I rather pay $2.50-$4.00 a book rater than $20.00. The books are in very good condition. You can donate your books. Very close to home

Mediocre selection. Try Ricks Recycled Books or Greenwood first. Certainly not worth going out of your way for.

Four stars for the selection, but honestly I'd rate it much lower for the smell. As others have…read morementioned, this bookstore smells like smoke, and of course old books since this is a used bookstore. As someone with severe asthma, I just couldn't stay in this store for very long. Just not my cup of tea, but might be yours. They had a very large selection of a wide range of used books, and it was very well organized and pretty tidy compared to other used bookstores. This was one of my stops on the Rochester Book Crawl, so I might not have otherwise explored this shop. The bookseller was very nice and helpful.

Greenwood Books is a great local bookstore, one of the best independent ones in town (if not the…read morebest). They sell really quality literature on a variety of topics, especially music (fitting, given the nearby Eastman School of Music), and also including religion, fiction, technology and more. There's definitely a theme of rare, old, obscure and intriguing books on all subjects - the main running theme seems to be whatever is genuinely interesting, by any definition. Also, although there's no seating, I do appreciate that the place is not overly stuffed to the brim with books and doesn't feel overwhelming, but rather, pleasantly full of options to peruse and explore. The owner is always very nice; I (at least) once had a great conversation with her. I haven't bought a lot here, but I once purchased a beautiful book of Saul Steinberg's artwork for a relatively good price. It's well worth browsing the shelves here, maybe preceded or followed by a visit to Java's Café on Gibbs. Buy something if you can, and support a local treasure!

The class which the textbook was needed was canceled, so I sent a request to return the book for a refund on Sept. 10, 2012. I didn't hear back. I sent emails (through Amazon,Saveontextbook1) on 9/22, 9/26 and 10/9 asking for a reply, and I received (sent message but unrecieved...something wrong with there email) I then sent an email on 10/31, asking to please responed, and they did receive it, but still didn't respond. Finally I got Amazon involved. Amazon sent me an email on November 12th stating "Seller agreed to accept a return, but we needed to pay the shipping and Amazon included there address to return book" I sent the book to them, on November 14th with a cost of 14.00 to send it to them (cost of book was $42.85) they received the book on November 29th, and it was signed by Jackson. Still no credit to my account for returned book. Sent another email to seller on December 21st, askng for our credit. No reply! Finally, I contacted Amazon, again on Jan. 3, 2013 (4 months since I ordered the book) they are submitting an request for refund along with the tracking number of the return. Today, I finally figured out that they are not Save on Textbooks, but from entering there address, I found out that they are Rochester Textbook. When I called them, I found the gentlemen on the other end very rude, arrogant and when I explained all that I've been through he said "returns are not top priority, they don't even need to credit books back!" I told him that Amazon will be contacting them, and that I was going to write a review, he laughed and said "reviews and Amazon can't do anything!" DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ROCHESTER TEXTBOOK (ie SAVEONTEXTBOOKS1 through Amazon)

They have a great range in book selection, lots of unique bookish merch, and place emphasis on inclusivity. They have mandatory masking on Wednesdays, which I think is a great idea and is a super inclusive way to make book browsing safer. Prices are fair, and the booksellers are helpful and nice. I've had a good time during both of my visits and definitely plan to come back!

Books are arranged in a way that's interesting and flows and incorporates the other items they sell - art, incense, gems, bookmarks, tea, pins, pens, stickers, and other odds and ends. You're not going to find a deep discount on most of the items - your word discount is likely to be your best bet there - but you will find a solid selection of popular titles and off-beat titles you're likely to be able to be recommended based on interest in those popular titles. I could spend several paychecks in here at a time. Expect to spend bookstore money here but leave with things you're excited to read. The friendly readers behind the counter are going to happily discuss your purchases and help you find what you're looking for. I will be back, much to my wallet's chagrin,
