Interesting store. I like to dig, and this is a digger's store- crazy piles of stuff everywhere. If you want to browse you will need to move boxes to get to stuff. The inventory is really interesting and deep but it is dirty and a lot of the records are in poor condition. Again, I like to dig, but in these circumstances I don't want to pay boutique prices- they wanted $10-15 for 12" records I can get near-mint on discogs for $5. They should consider charging less considering the amount of labor they are putting on the customer. I pulled out a pile of about 20 records but put back 10 because they were scratched and skipped out on 9 more because I could get them cheaper elsewhere. Came out with one record and filthy fingers. No regrets, but I probably won't come back. Nice people though! read more

I mean no disrespect to the owners of this establishment but genuinely this business is a safety hazard for customers and employees alike. I was only able to be in the space about 5 minutes before I felt too claustrophobic and had to leave. There are thousands and thousands of records, cassettes, 8 tracks, CDs, and audio equipment everywhere in this store however - almost like a hoarder house there are pathways carved out of these records and you have to one foot in front of the other carefully walk through without tripping. In the case of an emergency (god forbid) I wouldn't want customer or employee alike to be placed in a bad situation because of how unmanaged and chaotic this establishment is. read more

Nice stock - AWFUL shopping experience. It's in a rough part of town. We went in and couldn't even walk around. The store is absolutely trashed. There are stacks and stacks of awesome records that are just purely inaccessible. They've been there for a number of years and seem to have a good reputation somehow in the community. But honestly, I couldn't find anything there. You run into gems here and there but it looks like a show of hoarders. The owners were nice. They were there and listening to a preaching which was nice. I'm not even sure how checkout would work. Good luck if you try to shop. read more

This place is really cool. It has a lot of rare and hard to find albums. Specializes in R&B, jazz, rock. Also has hard to find movies.

Cannot rate the store itself but I can tell you they need to train whoever answers their phone... I called the store to get a recommendation or some advice about selling or restoring some LP's from the 60's and 70's The guy who answered basically said 'I don't know; we don't buy 'em" then he just hung up! Just that makes me not want to visit that store. Call me old school, but I believe there should be some decorum of acceptable customer service and politeness! read more

I'm not sure if there hidden gems in here, but it is so overcrowded it's impossible to tell. And by overcrowded I mean can't walk down the aisle overcrowded. I went through the "rock" section and there is a nice variety of music, mostly from the 70's and 80's. There is however an extensive soul section with some great titles to be found. There are definitely some odd-ball things like new copies of Pink Floyd Darkside in a pile on what used to be the counter or a Michael Jackson LP Boxset for $200. Then there are the random titles priced like mint condition collectors items, which I'm ok with, but more care needs to be placed if you are charging top dollar and the records need to be in great shape, not just "playable". Honestly, I would love to spend a couple of weeks organizing this place. The record store employee gremlins in my mind went nuts! There is a ton of potential with this shop, but it definitely needs a lot of work... read more

48 Years in the SAME LOCATION. Original owner! Yes, the city has ceased putting money into restructuring this historic community (LACKAWANNA). But just because this business is in an economically spiraling location doesn't make it rough... The doors are wide open and the owner is welcoming. There is never anyone impeding entry or exiting. Filthy (dust covered records), not very clean, don't even want to know what the bathroom could look like (no light bulb), overpriced mostly, poor area of town. Owner is super nice and has been in business a looong time, but it is not as good as it could be or should be to me. read more

Extremely overpriced, totally unorganized, and poorly cared for vinyl. Most were really trashed out records that had to have come from local Goodwills. As soon as I walked in I was told where the rock music was (racial profiling since I was a white in an all black shop??), which I wasn't even looking for. After searching for over an hour through a gigantic mess of unorganized records, I found six records that were all $3.00 or less online, but somehow the woman behind the counter said they would be $10 each, so she wanted $60! $60 for records covered in dust and jackets that were ripped up, scuffed, scratched, stickered, and had heat and/or water damage warping?!
