Customer service isn't that hard but it's clear from your reply that you have absolutely no idea what the term "customer service". This was my first time visiting this record store, but not my last! They have a tooooonn of new and used records, cds, and tapes. Everything was in alphabetical order by genres. Super easy to search for favorite artists. I had no idea what I would be purchasing but I knew at least one purchase needed to happen. I looked all over and gravitated to the jazz and film soudtrack binds. I found a really unique find for a great pricee Alfred Hitchcock's Presents Music to be Murdered By...I loooove it sooo much! Along w the music,, you have electronics such as record players at great prices too and they also had store merch available for purchase. So worth it to go and support local record stores. read more

Top notch record store with a HUGE selection of vinyl, cassettes and more. All the genres are covered, and cleaning kits and other items. Great staff, helpful and personable. It's tucked away but when you are a music buff you make sure to find what you need. My son is an avid crate digger and this is his home away from home when he visits the area. This trip we had to come here 2x. What's funny is that they randomly also sell bottles of cold brew coffee lol. To keep you fueled while you dig? It's a cool spot. read more

I'm very new to vinyl and have just started my collection. I'm starting with the albums I used to listen to as a kid. I was expecting some kind of John Cusak nose in the air "High Fidelity" kind of place where I get judged and sneered at because I wasn't exclusively browsing the indy section but I was pleasantly surprised that this scenario in my head couldn't be farther from the truth. They were incredibly friendly and their prices were far better than I expected. I will be back again and again. read more

We went in last week during nights of lights. We were happy to see a record store. I was shocked when I found an album pulled it out thinking 10$ was a steel as it was old. Well I was wrong. It was full of scratches. Are they crazy. I go to tons of thrift stores yard sales and even other record stores, and no scratches on any of those. These weren't dollar records. Which I expect to be scratched. You can't sell scratched records at that price. I even looked at other records to make sure it was not just that one, over half at those prices were scratched. Didn't browse the used sections long enough to compare prices but we picked up 4 new albums while visiting. The staff was friendly. We later checked the prices on our selections and they were average to a few bucks overpriced but we're good supporting local businesses and enjoying ourselves browsing while on vacation. read more

This was only the second time I've been to this shop, and it's a great improvement. The floor layout has changed and it appears the stock levels have really gone up. The best part is the selection of 90's alternative from Pearl Jam to Primal Scream. Small but solid selection of cassettes and Cd's and a good mix of new and used vinyl. The only knock is that what is listed online is not necessarily in stock in the store. And sometimes the some of the staff doesn't know the inventory in store. I know I'm being a typical record store snob, but I've worked in several record shops over the years and if you don't know your stock your loosing money... Though I did spend close to a $150 that could have easily been 3x that. I'll be back for sure. I hope everyone in NE Florida gives this place a try and support! read more

This place is pretty hard to get to and hard to find. St. Augustine is generally a freakshow when it comes to trying to find parking and traverse seas of pedestrian tourists. Not only that, I knew how big TV's inventory was prior to my first visit so I expected it to be larger. In fact, the store is tiny. It's in this little cube box room thing. But dude, they have so much stuff here. And it's all good stuff. They order relevant music like no one else in town. In fact, I always leave with something I wanted. I often have trouble choosing records to buy. Tonevendor started off as an online retailer, and the benefit of this is that they have a website set up that catalogs all of their stock. You can essentially plan what you're gonna buy, which has been really helpful for me since I live about 40 minutes away from central St. Aug. read more

Ultra clean and modern record store. Huge selection esp for Indie fans. In Soul/Jazz/Reggae, there were fewer records but all were top quality artists. I had no problem finding two nice additions to my collection. Decent hifi playing vinyl too...nice. read more

Indeed, Tonevendor has a varied selection and is nicely set up for being in a smaller space. However, their customer service is lacking. The only acknowledgement I got was when I first came in. I was the only customer in the store with, assumingly, 3 employees (or 2 employees + one of their friends, hard to tell when he was playing an arcade game the entire time). They preferred talking to eachother the entire time and treating me as if I was a nuisance. They had some nice prices, but I decided to pass since I felt uncomfortable. I'll give this place one more shot when I am back in St. Augustine. I am hoping this was just an off day due to it being slow. read more

They have a great selection, they're always friendly and helpful and I'm honestly so sad I don't have a place with quite the selection and atmosphere up in Jacksonville. I buy a lot of vinyl on the internet but Dan and the crew at Tonevendor surpass them all. I just got another shipment of rare vinyl and both records are quiet as a church and flat as a pancake. If you can possibly find what you want at Tonevendor they should be your "go to" merchant. I have dealt with some great used vinyl sellers on the internet, but when it comes to new music (especially on vinyl) they are not just among the best, they ARE the best. Period! In over 100 transactions I have never received an item from them that was less than perfect. Shipping is ultra fast even though they use USPS and packaging is luxurious. Ok so every city we visit I track down stores that sell old vinyl records. In St Augustine I checked out Tonevendor records on King Street. A little hard to find but worth it. Nice clean store, well organized and not pricey. Good value on old vinyl and the record conditions of the ones I purchased were excellent. An old Coasters album was 5 bucks, tens tears after cricklewood green was 10 bucks and looked like it was never played. I purchased 5 albums and a t shirt for 50 bucks. If there is a drawback and I say if it is while they have allot of stock, old favorites like Motown stuff and compilation albums like cruisin or soundtrack stuff like James Bond movies is missing. Now this could be based on their clientele so I still give them a 5 star rating. A young man named Tom was working and he was helpful and friendly. The owner has done a great job and this is one of the better stores I have been in and I have been in many old vinyl record stores. read more

Great record store!! I'm not a vinyl enthusiast but I do like to buy records every now and then and they have a great selection! I would honestly rather drive 40 minutes to St. Augustine to go here than go to any record store in Jacksonville, and that's mainly because the customer service is great!
