I will start off saying that I love FYE as a whole. It's just unfortunate that they hire such rude and disrespectful employees. I have shopped at this store for over twenty years ( back when it was called Camelot Music) and have spent A LOT of money as well. I am also a member of their customer perk program (FYE Backstage Pass VIP) which I pay $12.99 a month for (this is how much I shop at this store). After my experience yesterday, Saturday, October 20th, 2018, with Whitney, I will never be shopping at this location again. Unfortunately this is only one of two locations in Florida so I will also be cancelling my VIP membership. So, the story goes, every time you make a purchase you get a receipt with a request to take a survey for 20% off a single item on your next purchase. The receipt prompts you to go to www.surveymonkey.com/r/2018fye and complete a quick survey. Once the survey is finished it pops up with a coupon and and prompts you to take a screenshot of the coupon. So, naturally, every time I make a purchase I take the survey. I have noticed that if you try taking the survey multiple times too close together (I've made several purchases in one day before) that it will not allow you to and the website will tell you to come back later thus not allowing the customer exploit the system and stack up coupons. Another point is that the coupons have a good by start and expiration date and a barcode with 5 - digit code. Every time I receive a coupon within a specific good by date block, it gives the same barcode and 5 - digit code. So, back to yesterday's experience with Whitney; as I was purchasing over $80 worth of stuff, I pulled up my coupon for her to apply to my purchase. She than says (with other customers all around) "I'll do this for you one last time, but next time you need to show me a date next to the coupon or a different 5 - digit code" (implying that I am somehow cheating or exploding their system in an extremely accusatory tone and rude manor that completely caught me off guard and embarrassed me to no end.). I tried explaining to her how the coupons work with the expiration dates and the codes and she just kept telling me (in that same accusatory tone) that I needed to prove it was valid by showing a date on the next coupon or she wouldn't accept it. Being a member of their VIP membership, every time I make a purchase they look me up by my email address and when they scan the code their system accepts the coupon. If FYE doesn't want you to use their coupons then they need to stop making them available or train their employees to not lecture or accuse the consumer for using them. One last thing to mention, I was not using multiple coupons in one day. I was simply using a single coupon for one transaction for one day. All this being said I will never shop at this FYE again and I am canceling my VIP membership. read more
