The store can easily be found by following the huge bowling sign into the plaza. I've driven past this area many times but never noticed Bookends before. I came looking for Alice in Wonderland and was not disappointed. When you first walk in, it's overwhelming with tight aisles and shelves full of books floor to ceiling ... with even more books on the floor. The owner sits by the door is friendly and helpful. He directed me to the section I need to be in. I was excited to find an annotated copy. I kept browsing to see what else there is and he also brought over a two other copies he had which I was grateful for. Prices were good and it was fun searching around for hidden treasures.

I rather pay $2.50-$4.00 a book rater than $20.00. The books are in very good condition. You can donate your books. Very close to home

Mediocre selection. Try Ricks Recycled Books or Greenwood first. Certainly not worth going out of your way for.

Four stars for the selection, but honestly I'd rate it much lower for the smell. As others have…read morementioned, this bookstore smells like smoke, and of course old books since this is a used bookstore. As someone with severe asthma, I just couldn't stay in this store for very long. Just not my cup of tea, but might be yours. They had a very large selection of a wide range of used books, and it was very well organized and pretty tidy compared to other used bookstores. This was one of my stops on the Rochester Book Crawl, so I might not have otherwise explored this shop. The bookseller was very nice and helpful.

Greenwood Books is a great local bookstore, one of the best independent ones in town (if not the…read morebest). They sell really quality literature on a variety of topics, especially music (fitting, given the nearby Eastman School of Music), and also including religion, fiction, technology and more. There's definitely a theme of rare, old, obscure and intriguing books on all subjects - the main running theme seems to be whatever is genuinely interesting, by any definition. Also, although there's no seating, I do appreciate that the place is not overly stuffed to the brim with books and doesn't feel overwhelming, but rather, pleasantly full of options to peruse and explore. The owner is always very nice; I (at least) once had a great conversation with her. I haven't bought a lot here, but I once purchased a beautiful book of Saul Steinberg's artwork for a relatively good price. It's well worth browsing the shelves here, maybe preceded or followed by a visit to Java's Café on Gibbs. Buy something if you can, and support a local treasure!

Ok I remember the original store when it was at Village Gate, than it moved over to the Main Street…read morelocation. Although smaller I think Main Street is laid out a bit better than this second location. This second location over on Jefferson. in the Tops Plaza is great as it's bigger and a lot more parking. The inside is light and bright. White walls and things are laid out but it's just at least for me not cohesive.i get it you want space for people to move around and look at crystals, books, candles and etc. But you have a grouping of crystals here and there. Don't get me wrong they have just about everything crystal you will ever need. They also have books, tarot cards, candles, incense, accessories and more. While I was looking around they were setting up for I believe tarot readings and etc. Staff is friendly and helpful. When you want to check out where do you go up front or the smaller area? This is minor but it's something that might have to be made more apparent. This is a great location as it's larger and they can do a lot with it. They also have classes and events check the website. Prices are fair for products and you can sign up for the loyalty points a plus. I'll be back. 4.5 out of 5 Shared parking

This business helps to support other small businesses with their once a month Mini Psychic fair. They also carry some products of local authors and artisans. A very warm and welcoming place for all your metaphysical needs.
