I was in by 8:10 am. He got my van diagnosed, parts delivered and I was back on the road after lunchtime. I am so grateful to him to help me get back on the road. I am a dog/house sitter and I was expected in Annapolis that night. The homeowner had already left the country for a trip. They coordinated the entire process with my insurance company and Enterprise Rental to make the repairs as smooth and easy as could be. The work took 7 days, just what I was told up front, and was very well done. Just one small glitch, hence the four, rather than five stars. They did a good job, except they forgot to re-install the windshield washer filler neck. Good thing I tried it out on the way home. The reservoir was empty. When I got home from the body shop I opened the hood to refill the reservoir, and the filler neck was laying flat on top of where it would go. The tank is between the inner & outer fenders. I was wondering on my way back if they'd need to remove the outer fender to put the filler neck in place. I called them, and Steve, the owner said bring it right back. They popped it right in, put a retaining clip on, refilled it, all while I sat in the truck. Five minutes, tops. I'm happy with their work.

There were serious miscommunications at every stage…read more I drove two hours from MA for a 2017 Outback 3.6R listed as having four new tires, new front brakes, and the 120k service just performed. When none of it appeared on the service records, I asked, and was told the work was done in-house. When I arrived to test drive and put a deposit down, they had double-booked us with another couple trying to buy the same car. During the test drive, the salesman admitted the tires hadn't actually been installed yet -- their policy is to put the bare minimum street-legal tire on the car, giving you about 25k miles, unless you pay extra for better ones. There was also considerable confusion about out-of-state registration. One person told me I could transfer my plates (which is correct, and my insurance agent confirmed it). Another told me I would "go to jail" if I got in an accident on the way home. I paid $199 for a pre-purchase inspection at Quality Subaru -- the shop that had serviced this car nine times since 2023. Their records showed none of the advertised work had been done. Their inspection found all four tires worn to 5/32 and scalping, both front axles needing replacement, oil leaking from the front engine cover and both valve covers, transmission fluid leaking from the oil pump cover, a cracked drive belt, and an alignment issue. When the report came back, rather than the person I was emailing with or the person that was there when I test drove it calling, a third employee called to refund my deposit and tell me they knew I'd want my money back and would sell the car for more. My deposit was refunded. But the work described in the listing had not been performed, and I only found out because I paid for an independent inspection. Get a PPI and ask for the service history by VIN.
