I needed help with the exterior of my house, replacing a section of paneling damaged by water. Chris came out and gave an extremely affordable estimate and we setup a time to complete the work Today we connected and he got the job done in a colder than expected morning. He is knowledgeable in what he does, and he works very efficiently. I'm very pleased with all aspects of this experience. Chris stands out from other handyman businesses. If he tells you he will show up at 9:00AM, you'll be able to set your watch with his arrival. He is very professional and friendly. He is honest and trustworthy and has very reasonable rates. I found Chris Gage on the internet and he had some great reviews. We hired him for a challenging project - hanging a 50# wooden plaque 15' up on a wall. Chris was able to fit us into his schedule within days and was very calm and professional as he tried to figure the best way to hang the plaque. Complicating the process was that what we thought was a wall made of steel studs and drywall turned out to be drywall mounted on a concrete wall. A quick trip to the hardware store and Chris was up to the challenge. Despite having 3 or 4 "sidewalk superintendents" offering advise. I would highly recommend Chris for any handyman project. I would highly recommend Gage's Handyman Services for mounting your TV! I found Chris through Yelp when I was looking for someone to mount our TV above our fireplace. He was communicative and helpful during the planning phase. I asked for a recommendation of a TV wall mount, and he quickly sent over a couple options for us to evaluate. Since we didn't have much context for what was out there, his advice helped us make an informed and affordable decision. On the day of service, he confirmed my availability and offered to come earlier than anticipated, which worked well for us. Chris and his son showed up promptly with all the tools needed. Moreover, searching the Internet for positive reviews can be a mixed bag trying to rely on feedback from others. I retained Chris's services to fix all the front shutters in the front of our house that were damaged due to a bad storm that went through our area a few weeks back, He did a magnificent job in fixing them but I also asked that he paint them all as well to give them some fresh curb appeal. I had Gage stop out to install some outlets and install a new circuit and I have to say it was a fantastic experience! He managed to get the job done in half amount of the time that I expected and charged a very fair rate. Friendly and cordial, and pays close attention to detail. For example, I had some old panels in the ceiling I was worried about getting destroyed and he took note of this and removed them carefully and replaced them when the job was done. He went above and beyond our expectations! I've already recommended him to a couple friends and I will be certainly reaching back out to him in the future if I need any more work done. Chris did so many projects for us. He replaced a ceiling fan, installed two dog doors in doors where he had to completely cut a hole in the door. He put up Motion lights, outdoor lighting, cleaned the gutters, repaired gate latches, replaced bathroom vanity lights and then he built me a wooden box for my kitchen table. I called the Theater People to service the speakers knowing that it was well beyond the warranty. They came and found a chipmunk chewed threw one of the wires. They also found that the speakers had a lifetime warranty. They ordered the replacement speaker and came about a week later to install it. The idea came to me that a specialist in home entertainment systems may be able to help me, This was last Saturday so I called Custom Automation Technologies, Inc. in New Albany who were open until 6 pm. The owner, Dan Hoehnen, answered my call, talked with me about my system, and said he would come out that same afternoon and take care of it. Which he did, for about 1.5 hours he skillfully integrated a Roku stick into my mini-network which consists of an 11 year old plasma TV, a DVR, Spectrum cable box, a 11 year old DVD player all controlled by an 11 year old Bose Life Style sound system. Others had failed at this integration task, but Dan knew exactly what had to be done. He explained every step as he worked so that when he was finished I had full Roku capability on my system. He also explained how I should access and use the new feature, even helping me to document every step in the process. To top it off, he invited me to call him anytime I have a problem or a question. In summary, I could not be happier with the service provided by Mr. Hoehnen and CATI. The service was fast, expert, courteous and totally effective. Thank you, Dan and CATI! That guy, Matt, and the later handyman were friendly and efficient. Then another few weeks till they came out. I got the disposal and they installed it, plus added a plug under the sink and fixed the wall switch. Took an hour or so. This is the only handyman our dogs haven't barked at when they got here, and never did. He said he has dogs, but sometimes ours go nuts no matter what, on just hearing or smelling a stranger. The roof took maybe half an hour. Again, professional and efficient. Prices seem a little high to me, but it's been awhile since I hired anyone so this may be the new normal. And I used to be able to do some of this stuff but can't now, so, I have to pay someone sometimes. Worth it to have it taken care of.

We have been taken advantage of many times in the past, so we were already tense about the entire thing. We found RJ Howard Electric and gave them a call. They open very early in the morning (7:30am) which is nice for stressed out folks like us! We spoke with Rick and explained the situation. He was able to schedule an appointment for 4:00pm later that day. Rick showed up right on time, 4 o'clock on the DOT, and called my hubby for more information on what what happening in mom's home. He went downstairs and checked her circuit breaker and after less than five minutes of investigating he already knew the issue. It was the line outside on the pole, which is an AEP problem. Not only did he call AEP for my mother and arrange for them to fix the outage, but he provided us with the ticket number so we could track the progress. On top of all the good news, he also only charged us a minimal fee for his services. We were so relieved and appreciative and cannot say enough good things about this company. We have some electrical issues at our house that we have been putting off over fear of getting taken advantage of, but it's comforting to know we have a reliable, honest electrician to call now!
