My daughters did a…read morelot of theater and music in high school so tonight's performance was full of their high school alumni and was produce and directed by their former high school theater and music teachers... so exciting. This particular run of legally blonde was sold out practically every showing and they even had to add shows. Fabulous... a lot of talent came out of that high school. The theatre it self looks like it can accommodate just under 200 people. The parking is limited with threats that you will be towed if you park in the wrong areas in businesses next to the theatre. They did have light snacks for sale during intermission. The performance its self was close to broadway worthy with great performances by the leads and supporting cast. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and our daughter and I so enjoyed catching up with all of their former high school classmates and teachers. They wanted to get in the pit and play or get on stage again. Such a great evening. If you enjoy a good performance, and want to do something different support local theatre. The arts need support. It's the soul and culture of any community.

My wife and I love going to plays and were pleasantly surprised to find out that this place has been in our own backyard for all these years. We went to the opening night performance for Legally Blonde and we were blown away by the amazing performance. We didn't know what to expect going in with this being our first time at the theater. We kept our expectations low because we figured, oh well this is just a small county theater so let's not expect a broadway performance. The performance however was much better than we anticipated and it very well could have been a broadway play with how great the performers did. The show was put together so well and everything was done flawlessly. My wife and I left that performance thinking we can't wait to come back to see another show!

Some seats do have somewhat limited view of the stage, so it is one of the old style theaters. 2. Parking is a hassle. Best to just uber here. I personally had a dinner at the hotel next door and used their valet. 3. We each got a credit, which made it nearly free. On April 12, 2019, I went to Arena Stage for the 1st time, and the INWEGO era began. You'd pay $19 for 1 show a month, $39 for 3 shows, & $59 for 5 shows. This included plays, concerts, sporting event, comedy, & other various events. I visited National Theatre 4 times all on INWEGO: 1. Tuesday, December 10, 2019: Fiddler on the Roof 2. Thursday, December 19, 2019: Jersey Boys 3. Tuesday, February 11, 2020: King's Speech 4. Wednesday, March 4, 2020: Bandstand A lot of great shows. Some good vantage points from the level to upper level section seats that I got along with my girlfriend of that time. It was a cool, grand venue. Each time was its own unique experience. December 10, 2019: I'll be honest that I was upset with my girlfriend of that time on that day. I had gotten home from work to quickly eat & take Metro down. I had some couscous at home. She was making it, but she had doctored it with cannabis. She had feminine issues that day, but I was pissed she ruined our couscous that night. I barely could talk to her I was shaking with anger. Ultimately, we were committed to going, and I still wanted to see Fiddler on the Roof. It was a great show with a great first impression of National Theatre. December 19, 2019: My girlfriend & I didn't break up on or shortly after December 10th's couscous. We were pretty good for Jersey Boys. This time my friend who got me to join INWEGO was joining us for the play. I remember my g/f & I had some disagreement in the early part of the evening around dinner, but I don't remember what it was about, and it didn't spoil the night. Jersey Boys was my favorite of the 4 plays I think. February 11, 2020: King's Speech was a great play and a good night for us on the lower orchestra level. That was the only time of the 4 we were on the orchestra level. March 4, 2020: Bandstand was another funny story. We were in the upper balcony section once again. We met up with her friends another couple sitting next to them. At the time, we were taking this Covid thing with a grain of salt not realizing what we would be facing soon, saying time to social distance & fist bumping but not thinking much of it. After the show, I learned my friend who got me to join INWEGO was there too. We were texting about the Metro or something after the show, and I was like what a coincidence we are at the same Metro. He mentioned Bandstand. We realized we were in the same row. He was like 8 seats further down, but we didn't notice each other. My girlfriend & I thought it was interesting he didn't try to coordinate with me. Conclusions: National Theatre is a great venue with a lot of memories. Sadly, INWEGO went out of business in Sept. 2020 as they couldn't survive the still Covid environment at that time. Perhaps, I'll visit National Theatre again if it was ever convenient.

They have provided excellent services to the youth and adults. The instructors are very talented and provide classes such as Ballet and hip hop, private lessons :Voice, drums, clarinet, saxophone etc. The students are very well versed in a variety of areas. It is located on the first floor of the mall near zales it has brought a new environment and opportunity for those who love the arts a chance to rekindle their passion. They offer multiple events throughout the year even summer camp for the youth. They have provided opportunities for young adults to establish themselves by creating internships, job opportunities, and volunteer services for those in the community. The talent that comes to Metro Stage have Broadway in their resumes. The current performance of Black Pearl Sings set in the post depression 1930's, takes 2 women from different worlds and shows how they can bond through music. Their story stands on its own, and is not just a backdrop to launch into song. The show takes the viewer through a full range of emotions. The outcome is bittersweet. If you live in the DC. metro area, don't overlook what is in your own backyard. After all, it is a "Metro Stage."

Behind her, a projector played clips from Prince's past performances, which added a great visual vibe to the night. There was a small cash bar offering Prince-themed cocktails, plus beer and wine. The staff were fantastic and even popped in a few times to dance and celebrate with us. The venue itself was absolutely gorgeous--cool and comfortable despite all the dancing. I never imagined this would be such a great place to host or attend a party, but I'd definitely come to another event here.

I came to see Pippin at this theater and cannot begin to express how impressed I was with the…read moretalent here. From singing to costuming to choreography, each performer gave everything to the audience. Since this is a theater in the round in a very intimate setting, I had my concerns that I would be in a section in which the performers had their backs to me. Quickly I realized that the seasoned cast is skilled at playing to each side and the staging wouldn't inhibit anyone's view. I purchased tickets with a partial view ( Row 4), and felt that my view from there was better than many Broadway shows I've attended. I did not find them to inhibit the show in any way, and the leg room was spacious. I really enjoy watching the support cast (chorus) and in this show particularly their roles were important to every element and integrated into the foreground. This is something you often don't see in traditional shows where the leads are foreground and the chorus is just left to be background noise. Great job by all. The theater is located near some eateries and an ice cream shop, but take advantage of this before the show. I felt every single person headed right to the ice cream shop after the show, and some of the eateries closed just as we exited at 9:00pm on a Sunday.

I have already rated the theater facility/building as great so I won't go into much more detail about that. Although here goes - the building's entry is grand, the lobby is welcoming and exciting and the ushers/staff are friendly and first rate. The performance of Pippin that I saw was likewise first rate. Signature Theatre has taken a show I have seen multiple times in the past, and freshened it up. A lot! Presented in the round - which I normally do not like - it presents like live-action happening right in front of your eyes for the 1st time. And the theater is small enough that I felt immersed in the action! Indeed, several times, players would come right up into the seats and interact with me and other audience members. It really made the show seem like a story being presented for first time, spontaneously, right in front of me. And, the performances were so fresh, so intense that I felt that each and every emotion/action was directed only to me. Very nicely staged! The quality of talent in this show is also noticeable. Particular kudos to the man who portrayed Pippin. The ensemble too was Broadway caliber. The dancing in particular was exhilarating! I felt every kick and twist. Fosse lives in this production! This show is old, however, having been first conceived in the early 1970's. But there was very little that was tired or old or vintage. It was fresh and cutting edge. The Signature production was unlike any of the other presentations of Pippin I have seen. The actors' entrances came in from the audience entrances - all 4 corners of the theater - and it was enthralling. The close proximity made every actor seem like they were talking/singing just to me. It was the kind of show that you really need to see more than once because there is so much going on all at once. Bravo to the Signature Theatre once again!
