Woman calls me wanting to confirm the extra $100 shipping charge. Her explanation is that the carrier has to use a SMALLER truck! I point out that this is breach of contract and could be "bait and switch." Her reply was that "well, we sent you an email," and that this "extra fee is clearly visible on their site." ( I looked at shipping and FAQs after this and could NOT find any mention of this added fee.) I did get angry and said "since you are holding me to ransom, go ahead and charge the extra fee, but do not expect great feedback." Within 20 minutes they cancelled my order. They did refund my money. It seems that many businesses are following the lead of airlines and hotels- where they advertise a low price; and then add previously hidden fees onto the bill It used to be called - "Bait and Switch." It is still an unethical business practice.
