Advice for anyone looking to acquire services with Matt Mooney/MP&D Construction solidify a commencement date and incorporate in writing the day/times you have these guys in your home. Secondly, determine the price per day/hour that Matt strings you along and make sure to deduct from total price to ensure consistent progress on the project. Day 1 - Shows up at 9am and does a solid days worth of work which led me to believe they were actually going to complete the job in two weeks as I was promised. Day 2 - Creates a sob story about paying his staff etc which I foolishly bought trusting Matt to be a man of his word. Day 3 - Starts the first and not the last day of apologies and informing me of his staff calling off because they made their money and were paid with no intentions of returning because they had no idea how to completed the work that was delegated. Day 4 - For the next 4 weeks Matt would either show up just to tell me he can't complete the electrical work and plumbing or that his staff called off. After the first week I knew I was bamboozled. I made numerous attempts to make contact with Matt and unfortunately was promised to settle for a price that he proposed which was never fulfilled. His company left me home exactly as shown in the pictures attached. Holes in the floors, malfunctioning electrical throughout numerous outlets and rooms since having them in my home, and a distasteful trust for contractors like Matt. All in all I ended up paying 2 X's the amount that I foolishly paid Matt Mooney and his gang to fix all of what they successfully dismantled in my kitchen. On numerous occasions Matt would arrive on site smelling like he just smoked marijuana en route. My husband had set up an appointment with Matt and then died two days later. I could not call and cancel because I had no idea what company was coming out.. Matt showed up and I told him to just give me the estimate since he was there(thinking I would deal with it at a later time) I received the estimate in a email a few days later and a letter from Matt saying he didn't feel right charging me for the job but would do it for free. This was something I had never experienced before , a stranger doing something so awesome for another stranger, WOW! And they did a beautiful job taking my stucco ceiling to a beautiful flat smooth ceiling. Thank you so very much Matt, Tennessee and Lori. I will then describe what constitutes earning that grade. Robert (Sales Representative): A - Very personable and efficient. He made me feel like he wanted what was best for me and took his time listening to my requests. He then took several measurements of my basement and then gave suggestions on what he would do and why to save on money and time. Drywall guy: B - Did an ok job, but I felt it could have been done in a more efficient manner. An example is after he completed hanging drywall I thought he had enough time that day to then mud and give enough time to dry before coming back the next day to sand. The earliest he showed up to work was 10:00am and some days only put in two hours and was done. He was very personable. Trim guy: A - Older gentleman with "old school" work ethics. He showed up to complete the job at 8:00 sharp. This was the earliest any of the workers showed up to complete work. He stayed until his entire job was complete. Very efficient and did excellent work. Plumber: A - Again, an older gentleman with "old school" work ethics. He had to leave a few times to get extra parts for unanticipated issues. He completed his work within a reasonable timeframe. Carpet installer: D - I was not happy with this guy. A much younger guy showed up at 11:15 to start the job. He had to leave to purchase more glue as he started with a half bucket to do an entire basement. He left the house at 7:05pm. There were many bubbles and a couple creases in the carpet after laying it. He had to come back to fix at least six areas which took another two and a half hours. Ernie Ambercrombie (Company Owner): F - Very rude and inconsiderate. He appears to have quite the temper too. The original estimate was given in February with work to start in June. The sales rep. (Robert) called in May to confirm start date. The start date was pushed back from Monday June 20th to Thursday June 23rd .It was then pushed up to Wednesday June 22nd and actual work did start then at 10:30am with the small demolition of existing drywall. He then told me it would take two weeks to complete the job. I was originally told it would take one week. The final check was given August 1st due to me being out of town for two weeks in July of which he knew was going to happen. Prior to me leaving town on July 5th, he showed up to finalize some things and get paid the balance of what was owed. I have never seen him move so fast to get things done. He was at my house four times that day to get things cleaned up due to not having necessary material to complete the job. When I mentioned the following issues: carpet, a small crack in the wall, connecting of my dryer, connecting of laundry tub, and cutting of tubes for plumbing he was a little heated. I also mentioned to Ernie, that nobody called or showed up the previous Friday. He asked me if someone was supposed to. I answered with "I don't know". That was a wasted day in which he could have been made aware of the issues. Upon his last time leaving and coming back to the house, he told me to have the final check ready for when he comes back. I paid him three quarters of what was owed on the balance due to the issues that still needed fixing. Ernie then said to me "You are just being shitty". I felt he was being very unprofessional with this comment and told him the issues need to be fixed. He repeatedly told me there was a warranty on the carpet. I then told him he would have to have the carpet guy back out after my vacation. He stated the guy would be out on Friday July 22nd. When July 22nd came around, there was no call and no show to fix the carpet issues so on Monday July 25th I stopped in to his office to inquire about when the work was going to be completed. He called a half hour later and told me it would be Tuesday the 26th between 10:00am and 12:00pm. Ernie showed up on Tuesday the 26th at 4:05pm to cut the plastic tubes. I continued to get a calls to pay the balance in full again throughout the remainder of the week. On Friday July 29th, I got a call from Ernie in which he then called me an "A-hole" and threatened to take me to court for the balance. I then told him this conversation was over and hung up on him. The drywall guy finally came on Sunday July 31st to fix the crack in the wall and I paid the balance on August 1st. Over all, I thought the work completed was ok, but many things could have been completed more efficiently. If I had to recommend this company to anyone else I would tell them to stay clear unless they like being called names and being treated with a lot of disrespect by the owner. About 5 PM i went to kitchen and turn the water on and checked under the sink water was leaking. I called right away, but this morning he testing me , when i left it was ok. Can you believe this guy. Not even 2 hrs and calling i did something. While he was doing i asked him you did not put putty, no need that wa his answer.That is the problem. Communication was on point!…read more I was super happy I didn't need to purchase any new materials - since my backing was pushing in he was able to reuse the existing tile without cracking either. My biggest fear was if mold was behind the tile - he was confident it wasn't. But of course I asked if it was and he did give me a price like I asked so I would be prepared. The work took 2 days due to drying time and he was able to work with my weird schedule as well. Definitely will use company in the future. Side note - the owner came each day to review the workers progress and the work; provided all the update information. Happy home improvement!!!

I'll need to replace the pull. - Numerous unpainted areas have been found. - So much paint on the basement door and jamb that the door doesn't close. I will need to take it off and plane the edge. - Still scraping dripped paint off of the refrigerator. - Baseboards in the kitchen are so messy I will need to sand and paint them.
