House of Guitars

This is the dirtiest, most unprofessional and downright ghetto store I have ever been in in the…read moreentire world, and that is not an exaggeration. Here's a short list of just a few things I've encountered here: -Being ignored by sales staff when trying to ask questions (multiple occasions by multiple sales people) -Being insulted by a sales person multiple times for not liking their favorite album as much as her -Getting some sort of gross grease on me from a used guitar they were trying to sell me that hadn't been cleaned -Getting denied a bag when purchasing a large number of small items such as picks and strings and whatnot. This isn't even all but its the main highlights. I should have stopped going after just a few of these but I kept being loyal to this store out of sheer stubbornness and giving them chance after chance after chance. It wasn't until they double booked me for a gig and then chose to have my gig be the one they cancelled as opposed to the other persons in spite of the fact that I had been promised priority as I had asked for it 3 months prior. This was the straw that broke the camels back and probably the most unprofessional thing I've ever had happen to me. How this store is even profitable I don't know because its being operated like a lemonade stand. I'm done with this store and am glad that I never bought any expensive gear there to help them fund their crappy operation based upon ripping off guitarists, I would have if they had trained salespeople who knew how to be professional but they ignored me each time I went in for the purpose of buying an instrument and I ended up getting a much better deal online from companies like sweetwater.com, reverb.com or guitarcenter.com which is where I recommend people go instead because this place is just awful - a perfect example of everything wrong with the music industry: complete lack of standards and only profits by screwing over already starving artists.

If the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame had a baby with a Flea Market…read more.. It's a cool store, no doubt about it! They have everything from concert tees, albums (vinyls, cassettes, cds), guitars, pedals, etc Some stuff you see in there just isn't preserved correctly though which is really sad... some stuff has been sitting in sun light so long and is so faded its heart breaking. They could definitely go through a lot of stuff to make some space in the clutter. I know that's part of the charm but it really makes it look like shit in there. I know I sound harsh but that place really is dope and is a true gem especially with the artists who have come through to take pics and play there!
