I had eye surgery at Good Sam in San Jose yesterday. Days prior to surgery, I was told by my…read moresurgeon that I was going to be awake for it? (On my eyes?! Are you kidding me?! Eeek!) Dr. Park called me the night before to talk about my surgery and I expressed to him that I was a bit freaked out by the idea of being awake during the procedure. While in my bed waiting to go into the OR, Dr. Park swung by to connect with me. When I got to the OR, he asked me what sort of music I'd like to hear during my surgery. Of course, this was very sweet, but I'd hoped to be blissfully asleep most of the time, if not all. Let's just say that he listened to my concerns and I slept soundly through the entire procedure and woke up blissfully happy in the recovery room! No nausea or any other issues after the surgery. I still don't know what music they were playing in the OR, which proves how well he did his job. ;-) Great experience from beginning to end. Hopefully I'll get the same anesthesiologist for my next eye!

Each time, he has drawn a design on the mask used in the procedure as a souvenir for us to take home. I find him to be very caring, responsive, professional, and he has been phenomenal as a pediatric anesthesiologist. I hope to have him again if my kids require further surgeries. The kids handled the anesthesia very well and Dr. park worked on them back to back. There were minimal effects of the anesthesia and by 3pm, they were golden and back to their normal. The procedure for the first was done by 8:30am and the second was before 9am.

Called and informed them 20 min late. 2. Front desk at El Camino Health Pediatrician at 555 Knowles turned us away. Explained my daughter had cough and wanted to check for asthma symptoms. Front desk lacked empathy and turned us away. We were late due to traffic but wow no options given. 3. Took my daughter to Good Sam ER. Physician Dr. Dapar MD (5 Stars). Nurse Practitioner K. Greene PA (5 Stars). The X-Ray tech from Santa Cruz (5 Stars). All had conversations with my daughter because as she told me "it was a scary experience for her." They made her feel comfortable. The mobile X-ray was efficient, the radiologist's diagnosis was swift. My daughter was also born at this hospital. What an epic experience. Major kudos to the team at Good Sam. It must be fairly new and they are certainly maintaining it. Interestingly, they are still using lots of paper files versus going electronic. But all the nursing teams were kind and compassionate of my nervousness. My doctor came to visit with me and confirm all the information that had been confirmed many times before - super safe!! I recently had an ear surgery and as surgeries go, it went so much better than anticipated. Dr. Greg called me the night before to check in. He then came and SAT at my bedside. We actually had a chat. He told me my email, which he had memorized, let me know he would follow up the following day, and he asked if I go by "Michelle". I told him I was nervous and he told me the hardest part about today was the car ride over...well that was a piece of cake because my sister drove me. When he left, I felt I was in really good hands. As I went to sit on the table for surgery, he was talking to me, while injecting me with 2 viles into my tube. I played down, the nurse told me to smooch up and honest to goodness it was the last thing I remember. Dr. Greg did not give me a chance to let my anxiety set in. He was on what I needed. When I woke up, I am told, I was asking for a margarita and if I was still in Mexico (I had just returned from vacation)...When I saw my sister sitting next to me, I love her, but the "dream" was over - she wasn't in Mexico with me. Dr. Greg checked in on my during recovery...I don't remember much there, but he did follow up with me via email and I told him the same as above. For someone who has much anxiety going under, it has a darn good ending. Listening to your patient only matters if you follow up with what THEY need.
