After all of this she still said "yeah allergies are tough" in a condescending manner before leaving. Thankfully the doctor listened to me and gave me proper treatment, including antibiotics and a referral to an ENT. I don't understand why people like the nurse go into healthcare, they don't listen to their patients and think they know better meanwhile I had (and still have) chronic sinusitis so bad that I have now been through 4 rounds of antibiotics and might need surgery. I'm glad she's not a doctor because I would feel sorry for her patients. I would give the doctor 5 stars as he was knowledgeable and helped me on the path to recovery. Nurse has no business in healthcare and I hope this urgent care realizes that eventually.

Our pediatrician is with Stanford and I called the Stanford Advice Nurse over the phone - they suggested that we go to an urgent care where a provider can see her. They recommended a Sutter Health Pediatric Urgent Care. (I was confused as to why Stanford would suggest Sutter) We then visited for a 12:45 PM appointment today. MA took some vitals and we waited inside the room for about 30 minutes. When the Dr. came in, he didn't introduce himself. He didn't even use his stethoscope - he just said she looks fine. He showed her back and that there's no signs of asphyxiation. He did not give me any confidence of next steps and exam was over. Upon exit, I had to ask the front desk for an after visit summary. He went inside to talk to the Dr - and Dr came out confused as to why I'm asking for more details and that he already explained my daughter is fine. I was frustrated, I want paper trail, I want explanation of what transpired, I needed confidence that I can move on with next steps. Over the next few hours, my daughter who's less than 2 years old vomited at least 3 more times. We decided to go Stanford ER - something I should have started with instead of wasting my time with Sutter Health. Stanford vs Sutter Health is a night and day difference in service - choose wisely. The Stanford ER is taking the correct medical precautions and we are investigating further. If this turns out to be something serious - trust me Sutter Health, I will take legal action. I walked into Palo Alto Medical Foundation on Los Gatos Blvd and was greeted immediately. I filled out some basic paperwork and was told I would be called soon. 2-3 minutes later I was called to the back so they could take a look at me. The nurse Tracy was very friendly and cleaned up my cut. She worked quickly and efficiently, but made me feel very comfortable. Soon after the Dr. Spoelhof came to examine me and gave me a brief description on my injury and what she needed to do. Again, I felt very comfortable in her care and she stitched me up with very little if any pain. I was out the door in less than an hour. I couldn't have asked for better, friendly and fast service! They took my insurance with zero cost to me. I could not be happier with their service and expertise. If you live in the Los Gatos area and are looking for an alternative to going to the emergency room for a non emergency procedure, I would highly recommend checking out Palo Alto Medical Foundation on Los Gatos Blvd.

The young lady that checked me in also helped me update some information in the system, which was helpful. The staff were very kind and helpful and I was out of there in a few minutes. An excellent experience all around. It does get busy here, during the week, and parking can be a problem when that happens. If you come on the weekend, you shouldn't experience any of that. The neurology referral teams have zero communication with one another. I received no email or comms from my doctor, the management team nor was I given any guidance on next steps in switching doctors. This is unacceptable. I should have been proactively notified and should have been made aware of my options ASAP. I called and texted the office several times to speak to Dr. Gorman about my experience but did not receive a call back. Instead, I received an impersonal, cold and sterile letter a few days later notifying me that I needed to find another doctor. I would not recommend this practice to anyone given the sloppy nature of my situation was managed- it's completely unacceptable.

So far, every Stanford doc I've seen have been top notch. So this was my first time here and I had a great experience. They gave me plenty of instructions before, so I was totally prepared and I had all my instructions and results when I left. I had a call from both my Doc and my anesthesiologist the night before to see If I had any questions. Now my work does 30-35 surgery's a day, these guys can do up to 70 on a busy day, but talk about a well greased machine. I feel for the staff, I know what a busy OR is like, but man they were all super courteous, professional and focused on the patient. From my 15 min wait in the admitting (fast) to my 30 min stay in pre-op (fast) I was prepped, had my IV and was totally relaxed for when my doc stopped by to say hi, then the anesthesiologist and my nurse. I was in and out and next thing you know I was in the recovery. They made sure I was doing good, my nurse was attentive and very polite (Jose? I think, I'm still a bit out from anesthesia but doing great.) I was dressed and they had a special parking garage for my ride to pick me up. The medical staff provided very good care, and the facility appeared clean, professional, and well maintained. My concern is limited to the billing and post-procedure communication process. After the procedure, I reviewed the Explanation of Benefits from my health insurer, and the amount billed to me appeared to be significantly higher than what I understood to be the insurer's indicated patient responsibility. Because billing matters can be complicated, I tried to contact the hospital to ask for clarification and to request a written review of the account. In my experience, however, the process was very difficult to navigate. The available communication appeared to rely mainly on phone calls during business hours, which was challenging for me because of my schedule. I left voicemail messages explaining the issue, and I also sent fax communications asking the hospital to review the account and respond. As of this review, I have not received a clear written response resolving the discrepancy. I later contacted my insurer to seek clarification as well. From my understanding, the balance may still be treated as unpaid or not fully resolved, although the matter remains under review. I am continuing to work with both the insurer and the hospital to understand the final amount, if any, that I actually owe. What has been frustrating is not the medical care, but the lack of a clear and accessible written communication process for a billing issue involving an insurance EOB. If the hospital disagrees with the insurer's EOB or believes additional patient responsibility applies, I would expect a clear written explanation so the patient can understand the basis for the charge and address it appropriately. Again, I appreciated the clinical care I received. However, the billing follow-up experience was stressful, time-consuming, and difficult to resolve. Prospective patients may want to confirm in advance how this hospital handles insurance billing, EOB discrepancies, written billing disputes, and communication options other than phone calls. I would also encourage prospective patients to read a range of reviews, including lower-rated reviews, before deciding where to receive care.

I didn't make a big deal about it because they put their face masks on at the facility doors, but it did surprise me that they weren't wearing any type of face covering prior to arriving to a facility where they would be providing care and treatment to patients. I'd absolutely plan to come back here next time I'm sick and in need of treatment.
