Three stars for 4yrs of 5-star service averaged-out by one very bad experience at the end...
As a 4-yr residential customer of GPC, Inc, it was my expectation to be afforded prompt and reliable pest control services. Unfortunately, and commencing with Bug Season 2016, my complaints with them took the form of the following:
1) I found it had become increasingly difficult to schedule a convenient appt for continued services. I am 65, functionally disabled and require a flexible accommodation in order to prepare even adequately for treatment.
2) After this year's unsuccessful attempts to sequence regular treatment for the interior, I called once again on 4/18 and requested EXPLICITLY to be scheduled for Termidor. Some of you may know Termidor (or its equivalent) is an absolute necessity for an aging doublewide in the Sand Hills. I was very, very clear about this, mentioning it twice and confirming it at the last with the person to whom I spoke. The technician showed up at our place promptly as usual on the appointed date and time....excepting he showed up without the Termidor. As I intercepted him, he was already in the process of applying non-Termidor pest-control product to the exterior where Termidor should have been applied.
3) When confronted with the incongruity of the present situation, he couldn't've cared less. No one told him anything about Termidor. Had I even mentioned it to them? I was asked this question twice. He did reassure me their office was reliable and professional. Also that they were very busy right then with only three technicians working residential. Call to reschedule. I asked him, Well can you come back today or tom'w with the Termidor? No dice. Call to reschedule. No explanation I could live with, no offer of an accommodation, nothing. I declined any further services from Gainesville Pest Control and at that point parted company.
4) Several attempts to contact Mr John Scott the proprietor failed to produce a connection. I did eventually speak with someone in authority, a Mrs Lynette Scott, who identified herself as wife and part owner of Gainesville Pest Control. Although she did sort of concede something or other (We made a mistake..."), this person was very aggressive and contentious toward me when I called. Almost immediately she commenced to biting my head off while offering precious little in the way of an explanation and nothing like an apology.
What should've been routine visit #12 from Gainesville Pest Control deteriorated rapidly into the admittedly regrettable situation it remains. Now the destructive carpenter ants are back en masse. What with all the difficulty I've had trying to get reliable, professional pest control service in Gainesville, maybe I'll just tear the porch down myself and save them the trouble. read more
