I had a really mixed experience with this jeweler. On one hand, they did a beautiful job creating my engagement ring--the craftsmanship is truly stunning, and I was genuinely happy with the design process, especially working with Gage. However, what should have been one of the most special moments of my life was unfortunately spoiled. The company posted my ring on their social media about two weeks before my fiancé proposed. Because I follow them, I ended up seeing it. At that point, I didn't even know the ring was finished or that a proposal was coming--my best friend had helped design it months earlier, so I had no reason to expect anything. When I reached out to express how upsetting this was, I was really disappointed in their response. Instead of taking accountability, they blamed me--saying I should have scrolled past it or blocked them ahead of time, as if I had any way of knowing when to do that. That response felt dismissive and lacked empathy. While the ring itself is gorgeous and parts of the experience were positive, the way this situation was handled left a lasting negative impression. I am absolutely appalled at the service I received from Gage. I was working with their director of sales the last few weeks (Frankie), who is in all the TikTok promotions. While working together I paid a memo to view two diamonds in person, and received the confirmation details However, due to tariffs Frankie then came back stating that they cannot honor their terms, and the only way to proceed would be for my to buy the stone outright without viewing. In addition, I would not be allowed to return Granted, I work in the supply chain industry and monitor the tariff regulations on a daily basis, which were given a 90 day extension I simply expressed my concern stating I felt that is not right, and would have no problem purchasing the stone I want to view, but if it is not what it seems, then I have the right to return From there, I received an email from their COO (David McCoy) informing me that they have reimbursed my memo, and will not be working with me As you can imagine, I was extremely taken back that the incompetent leaders at Gage would make a mistake, and then send me this email at 6pm when they close, ultimately running from the situation. The 3 stars are deducted from what COULD have been a 5 star review is all thanks to the short blonde hair gal that was extremely rude because I was a few minutes late due to going to their old location in the building (2nd floor) without NOTICE that they moved one floor up. I am giving 2 stars only bc they are giving me my money back. From day one communication with Gage and Lendfirm was poor and has been even worse since I have had an issue. We received the ring 02/27. I wore it for pictures 02/28 and did not put it on again until 03/06 when I returned to work. I wore it 4 days only while at work and took it off in the evenings. On 03/09 the center stone came out of the ring and we noticed an accent stone missing on the bezel. I attempted to call Gage twice that day I could not even leave a message bc the mailbox was full. No phone call to apologize for the inconvenience. No explanation as to why this would happen, what would cause the metal to be that weak. We were even told while the ring was being made the jeweler needed extra time to ensure the quality of the ring b/c it was not going to ship by the date they had given us. I feel the jeweler knew there was an issue and rather than calling to explain they made it and hoped for the best. Sadly they were a disappointment after all the stellar reviews. They are super nice while you are in the process of buying and building, but once the sale is complete don't expect anything. They are pretty much done with you. read more

Emailed company of the issue, and they just gave me the run around instead of providing replacement watches. Back and forth email chain of at least 10+ messages. Ending with me following up 3 separate times with no response. Last advice they gave me was to file a complaint with Fedex which I did. Fedex advised they have a contract with this business and all complaints must come from them, not a customer. I let them know that and they then asked for my case number I filed (again just to delay, maybe they thought I was kidding about filing) Then that was last message, me providing case number and a screenshot. I can't tell everyone enough the best service I've ever received from a business. I had been searching for quite some time for the perfect engagement ring for my girlfriend. Went to all the regular places like Jerod, Kay and online ones like Blue Nile. Nothing really caught my eye. 2 weeks before our trip to Playa Del Carmen, I had decided that I wouldn't be able to find the right ring, so the planned proposal wasn't going to happen. Then I came across Gage Diamond and visited their website. I was kind of skeptical about doing all this online, but per the other reviews I gave it a shot. The actual designing and customization of the ring was very very simple and easy. I picked out the setting, picked out the diamonds and placed my order. the very next day, I received a call from Fan, one of the directors and she informed me that unfortunately the diamond that