I came to Gabe's wanting to see what their inventory of children's clothing was like. The store can feel a bit overwhelming, much like another store that shares similar colors in its name and is also a single syllable first name... perhaps even more overwhelming due to the stores large size. I found the children's clothing to be a bit disorganized in terms of finding various clothing sizes. Also, some of the name brands for children's clothing were lacking in certain areas. Overall it's a decent store with plenty of inventory in its other sections but I would not go out of my way to come here. read more

I live in MD and me and my bestie travel to PA to shop every few months. This is my favorite Gabes. I love that it is huge, spacious and well stocked. The only downfall is they don't clean the entrance area very well as you can see by the pics and the ladies restroom stinks as in an old dirty generic smell. read more

This store has unorganized inventory and dirty all over. The most frustrating part is the 30+ mins checkout wait no matter the day/time , it's a poor reflection of how bad it's managed and how short staffed and poorly trained the workers are. Terrible customer service when trying to figure out a return. Website says after 30 days with receipt store credit The clerk was argumentative and then called a manager after telling us we didn't see that on there. The manager arrives to speak to the sales associate in Spanish. Highly unprofessional and rude but guess that's what you get in that area. Store is run terribly and is filthy with stuff just thrown all over the floor. Won't ever go back and spend my money there. Tj maxx much nicer. read more

Gabe's is a great option for low cost items. I have gotten clothes, pantry and toiletry items here. The store is very overwhelming as there are tons of things and the racks are jam packed with items but as I said, very good for budget shopping. read more

The service was HORRIBLE!! Only 1 or 2 Registers open and a HUGE line to checkout! Some employees were standing around doing nothing! Some were doing their jobs but most I saw were laughing and joking around in the back of the store and they certainly could've used "their" help up front! MESSY and UNORGANIZED!! Basically Gabriel Brothers (Gabe's) is a clothing store, I went looking for shoes the other day for work, no luck, they had an impressive selection, but it wasnt really competitively priced, and not as many to choose from as wal-mart or k-mart. Huge selection of clothes, coats and accessories. They basically have name brands that have been damaged or have slight, nearly unnoticeable mistakes and so forth. read more

It is what it is, y'all! If you want (mostly) brand name labels at super discounts and are willing to hunt through racks and shelves, you come to GB. You make sure to check for tape on the clothing to see if there are snags, stains or holes that you can't fix or deal with. You don't expect Nordstrom Rack. You expect a step below TJMaxx, Marshall's and Ross - right down to the tend-not-to-care minimum-waged employees - but a step above most Goodwill's. That's exactly what you get. We are here on a weekend trip w/ family and our hotel just happen to be next door to Gabes! I walked into this department store and instantly fell in love! This is a discount store and contrary to what other reviewers said, I found this store to be clean and very organized. I left the store paying $72 for several items I purchased! It's my first time at Gabes and definitely won't be the last esp when I just looked it up here on Yelp and found out that there is one store not too far away from where I live! So glad I discovered this store, you can't beat how cheap the prices are!! read more

We were in Gabe's (today) late Saturday afternoon. We found shoes for my kid but the line was so long, I mean way past where the queue starts, we hid the shoes in a rack and we decided to come back about an hour and a 1/2 later after we went to the trampoline park in the same plaza. Well we went back in and needless to say the shoes are still hidden in the rack because the line still just as long and I was not standing there a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes did to buy a pair of damn shoes. Ridiculous. I have several pairs of Converse and I did find a pair of Converse there but I swear to God they were knock offs. read more

I was in line waiting to check out along with 8 other customers and at the one register a cashier was abrupt with a customer looking to make a return. The customer asked not to be yelled at but he the cashier continue to get an attitude with him and then walked away shaking his head. A lady came in to finish the transaction there was no apology or anything to the older gentlemen. Even though this situation did not happen to me I am highly dis-satisfied with the customer service. read more

Ok so this is a hard one. Do I give it low stars because of it' location, lack of cleanliness, the clothes that are often damaged or stained, or the odd characters you will find there. Or do I give higher stars for the fact that some of the best finds and must unbelievable bargains I have ever had in my life have come from this store. I went with the latter. To me, there is nothing more thrilling then stepping into this store and leaving 30 mins later with $50 pair or shoes for $20. Or a designer shirt for $2. Sometimes you come and find nothing but you keep coming back because you know you are going to find that awesome deal sooner or later. read more

I love going to Gabe's and make it a trip every time we are in PA. I sure wish we had one here in Florida. It is a great place to get designer things at real discount prices. You have to understand that many of the things are last year style, but, if you are like me and don't need the trendiest items, you can't beat the pricing. They also have some things that you think you are at Goodwill, but, you need to pick and choose. Holiday shopping here is great with many "ugly" sweater items. read more

There are no Gabriel Brothers' by me so I was curious when this came up while searching for Marshall's. This is a huge discount department store, like a hybrid of Ross + Marshall's/TJ Maxx + Burlington Coat Factory. The quality of the items are all over the place. Some clothing that looked like it would all apart after the first wash. There were also really great brands like Ralph Lauren, Kensie and Sanctuary for unbelievable discounts - I picked up a pair of pants from Sanctuary for $12.99 (I saw them at TJ Maxx $29.99, and the retail was $129). They seem to sell defectives and returns from higher end department stores and mall brands so Natalie B's advice to inspect garments is recommended! I almost picked up a white top from Denim & Supply that was marked down 80% from the original tag, but ultimately passed since there stains that I wasn't sure would come out easily. Bargain hunters who don't mind spending time to score a deal would love this store! read more

I love Gabe's. I have been to every Gabe's store in PA, except for the one iin Erie, and when I asked if we could stop there, the answer was "no", because we had to get a plane back to Harrisburg. My home and wardrobe are a testament to the wonders I've found at Gabe's. read more

This place is awesome if you are looking to save money. They are 2nd's or maybe damaged. The price's are cheap and they carry name brand items. You need to purchase anything you like then as it is what comes in a shipment and what they may only receive. You do need to watch for rips/tears or broken zippers in stuff and they DO return items with the tags attached. Love this place! read more
