldn't even be representing the brand. Very bad, they charge a flat $410 for a simple diagnostic of check engine code. They have the audacity to ask if I would like to pre-approve up to $820 for any "potential repairs", allowing them to spend money without telling me what the issue is. Why would anyone agree to this?! Anyway, I agreed to the $410 and they found an issue, fixed it, turned off the check engine light and sent me away. Next day I took my car to a smog test and failed multiple times because this dealership did not explain that resetting the check engine light will result in various sensors to stop working until you go through several drive cycles. The headaches that followed is what results in this 1 star. I had already stopped coming to this location in the past and once again will never come back. By the way, I bought my own obd scanner and will work with my local mechanic on any future issues. read more

They do not allow you to take vehicles for pre-purchase inspection, even though the car was completely out of warranty, previously a rental, purchased at an auction, and sold AS-IS. I kept asking about it and they were evasive and dismissive: "why do you need that" "the car has already been inspected". The sales rep Muhammad even started yelling at me to the point that I asked to speak to a manager. The manager was "Bunny". So, I saw a BMW X3 that I wanted on Car Gurus. I inquired and Jose called me to set up an appointment. I showed up at the appointment and test drove the car. I would say that the process went well. I can't complain. Jose was very personable. It took some negotiating, but I ended up getting the vehicle. I signed the contract with Reza. Ok..done deal. A few days after I purchased the vehicle, I felt like at high speed the car shimmied a little bit. When I test drove it, I didn't feel it because I didn't want to drive 80 miles an hour with Jose in the car. I didn't want to scare him to death. I was aware that on a used vehicle, they don't offer any warranties. But, I called at least 6 times (I'd only had the car for 3 days) to see if they could take a look at it for me out of courtesy. They all (at least 3 sales people) said, sure we can do that for you. Then they kept referring me to Jose. I spoke with Jose who was supposed to call me back. I NEVER heard back from Jose. This was very UNPROFESSIONAL! At least he could have said to me, I'm sorry we can't do that. At least do what you say and make a simple call back to me. I thought we had a good rapport. But I guess it was only to make the sale. Please be aware of their used car warranty policy. read more

Brought my Jeep for a taillight check and recall 2 weeks ago. The recall parts weren't ready yet but the service representative didn't inform me earlier. I left the Jeep for taillight replacement, nobody reached out to me regarding when they can fix it. I had to call 4 times the next day before I was able to get a status that the taillight part wasn't there. When I picked up the Jeep I was told that parts will arrive in 2 days and someone will reach out to me. It has been 2 weeks and no information. The service manager texted me about reviewing their service I texted back with all the details, but no response either. Since I brought the Jeep back I am hearing clunking noises and Yesterday my Jeep started wobbling on the highway which I am suspecting is because they messed something up while diagnosing. read more

I scheduled an appointment to have my work truck diagnosed for a heat/AC warranty issue. During the scheduling process, I explicitly stated the size of the truck multiple times to ensure it could be accommodated at this facility. Upon arrival at the facility for the appointment, after an hour drive to get there, my team was turned away by the service manager. She met my team with an unprofessional, dismissive and completely unhelpful attitude despite the fact an error was made and acknowledged by her scheduling team. The service manager's behavior was cold and unyielding as she refused to consider any alternate solutions, even after a service advisor suggested the diagnosis could very simply be performed outside. This experience was a significant inconvenience and waste of time and resources for my small business. It also exhibits poor leadership, values and a lack in customer service skills at this facility. We won't return but please do better for the next person. read more

Hi Tony, I think you know that you will not, I repeat, will not be receiving a good review. I've been trying to be patient with you and understanding that you went through a change. However, you have failed to follow up with the customer service one would expect. I've continued to work with you after your service person Anthony told me to "go fuck myself" simply for insisting that he be more detailed on my invoice. If he had you could have included the exhaust manifold replacement on the same warranty claim. Instead, you guys decided to replace both exhaust manifolds even though only one replacement was needed. Then I find out that Anthony didn't call to get approval for the exhaust manifolds but he ordered the parts and told me to bring my Jeep in. Now you have had my Jeep since 4/22, it has been broken down to install the new parts but you can't do it until you get approval. But you haven't closed out the first claim from February. I've driven about 4,000 miles since then. I wonder if speaking to the GM will help my situation? Do I need to contact someone outside of the dealership for assistance? Are you trying to compile enough maintenance work to exceed the value of my Jeep so they will void my Mopar maintenance contract? So many questions have surfaced and the only answer is that you need to speak with different people because you, the manager, are not aware of what is going on. I would think that as a manager you would have been following up with Anthony on a daily basis to ensure that the service, for a customer of that dealership for over 20 years, would be complete in a timely manner. Instead, this service has been dragging since the end of January when former employee Linda started it. I look forward to first claim being closed so this second claim being completed. We were in the market for a PacHy. I spoke to several dealers in the Bay Area and this dealership was the most responsive. Reyes explained about the different trims available. He respected me taking my time to make this decision without calling me everyday and pushing me to make a purchase. The main thing I liked about their dealership is that they don't work for commission. When I said I only wanted a touring L with the safety sphere, they didn't even try to convince me to purchase the limited that had all the features and was available in their lot. They respected my budget. Alejandro went out of the way to help me out. He found a dealership that had one with my requirements and purchased it for me. Saehee ju went over the terms with me even before I signed a contract. They definitely looked into all the banks and worked with the one that would best fit my situation! I did receive quotations between $800-1200 with the other dealers. Alejandro took his time, reviewed all the banks and gave me a quote significantly lesser than the others. Uncalled for! Manager called my husband a "terrorist" and "bully" after we wouldn't agree to added protection plan. My husband and I recently visited Jeep Chrysler in Newark, CA, after finding what seemed to be a great deal online. We went to test drive the vehicle and, after some discussion, agreed to the online sales price. However, we chose to decline the additional protection plans and warranties. The salesperson, Sam, ran my husband's credit for financing. We had to request a copy of the credit report and when provided, the report was handed over with visible frustration from the sales team mentioning it is not something they typically do. After waiting for the final numbers, we were given a piece of paper that only listed the agreed sales price and monthly payment and were asked to sign it without being shown any other details. We asked for a breakdown of the payment, as the total was higher than our own calculations. After some resistance, they finally provided the breakdown, revealing an additional $4,200 charge for "accessories"--which turned out to be the very protection plans we had originally declined. The manager then came over to speak with us and explained that the website's price did not include these mandatory add-on protection plans. This felt like an attempt to disguise the true cost of the vehicle and pressure us into signing something we didn't fully understand. We were deeply disappointed by this lack of transparency. The situation took an unfortunate turn when, after my husband mentioned he might leave a negative review on Yelp, the manager escalated the conversation in an unprofessional manner. He called my husband a "terrorist" and a "bully"--remarks that were both inappropriate and completely uncalled for. It's hard to believe that such behavior came from someone in a leadership position. The younger sales staff, Sam and Jose, seemed like genuine and respectful individuals, but they were clearly being led by someone who was quick to anger and unprofessional in his approach to handling customer concerns. This experience has left us not only disappointed but also concerned about how the dealership operates. We have no intention of doing business with them, nor would we recommend anyone else do so under these circumstances. At the very least, the dealership should reevaluate its leadership and how it treats its customers. No one should be subjected to such poor service or behavior when making a major purchase. read more
