I've been trying to find a way to explain just how fantastic my experience with GadgetFix was, without it sounding completely fabricated. I took my phone in on Thursday to get the screen repaired and met with Edwin to explain what happened. He was able to order the part and fix the screen quickly, but there was still a hardware issue after completing the repair. Edwin provided me with a temporary phone while he kept it overnight to continue to work on it. After being unable to fix the component, they offered me a brand new phone as a replacement. He said he completely guarantees his work and since he wasn't able to completely repair the device, he went out of his way to fix the situation. As trivial as it sounds to have a broken phone, it always is way more stressful than you'd think. Having somebody who understands and empathizes with that idea is incredible. As long as I'm in Santa Barbara, I will never go anywhere else for electronics repair, and I will tell everyone I know to do the exact same thing. read more

Who has two thumbs, a fixed laptop and a big smile? THIS GIRL! So before starting my last two years of college, I decided to buy a MacBook Pro. I have become so attached to it that the day I attempted to turn it on and heard, "beep, beep, beep" with the sleep mode light flashing as it beeped, I was upset. Not only are most my college papers etc in there, but I would no longer watch Netflix . I called GadgetFix and explained what was happening and they had me bring it in for a FREE diagnosis (something not offered by other businesses I called). Heck yeah! I hung up the phone and drove on over! Edwin and Dan took a look at my computer and had it fixed in no time . From researching online I thought for sure I was about to drop a ton of money (my broke college student self didn't have) on a new ram but it resulted to not be that. This place was great! nice, clean presentation - I hate walking into gadget repair shops and seeing electronic guts all over the place, even if they're organized it's still unappealing to look at. this is a small store front with a simple entry. the business is co-owned by an android expert and an apple expert, so you get acute expertise without turning to brand-based "experts" only following scripted troubleshooting (not that it won't work, but sometimes the creative guys give you more comprehensive service, think out of the box when necessary, and seem really eager to help/are not afraid to research and learn new things!) I had purchased a refurbished iPhone 8 to replace an older phone that had fallen apart, and found that the rear camera didn't work. I had the option to return it, but the seller said they would reimburse the cost of having it repaired locally. I spoke to Edwin at Gadget Fix several times, and he patiently explained my options. Although he had initially quoted a higher price to repair the camera on the newer phone, he dropped his price to meet competitors' pricing and the reimbursement maximum. Another issue was that my older phone wasn't entirely backed up. Edwin had initially quoted $30 to transfer data from my old phone; however, after repairing the camera, he transferred the data at no charge. He spent a lot of time helping me to resolve these issues, and was patient, polite, honest, straightforward, and so helpful. Highly recommend! read more

Another excellent experience at Gadgetfix. This is my third. My (worthless) Samsung Galaxy S8 had stopped charging properly so I brought it in. Edwin said it could be the battery so he ordered one which arrived the next day but when he fit it, it still would not charge correctly. He said this was probably a bigger problem with the motherboard so I decided to dump the phone in the garbage where it belongs. In the meantime, he let me bring in my laptop to download my pictures and files etc from it and then only charged me for a little of his time. Didn't charge me for the battery. This guy is always really fair and honest, which is a lot more than can be said about some other tech repair shops in this town, in my experience. Highly recommended. I don't know why everyone in town doesn't know about these guys! My iPad charger broke off in the port and Apple's quote was almost $300 or buy a new iPad. Really? Apple used to be great with customer service, but they've gone big money like the rest of the big boxes. So I googled Apple repair, and MacSuperstore on Gutierrez came up. I went there and they said they couldn't fix it but sent me to GadgetFix. Great guys there too. At GadgetFix, they were the GREATEST, KINDEST and politest group of men I have met in a long time. Great business! Very helpful and honest. I smashed my phone; the screen was shattered and the housing was very bent. I initially went to the Apple store on State St. but they told me that the phone could not be fixed and quoted me ~$280 for a new phone (an iPhone 5s). I decided to get a second opinion and GadgetFix did not disappoint. They were able to unbend the housing and replace the screen for a fraction of the price quoted by Apple. Repair took about 20 min and the phone works as good as new. Will definitely return if I need anything else repaired! read more

Chill ass guys working here. Broke the LCD screen on my phone, brought it in, was given the quote and told it'd be ready in a few days as soon as the part came in. They even let me borrow a phone in the meantime. Phone was ready quickly just as promised, ended up paying a couple bucks less than the originally quoted price, and they accommodated my paranoia about leaving any of my data on the borrowed phone. I took my iPhone 5c because it completely died on me. The battery had just ran out of juice, but luckily I was able to find these guys online and they fixed it that same Friday afternoon I went in. The guys are extremely friendly, the best customer service in town. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for fast and professional work. These guys did a great job on helping me fix my broken iPhone they were fast and very professional, they also have a nice couch in the waiting area and had a pretty funny movie playing on the nice big TV (wish I knew the name of it) but none the less that made my visit feel a lot better gave me a few good laughs before I knew it they where all done fixing my iPhone and I was on my way thanks again for the great work and I will definitely be sending more people that way!! read more

Verizon said it would cost $200 or more to fix the screen, etc.. of my son's iPhone. I wished we knew about GadgetFix before we went to Verizon and purchased a new iPhone for $500. GadgetFix was able to bend the phone's frame fairly straight, and then replaced the screen...all for under $90. And the phone works! Amazing!! Excellent workmanship, quick service, and reasonable!! OK, so I screwed up and broke my iPhone screen trying to change out the battery. And now I'm totally hosed because I'm practically dependent on the damn thing. The local mac repair guy had a cold so they referred me here. The friendly staff diagnosed the problem for free and replaced the screen in half an hour for a measly $99 bucks. Thus saving me the hassle of paying up to 5 times that much for another iPhone and reloading all my backed up data to it. read more

The other week I dropped my iPhone 6+ while bowling and was devastated. After calling a lot of shops, this place had the best price to fix it. I dropped off my phone and it was fixed within a hour. Since the service was so quick, I decided to bring my iPad in to replace the cracked glass and they did it in 2 hours. I'll be heading here whenever I break my phone again. The screen on my iPhone 6 plus broke the day after I bought it. Since I rely on it for both work and personal, I needed it fixed quickly. I had just received my new phone from insurance and the next day I dropped it on my garage floor and it completely shattered the screen! I googled places to fix it in SB. Fantastic service!! I went to GadgetFix to have an old iPhone 4s' jammed unlock button fixed and they had it ready to go within 30-minutes for an extremely reasonable price. My Samsung Galaxy S4 screen was cracked very badly. Calling around I found this place to have the best price by far. The part was in the next day and I was notified.
