Vickie provided a horse and carriage package for my aunt's funeral. Vickie was kind and helpful throughout the process. The carriage was beautiful and the horses handled the incline of the cemetery very well. I had told Vickie that my aunt was very glamorous and loved fashion/accessories. This past Christmas I went to downtown Riverside to check out the Festival of Lights. Upon arrival, it was magical! There were tons of lights everywhere and people being carried by horse driven carriages adorned with MORE LIGHTS! My family and I immediately thought, "WE HAVE TO TRY THAT!". While in route to the customer service desk we observed several working horses that were visibly tired, dirty, frail, and salivating profusely---I don't think that is normal. When we finally got to the desk we were greeted by a disgruntled employee who was not at all happy to serve us. We also witnessed one of the handlers punch a horse in the chest for head butting another horse....It was totally ridiculous and at that point we decided not to participate in the animal cruelty that G and F Carriages was serving up. Bottom line: It appears that G and F carriages does not take good care of their horses and the Animal Humane Society needs to step in, like YESTERDAY! They are using the horses from sun up to sun down during the festival with little to no rest. NOT OK! read more

Sent a horse for training to a carriage. I was grossly misled in pricing and not updated. When we picked him up inwas shocked of his condition. When i entrusted them with his care he didnt have a blemish on him, beautiful young Arabian stallion with no training. What i got back was a flinchy CUT UP, SCARRED UP, AND FRESH WOUNDS OOZING BLOOD. The worst wounded leg is terribly swollen. He can stand on it but cannot bear full weight to lift other hinf leg. Front leg joints also scarred and swollen. They totally ruined my horse of his beautiful future. These people donot care of the welfare of the animal. As gar as im concerned they should be in jail got animal abuse! read more

We have horses. I rarely let my kids ride in a horse-drawn carriage at a venue. I make an exception, here. George's horses are well cared for, sound, and healthy. The carriage is beautiful, and they are great with the kids. My girls are young teenagers now, and they still see the carriage at Victoria Gardens, and want to take a ride. We hired G&F Carriages to do our wedding (Bride & Father drop off AND Groom & Bride EXIT), they were hired as surprise to all of our guests & even my dad (who's wish was for me to be delivered to the isle by horse and carriage as my mom was delivered to the isle this way on their wedding day) well the ruined the surprise by parking in the main parking lot (although the driver was "told" to park there He Should Have Seen All Over My Paperwork He Was A Surprise & Asked To Move.. the wedding was on a 28 acre property.. lots of other places to park other than the MAIN PARKING LOT) The driver had difficulty getting the horse & carriage up a hill that was steeper than he thought it was going to be, so he BEAT the Horse to get her up the hill on his 2nd attempt, & on his first attempt while turning her around he KNOCKED MY MOM OVER IN HER MOTHER OF THE BRIDE DRESS, with no apology! (During our visit to the Carriage Shop to set up the Carriage, we did explain the layout of the property & advised the owner, George & for that fact the driver of the carriage was there also to go see the property as we were months ahead of the big day.. CLEARLY THEY DID NOT VISIT THE PROPERTY) After ruining the surprise for most, knocking my mother over & beating the poor horse up the hill it was time for me to enter the carriage with my dad & make my big entrance, lucky for us that was smooth, other than the look of Anger on the drivers face in every photo taken (SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT) then after dropping us off he went down to the trailer unhooked & LEFT!!! He did not wait for my Husband and I after the ceremony to drive off with him in the carriage... (ALL THOSE PHOTOS WILL BE MISSED FOREVER) Not to mention that we paid for a service and did not receive the Full Service. Sadly we called George the owner of G&F to explain all that happened, and got absolutely no where. We did discover that Buddy was the driver for the day of our wedding and that Buddy is his son, so OF COURSE none of the things I was telling him went wrong were true!
