Walked in and asked the guy behind the register if he had any Prince in store. He points over to a bin where this older fella is already digging. The older fella overhears me and while still digging through the crate reaches back and says, "Here ya' go. I was thinkin bout pickin this up but it's all yours if you want it." To my surprise, it's the Dirty Mind album! I never expect to find this album anywhere so I don't even bother looking for it. As the guy behind the register was ringing me up he said someone had just brought it in earlier that morning. One of those rare, zen moments when you're looking for something and you stumble upon something more awesome than the original thing you were looking for. The inventory is really interesting and deep but it is dirty and a lot of the records are in poor condition. Again, I like to dig, but in these circumstances I don't want to pay boutique prices- they wanted $10-15 for 12" records I can get near-mint on discogs for $5. They should consider charging less considering the amount of labor they are putting on the customer. I pulled out a pile of about 20 records but put back 10 because they were scratched and skipped out on 9 more because I could get them cheaper elsewhere. Came out with one record and filthy fingers. No regrets, but I probably won't come back. Nice people though!

Stopped in here after a disappointing visit to another record store in the area…read more We were only there for a short time but a couple of observations led to my 4 star review. 1) the staff was going through a large amount of records right near the front door. I'm not saying that's a negative, it's actually quite a positive. Even through the 3 of them were going through a big collection, they still stopped to help us. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because of how I personally shop for records. I'm not what you'd call a crate digger. If you are, then you'll love this place. I know there are many, many crate diggers out there. Just wanted to mention it not being my style in case anyone else wanted to know what to expect. We picked up a couple of records while we were there, so it was a good visit. It helped make up for the other place in town that we stopped first.

The big stores like Best Buy no longer carry music show DVDs (like The Band's Last Waltz) but he's one of the few who has them. Young people should give this place a try-he has music from the 50s til now; additionally, has equipment, cabinets, and even electric guitars. He's knowledgeable, fair and approachable. He's located in the Beach Blvd Flea Market so you can also check out some awesome snacks (hot garlic peanuts) and fresh veggies, seafood, etc.

For some people that is not a huge deal (like me) but if I'm the manager or employee it will affect their bottom line from serious collectors who will just move on to other places. Their buy two get one at 75% off is huge and cuts the price down to acceptable levels to on par for about what I feel these things should sell for. The staff however are friendly and helpful which is important, but the extra things they try to sell you (magazines, loyalty cards) is a bit annoying, but I can't blame them for doing their job. As far as the other stuff, it's music, DVDs/Blu-Rays and the like so it's enjoyable enough and prices are standard mall prices (a bit higher than usual.)

It is cool that an actual CD store still exists, but I don't come in here to look at the CDs. If there's a CD I ever want to purchase, I do it at Best Buy so I can get my points and they price match. What's really cool are all the albums they have. I love looking through those. I have even contemplated buying a turntable so I can listen to albums again. But, if I ever do, it will probably do nothing more than sit and collect dust because I do love the crystal clear sound we have nowadays. I can't see spending money on something that will more than likely just end up being a dust collector. Nonetheless, I enjoy purusing the albums. The novelty items are what always bring me in here to have a look around. They carry things from all the latest fads like Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games, etc. I've even seen a life-sized E.T. here before... very cool! They also have some really cool posters. They have headphones, phone chargers, chargers to charge your devices if they are on the verge of dying (I'm still not sure what those things are called), and other electronic items.
