My optometrist had referred me to this office, saying if anybody could accomplish what I needed, this would be the place! Ana was very straightforward and knowledgeable about the possible negative issues with the adjustment I wanted, and said she would be happy to try anyway if I agreed. I did, and, lo and behold, she was able to alter the side piece to accommodate a particularly sensitive portion where the earpiece rested behind my ear. I had new lenses put in my current Lool frames via Miramar Eye Specialists recently. When I picked them up the lenses were great, but the right side "temple" part was broken over my right ear - not like it was when I sent them in. Since Miramar made me sign a form that acknowledged they weren't responsible for any damage by their lab I was left without any remedy for this problem. I brought my broken glasses into Gabe's last week for a repairs, as I snapped my temple joint on the frame. I'm hell on glasses and seem to break them all the time at work. I wear three vision progressives with nice frames, so needless to say they are very expensive. I brought them in so they could have a look. Within 30 minutes they were repaired and I was back to being able to see, as my spare pair are only single vision. If you have an issue with your glasses that need repair, I highly recommend Gabe's. Over a month ago I bought some new Gucci sunglasses, and noticed the other day that one of the arms was on the verge of falling off. And it did just that soon after. Glasses weren't broken; the tiny screws/washers simply needed to be tightened. Which surprised me...I've owned many pairs of shades and always make sure to take care of them. These were the first I've ever had that fell apart on me in such a manner, let alone so soon. Of course, it was just past the 30 day window from the purchase date, so the place I bought them from more or less told me to kick rocks. Definitely frustrating, especially considering what I paid for them and that it's only been a month and some change. In lieu of sending them back to Gucci, I thought I'd try a local business first. Around lunch, I dropped them off. Came back a couple hours later, and they seem like new. Nice and tight, like they were never broken. Price was fair, and I'm crossing my fingers they stay this way. I had glasses made for my husband, who has dementia, a couple of years ago. The frame needed some adjustment. Anna was very accusatory about the nose pads being tampered with. I seriously didn't remember if I did something to them to keep one in place. She was more concerned about her "warranty" than helping me. I bought extremely expensive eye glass frames (Celine) a number of years ago from another merchant (not knowing about Gabe's yet) and I love them so much that every time my prescription changes, I have them put into the same frames. Well the part that goes over the ear (both sides now) have broken and there is ONLY one place that can fix them and that is GABE'S. The craftmanship is impeccable and very affordable, too. I recently googled sunglass rpair and Gabe's Fram Lab appeared. I saw some great reviews so I decided to go. I had a lens fall out of my Tom Ford and a screw missing as well. I decided to go, online indicated it was open, but when I got there it was not so I left. Anyhow I got a call and Anna and she apologized, she was running a bit late. When I returned to the shop, interesting location I'll add, she said it would be 30 minutes. So I went back to my office for a while and then returned to GFL. The reason I gave only a 4 is they do not take insurance and with my prescription it is a little pricey. For me it runs a little over $600 without insurance. I would have to submit to the insurance. I was charged twice for the same repair ! On a Friday my husband dropped my Chanel sunglasses off and paid up front $55 dollars to repair . I go the next week and not knowing he had already paid , I paid again ! I was charged $65 this time by a young woman . No one thought to put a note on the glasses saying the repair was paid in full ?? I call and was told the manager would look at paperwork and call back but no call . If I could give 10 stars, I would!! I have a flat Asian nose and was limited to wearing wire eyeglass frames with adjustable nose pieces. Otherwise, I'd have to buy the adhesive nose pads from Amazon to avoid the "granny" look, which was better, but not GOOD. I was told about Gabe's Frame Lab, and Ana was able to put on the adjustable nose pads (permanently) onto my plastic frames. As a matter of fact, she put on three sets for me today! It was money absolutely well spent! I feel like a whole new world of frame options have opened up to me! Ana was SUPER knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and sweet to work with. THANK YOU, ANA!
