Wow cant believe there is no review yet for this place. This taco shop is next to the Diary Queen. We were heading to Taco Bell but saw a long line in the drive thru for Gabriela's, so decided to try it out. It happened to be TACO TUESDAY. We got carne asada tacos, which were the street tacos. It was exploding with meat! The tortilla were thin and fresh. We also got ELOTE!!! It was surprising good!! Anytime we drive through this area, we will definitely stop here! A must stop in Camp Verde! After a long day of hiking and driving, Gabriela's was conveniently located to my hotel. Susan/Susanna (I'm sorry, I can't remember!) took my order and made some awesome recommendations! She saved me from my choice of going with their hottest salsa and included some other more mild options. All 3 were amazing but that hot is HOT! She was incredibly friendly and welcoming and really made me feel comfortable. The food was AMAZING and hit the spot. I got steak nachos which came as a massive portion with plenty of toppings and a generous serving of steak. I also got a shredded beef burrito that reheated perfectly in my hotel microwave as breakfast before hitting the road again. This may look like a small dive in the wall right off of I-15 but it is well worth the stop if you are on the way to Sedona from Phoenix. The food is excellent and very fairly priced. Best Mexican food ever! I love all the tacos and the Joshua burrito is to die for. It is carne asada with chille releno I live close by and she is a godsend. Friends have come to visit and say the Joshua is the best burrito they ever had. Service and ambiance are fine as long as you don't mind things wrapped in paper or on a paper plate. Excellent food and service! I had chicken tacos and the elote (street corn) and they were so yummy! The dinner also came with chips and 3 different salsas which were really good too. I have to be honest....we have not lived in Camp Verde for very long (about 3 years), and we have struggled to find many options for good food. Of course there are places around that have decent food, but it has been very up and down in quality. We tried Gabriela's out pretty early on and ended up fairly disappointed:/. The food just didn't match the quality of the word-of-mouth. But I won't hang out in the past for too long and I am always willing to give a place a second chance. Once I finally did, I have been kicking myself over not eating here more often. We have gotten breakfast burritos a couple of times and I am amazed. The ingredients are fresh and delicious, the tortilla is hot and homemade, the toppings are all fresh etc... I can't believe I have missed out for so long with this place. The prices are reasonable and pretty in line with most other restaurants and the staff has been extremely friendly and helpful. I will be back very often! read more

Honestly if there were negative stars those would be the ones I would rate! They don't even deserve a star! I am not the person who writes reviews just because... either it has to be amazing or really bad! (And this is the bad case one) we wouldn't not be back even if I was paid to go. There is nothing that I hate more than rude people! The restaurant cashier and "server" were very rude and literally asked us if we needed boxes when we were still eating! And literally asked us to box up our food because they were closed! It was 7:05 and they closed at 7pm and they didn't even wait for us to finish... we were literally finishing out meals but felt very uncomfortable with those girls being so rude about it! The restaurant was closed we get it for serving or ordering more food, but did they really had to kick us out because it was 7pm? I work in the restaurant industry as well, and I understand that once it's time to close you want everyone to go fast so you can get out of there... but we never... ever ask anyone to leave because we are closed.... We wait until they are ready to go without making people feel uncomfortable! I would not recommend this place honestly! the food wasn't good! It was decent... if you are really hungry you can definitely eat it. But as in knowing what real mexican quality food is... this would not be your place!! Oh one more thing... they have expensive 3 dollar water bottle... we asked for water and a drink and it was a 3 dollar charge for a 25cents small bottle. read more

I rarely eat out, but when I do I want to be blown away. Well today my socks got knocked off with the Ranchero burrito! Every flavor in that burrito titillated every single taste bud! I chose the shredded beef and added avocado. Choosing the burrito was especially challenging on taco Tuesday as I was truly desiring to try the shrimp or fish tacos. But I was so happy with my choice! All of their salsas were scrumptious as well. Living with a chef, I've become quite spoiled and don't find most restaurants worth the experience, but Gabriela made this place an absolute gem with her plates of perfection! She was a delight at the register with her warm smile. We will definitely make it a point to drive through Camp Verde again on our way back to Phoenix. read more

Fabulous find in Camp Verde! We needed a snack after hiking in Sedona, so we decided to order one breakfast burrito. The server asked if we would like it cut into two portions which was very thoughtful + she wrapped the portions separately. The burrito was delicious with eggs, potatoes, cheese, and black beans stuffed into a beautifully toasted fresh tortilla. We loved the spicy red salsa. My grandma would say that this salsa would "put hair on your chest!!!" This place combines fresh, authentic food with amazing customer service. On our way back from cutting our Christmas tree we needed to fill our bellies. This little hole in the wall next to Dairy Queen caught our attention. We are pretty skeptical of new places, especially considering there was only one review (a good review at least), but we gave it a shot and I was thoroughly impressed. My husband rated this four stars only because the table could have been wiped clean better. He said his food was five stars. It's a little order at the counter place that shares a building with DQ. The service was friendly and very fast, and the food came out hot, which seems to happen less and less often. Husband had the ground beef and potato burrito - he said it's the best burrito he's had since Nashville. Oddly, we found an incredible burrito place there. I had the California burrito and a taco. The taco, for me, was better than the burrito, but not because there was anything wrong with the burrito. Kids had chicken rolled tacos. There was no brewed tea, a negative for me, but the soda fountain was just right. Every time I go up to Sedona I stop at Gabriela's and this is the first time I've been back since they changed locations and it's still amazing! And now they have a drive through which is awesome! I order the potato tacos without cheese to make it vegan and they always fill these tacos to the brim! They have so many vegetarian options too. My boyfriend usually gets the ground beef hard tacos, but anything we've ever had from there has been amazing! I live in rimrock and come to Gabriela's all the time and it is the best Mexican food in the verde valley by far!!!The beef tacos are so so yummy burritos with the white sauce uggghhh!!!
