I recently found myself wanting to hang some art glass in my east facing office window. Purpose?…read moreTo capture the early morning sunbeams and transform my ordinary office into a colorful rainbow fest. I went on a quest for a couple of days, even hit up antique stores, only to discover that places that carry or make this kind of thing are quite difficult to find. In the vicinity of about 30 miles, there were only two that I could find. And Art of Stained Glass was the most convenient. We found this cluttered workshop in an industrial area, filled with finished and unfinished work. All the items carried were custom made. And the works were varied in style. I have to confess, most of them I found to be a little too tame for my taste; I was looking for something that had lots of beveling to act as prisms. The color element (like stained glass) was a possibility, if I could find the right one for my neutral interior. I could have done well with reds, golds, greens. Unfortunately, the ready made ones for the most part were not suitable because I also had bizarre size constraints. So I switched gears and looked for combinations of clear, etched, beveled, seeded, etc. And I found several nice, not too busy but still interesting ones, framed and ready to hang as well. The best part, they were having a sale on many of them. I chose one that had been marked down a considerable amount. What I paid, still over $200, was still pricy enough, but far less than what I saw online. There were many that were priced much lower. I am quite happy with my purchase, and the lady who assisted us was quite helpful in pulling out what she thought I would be interested in. It was a good experience.

She provided an estimate, advising it might change based on the final design. She was also upfront about the process and timing. She would provide some sketches and then we'd meet to select final glass elements. It was so fun going to her space and "playing" with the many elements she had pulled together. A week later it was finished. I'm thrilled with the custom piece of stained glass now hanging in my home. Mary Ann has a gift and it's quite evident she loves what she does. She was invested in ensuring I was happy with the final product. And she was very informative and transparent on the timing, process and cost.

I placed an order…read morewith them on a Friday (late morning/early afternoon) for a 3'x5' rectangular glass tabletop for a kitchen table and they told me that it would be ready for pickup on Wednesday. A majority of the conversation was done through Yelp & I called them to place my deposit. They called back a couple hours later on the same day and told me the glass was ready for pickup. We came around 4:15pm to pick up the glass before they closed at 5pm for the weekend and the whole process was so smooth! They brought out the glass for us and helped us put it into the car, and gave us the glass glue adhesives for the glass. We had an issue with the "shop polished edges" and messaged them Friday evening even though they were closed for the weekend, but they were quick to resolve the issue as soon as they opened their doors on Monday morning. I'd recommend Golden Glass for your glass needs. Communication and service was great, and their glass is great quality!
