It seems as though for some collectibles they just go on eBay and see what it sells for in order to price the items, which is unfortunate because some items are priced WAY above what they should be. Considering that there aren't a lot of brick and mortar shops around here for collectibles, and retro games, you're left with either scouring the interwebs for what you're looking for, or pay the Disc Replay price. All in all, maybe retro 90's merch trends will die down so that the prices will go down, but not likely any time soon.

On the right side are the more popular records that range from $20+ (also have plastic covers) and the CD selection. The guy that owns the store is very friendly. He was telling me that he has been at the location for about 8-9 years. What's really nice is that he looks at each record and cleaned them on this cool machine. Made the records look like new! The owner has an encyclopedic knowledge of music and every record in the shop. I hit him with an old 60s title, looking for the original label, and he walked straight to a stack of records in the front of the shop, flipped through the stack and pulled out an album I've been hunting for across Indiana for over a year. And I got an incredible price, which is important, because this guy is not a price gouger! He actually wants people to get deals on their music -- not greedy like many places we've been to in a 200-mile radius. The opposite, in fact. Make a point of stopping here and spending some time. They were able to use some CDs and offered me $12 cash OR $15 store credit. I chose cash. It was a nice exchange. The 2nd time I came I was not so lucky but it's fine. There were quite a few people there both times. I did not get any pics inside, but the new location is quite convenient, just a walk-in on Wabash. The store is extremely big, the service was quick and things were easy to find utilizing the store website, reckless.com. The prices were pretty average, around $15 for a new CD and $30 for vinyl. I didn't check the prices for cassettes, but I'm sure they were great. They also had posters of popular albums, featuring art from various artists. They also had used console games, for Xbox One, PS4, retro Nintendo consoles, and I even saw a few SEGA Dreamcast games! This place is nothing short of heaven for music lovers!

The day I stopped in, I purchased what was labeled as a 1968 "Near Mint" copy of Days of Future Passed by The Moody Blues. When I got home, I discovered significant noise throughout the first third of Side A. Since I live in the suburbs, I wasn't able to get back into the city for two weeks. They did take the record back, but because their return policy is only one week, they would only offer store credit rather than a refund. They took the record back, and I found a "Near Mint" copy of the 2012 remaster of The Beatles' White Album. The label specifically stated "w/ poster & photos." I even asked an employee about it before purchasing it, and they confirmed that the poster and photos were included. Sure enough, I got home, opened it, and neither the poster nor the photos were there. Needless to say, I'll be returning this record, and I won't be coming back. Two purchases, two significant issues with the condition or contents being inaccurately represented.
