They called ahead to ask if they could reserve a tee time, and the employee told them they could just come in and they would find an opening. To avoid the risk of showing up and not being able to play, my son went ahead and booked a tee time. When they arrived, they checked in at the front desk, where a young employee told them that next time they could just come in. Then an older employee, who I assume was the manager, came over and accused them of trying to cheat the system. They weren't trying to cheat anything--they literally did exactly what they were told to do. They were ultimately charged the normal rate , but apparently that wasn't enough. While they were teeing off, the same older employee drove up in his golf cart and started calling them "bitches" and "punks" and accusing them of trying to pull a fast one. Completely unacceptable behavior from someone representing a golf course. If this is how you treat young golfers who are simply trying to use a legitimate youth program, maybe the problem isn't the kids. Maybe it's the staff. They were also told not to come back. After being treated like that, I don't think they'll have any trouble following that instruction. Extremely unprofessional and embarrassing customer service. If the course doesn't want to participate in Youth on Course, perhaps they should reconsider the program--or reconsider who they have dealing with customers.

The course is in pretty good shape, the greens roll true, and you're out in a peaceful setting. Lots of trees here--be prepared to have to punch out of trouble; you might even find yourself needing to hit a punch shot after finding the fairway, as some holes have trees growing over the edge of the fairway. Trees aside, there are a couple of water hazards and a fair amount of bunkers that can hurt your score if you aren't careful. Overall, I think this is a pretty solid course. What some of the other reviews have mentioned about the staff seem to be true. While the first employee I met, a college student at UO, was friendly, the person working the front desk seemed stand-off-ish and didn't seem thrilled that I was playing that day. I think the customer service could use some work.

Rates are reasonable. - Greens were in good shape and mostly have subtle contours. Number 17 is definitely not subtle though! - Fairways OK, a lot of rough patches but mostly you'll find a good lie if you hit the fairway. - Bunkers somewhat less than OK. They're not terrible but the sand is quite dirty and compacted. This is not a heavily bunkered course except for a few holes. - Water is not a huge hazard here. It's mostly out of play unless you hit a very errant shot. A couple of holes have a moderate carry over wasteland/reeds/whatever. - Front nine is easier than the back. So get your pars & birdies in early. - Pace of play for my round was OK once the marshall came out and broke up a sixsome in front of us and encouraged them to move along. - Small driving range that only accommodates maybe eight or ten players. Free range balls if you're playing a round. - Moderately sized practice green. It was fairly crowded when I played early on a summer Saturday. - No practice bunker. - Gas-powered, no frills golf carts. - Clubhouse is adequate. They could probably use larger restrooms. - Parking lot and clubhouse cart paths are a bit of a zoo. The parking area is small and there's no real place to park your cart if you want to use the driving range. I found carts (both claimed and ready for use) clustered in the handicap spots. - Nice cafe in the lower part of the clubhouse. All in all, a very enjoyable round of golf.

We are thinking about setting up a tournament and trying to play with a friend that has the same technology in California. This is different and unique compared to others I have seen. The owners are knowledgeable and friendly hosts. There was a great vibe when we were there. Guy next to us almost got a hole in one at Pebble Beach. So fun!

There was no mention of the moving wall or the fact that it was not fully enclosed in the brochure when I signed up. I spoke with the swim coordinator but she would not refund my money or switch me to a fully-enclosed pool as they felt that they did nothing wrong. I feel the facility was falsly advertised. Now I must dispute it with my credit card company in order to receive my money back. We were only able to swim once but paid $35. That's an expensive lesson for a 30 minute baby class.

It surprised me how hard it was to find an Easter egg hunt in the Eugene/ Springfield area. When I…read morewas a kid I feel like there were plenty of them because we always went on an Easter egg hunt, but now here for Easter with my baby, the only one that we could find (particularly the only one that had any activities for the under one set) was the MEGGA egg hunt--so off we went to Thurston. This was a really well organized Easter egg hunt. It didn't feel overly busy or crowded, which I appreciate. The parking lot did fill up by the time we got there because I am always JUST on time, but they had overflow parking at Thurston Middle School with a shuttle running between the two. We might actually have gotten the better parking deal because the shuttle took us right to the entrance of the hunt. There were different hunts for different age ranges, including the noncompetitive hunt for toddlers zero to one year old. They had some cardboard and inflatable figures where people could take pictures. There was a Dari Mart cow, a big squirrel, and of course an Easter bunny wandering around with which you could take pictures. There were various booths for activities, such as face painting (only for children three and up); a photo prop booth (not sure if there was a charge; if so it was the only thing that would require payment but there was no line so I'm not sure); various craft, sensory, or other activity tables for children, as well as an animal balloon artist. If I was in Eugene for Easter, I would absolutely return with my child to this Easter egg hunt. They did a great job, and I really appreciate the work they and their sponsors put into this event to make it a really special memory for my daughter's first Easter.
