My step brother told me he only casually knows the owner, Jim Manwarren, but hasn't heard any negative about his reputation as a used car dealer. So, I figured if I have to buy a car from a used car dealer at least I know a lot of the same people as Jim Manwarren and maybe I will actually get a fair deal! I bought a Chevy Trailblazer from the owner Jim Manwarren in November, 2018. He told me it was a "good runner" and "AS FAR AS HE KNEW was in great shape !" Jim told me he had just had THE WHEEL BEARINGS (plural!) replaced on the front end by an area mechanic that I have also done business with for years. LITERALLY 10 minutes after I bought the car and drove it off the lot the CHECK ENGINE SOON light came on. Then I took it to Belle Tire for a front end alignment and they told me THE FRONT END BALL JOINTS WERE ALL BAD AND THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE! Belle Tire quoted me $800 - $1000 to fix the car!!! I went to a different mechanic, who I trust, and he told me basically the same thing, although quoted me a slightly lower price and said the driver side wheel bearing was completely shot and the passenger side could wait to be replaced a little while. This mechanic is also the same person who WORKED ON THE CAR I BOUGHT FROM JIM MANWARREN AT M-51 AUTO SALES ! This mechanic put new tie-rods on my car at the request of Jim at M-51 AUTO SALES prior to Jim putting the car for sale out on his sales lot. Jim also had the mechanic repair THE WHEEL BEARINGS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ONLY of the vehicle! NOBODY FIXES JUST ONE SIDE OF THE CARS' WHEEL BEARINGS! It's like putting new brake pads on, when you do one side you automatically do both! If on side is worn, so is the other. SAME FOR WHEEL BEARINGS! I called Jim 4 times and told him what was going on with the car he had just sold me. He basically blew smoke up my a$$ and I finally came right out and told him that I believe he knew about the expensive repairs the car needed and he hid this information from me just to make a sale. I asked him to help me cover the cost of the repairs just to make the car driveable. Jim Manwarren said he would call the mechanic who looked at the car and Jim promised to get back to me, that was 7 days ago and Jim has not gotten back to me. I guess I just got TOOK! I STRONGLY BELIEVE, IN MY OPINION, THAT JIM at M-51 AUTO SALES KNEW the ball joints were shot and would have to be replaced at additional cost (eating into his profit margin) so he told the mechanic NOT TO REPAIR THE WHEEL BEARING ON THE DRIVER SIDE! I have no proof of this, but when my/and Jims' mechanic looked at the car 3 days after I bought it from M-51 AUTO SALES he remembered working on it and within 30 seconds told me it needs new ball joints on both sides and wheel bearings on the drivers side. I needed a vehicle for work and I trusted Jim at M-51 AUTO SALES, and now it's going to cost me close to $1000 just to make it SAFE TO DRIVE! And this is for the repairs that I know it needs as of now! NEVER AGAIN!!!

My next visit was for service on a loose sway bar/ noise when cornering. The service manager informs me that the warranty claim was denied for the amount of $800. I started asking question about the amount he was now trying to charge me and what exactly was getting replaced. He backpedaled and lowered the amount for what turned out to be replacing the $100 end links. No wonder the warranty claim was denied. The following visit/ last visit. I bring the car in for check engine light. The car needed a drivers side oil control valve. The service manager tells me the warranty claim was denied for $1200 repair. He then informs me the dealership ended business with this warranty company and that they are now not covering claims as a result. He says I should cancel my warranty with them and try to get a refund. For good reason I look into the repair to get my car back on the road and can't understand how a $300 part direct from Subaru that has 4 bolts fastened onto the bottom of the car will cost $1200. I take the car home and purchased the part from Subaru and spent 20 minutes fixing issue completely. They sold me on a warranty and then abused the warranty company by over estimating repair costs which in turn left me with denied claims. I got 0 value out of the $3500 warranty they sold me on and I have now spent several months trying to get an unknown amount back as a refund. Finally just over a month ago I finally found out what that amount will be a measly $1,700 in which I'm still waiting for. If I had read a review like this to go off of I would have never stepped a foot in their door. Take it as you will... my take is they have zero integrity

After 2 months I gave them an out and i said should i take it to the dealer...............QAS no we got it. after 3 months no worky so i had it towed to the dealer and it was fixed in 2 days. QAS still charged me $700+ and actually erased one of the computers programing yet still only cost $400 at the dealer to fix the whole deal. I will always choose an independent shop on older cars as the dealers are not my cup of tea, but I also expect them to know when they are just wasting time and money and that's exactly what QAS did. to be good you have to know when you are out of your ability and they were way out of their ability on this one.

The price for the car was fair, but the car needed some new tires and a few other minor things that would not have affected the price on most cars that much. However, this is a Maserati. Parts and service on these cars are not cheap. Chris was very attentive when addressing my concerns with the car. Unfortunately, the sales manager and I didn't see eye to eye. I felt the minor flaws diminished the value of the car further than he did. Me and my wife went home that night thinking we were just too far apart to make a deal. Then that same night I received a call from Nik. Nik asked if he took care of the issues I had with the car if I would be interested and taking another look. I told him I would. In just two days I got a call from Chris letting me know that the car was back. We went to look it over and not only did Nik take care of my issues he then asked if he could take another look at my trade himself. After looking it over he came back and offered me more than we originally agreed to. What a class act! So, while at first my trip to the dealership wasn't as I had hoped, I am glad to have been able to meet Nik and see firsthand just how dedicated he is to his customers and his team.