I had ordered was sold, but there was a similar diamond of even better quality and much bigger that they had that was better, free upgrade. No arguing there from me. She gave me the timeline of when the ring would be ready. It was going to arrive after our trip, so I asked if there was any way possible to do a rush on the order, explaining what I wanted to do on our trip. Fan called me the next day and said that yes, she spoke with their jeweler and they would be able to expedite it and that they would have to overnight it to me so I would be able to get it on time. The diamond upgrade was free, the rush order was free, the only extra was the overnight delivery fee, which was understandable. I even accidentally added two overnight shipment charges and they refunded me one right away. During the whole process between Fan and Chasity, they kept me informed of the progress and when it was going to be shipped. The ring arrived on time, it was beautiful and I was able to propose on our trip. It made for the perfect setting, candlelit beachside proposal, and she said yes. Awful experience at Gage Diamonds. We came in to find wedding bands that would go together with my existing engagement ring, that we got on Place Vendôme in Paris (where the most reputable jewelers of Paris are located). It was my dream engagement ring and my fiancé went out of his way to have it shipped to Chicago. Well, when I showed it to the jeweler, she started by "Oh interesting. Emerald. I would never get emerald for an engagement ring, it's too fragile. I guess you can never wear it outside, only in your apartment." First of all, that isn't true, and it was quite rude to say about an existing ring that I was proudly showing her. She never even said it's pretty or anything. Then, she asks me to take it off so she can see it more closely. She notices that there is a small engraving on the outside of the ring. She grins and says "oh wow I guess they must have different standards than we do to put it there. We would never do this." Um, okay, we only got this beautiful ring at one of the best jewelers in Paris. Then, I ask where their diamonds are from. She tells me they are all ethical, all are from Belgium exclusively. I am Belgian, from Brussels. None of the diamonds in Belgium are FROM Belgium, they are mostly from Africa. They just buy them from Belgium (Antwerp). I bet they don't even know where they are from originally. It was just a terrible experience with a terrible, rude jeweler. I am on the west coast and I purchased the absolutely perfect engagement ring for my wife, and she literally could not have wanted anything else more. It could not have been more perfect in any and every way. Well about two weeks before our wedding we needed help with her ring, and Gage Diamonds was more than willing, and did everything possible to assist us in getting us the help and getting our ring back to us with plenty of time to spare for our wedding. Now the catch here is I was outside of my warranty period. They had 100% right to say no, and tell me they couldn't help because I am outside of my warranty, but they did not do that. The Gia certificate listed as a square cut too. I brought this to attention of sale associate who said it was a mistake. Dustin could sense that I was hesitant to give up my existing ring, and offered to clean and polish the ring and replace the diamond with a cubic zirconia, so I could have both. What a great idea! Gage Diamonds has hands down the best customer service. I went to Jared, Kay, Zales, Sharif and Shane Co. They all offered inferior rings and diamonds for outrageous prices. The customer service at these places were also sub-par. I used the 50/50 pay service, it was quick and easy. I was amazed at the 0% interest and also that they offered certified GIA diamonds and designer engagement rings. Most places that help you finance will sell you a $500 ring for $2000 but not Gage Diamonds. Chasity helped me throughout the purchasing process. I ordered the wrong size ring but it was no problem to get it adjusted. FedEx took a few days to ship it out but Chasity called FedEx herself to make sure that they shipped it. Ok, I asked help in selecting a wedding band that would go with my previous purchase with Gage of the engagement ring. They not only matched it, but sent it quickly, along with a polishing cloth, a really nice box, and even a bow and ribbon. It was packed well, and had zero damage to the box inside, which was important for presentation. When I bought the engagement ring, I had looked all over town here, and did my research. I was a little scared buying something that I couldn't feel, touch, see, hold, etc. prior to buying. They assured me, which was also a little scary, because people lie all the time to get a sale. On both purchases, it was better than promised. If only ALL my business dealings were this way. Honest, up front, fair pricing, and follow up after the sale. This IS the way business should be done, always. Bravo, Gage!!!! Keep it up, and you'll NEVER have a shortage of quality clientele. If I had one complaint, it would be that they aren't closer, or even in the same state. However, that even turned out to work in my favor, as there was no sales tax!!!
