Live in Salmon, Idaho. Online Gamer. Landlady has Fibercon at my current residence. Reccomended internet in Salmon for gamers Custertel greater than Trash greater than Centurylink = Fibercom. Value: Overpriced, Terrible contract fee $200-250 Quality: Dismal, Packet loss, and Speeds. They constantly reminded me that we are in an unbreakable contract despite having terrible service as another reviewer stated. Service Request: Extremely slow, Technican took close to a month to arrive. Lives 3hrs away. Summary: It was so bad I got a 2nd Internet that works (Custertel) Tech cut my 2nd working internet line and left while packet loss was still an issue. Speeds: Current plan 40 mbps. Speeds as low as 1mbps or less more than once. Often 10 or less. Very often less than 20. Unusable during peak times for multiple months. Called and complained in Sept / Oct. Speed was made better but not fixed until December. Packet loss: At the start of December I started getting packet loss. I was kicked or lagged out of games HUNDREDS of times. Yes hundreds. Up to 90% on tests with many saying 100% or failing on multiple websites. Commonly had 30% throughout an entire day. Sometimes it would get better. Sometimes not. This made gaming impossible. I had 20 something dcs In an hour at one point. There were times I could not even play at all or even get online. Could not watch netflix, download movies, or even watch youtube the packet loss was so bad. I got a tech scheduled 2 weeks. I waited on the scheduled day got off work early. He didn't show up until late and said he did not want to go on the roof in the dark and snow so I said fair enough. I called their tech support again saying the issue had not been solved and I would give them another chance. He said 4 days he would come back. He was sick. He said he would come the day before Christmas Eve. He did not show up. So I wasted hours of 3 days waiting for a tech that didn't do anything. The most frustrating technican I have ever experienced in person: The tech randomly showed up on a Saturday after I had gotten a new ISP after waiting for over 3 weeks for a tech to show up. I told him I got a new ISP he kept guilting me about the contract my landlady was in with them very abrasive, awkward and hard to talk to. I said go ahead and fix your internet I'll give it a try but I am going to switch over to Custertel and I want you to leave their stuff alone I am using it and it is working perfectly and I am finally able to enjoy my games. He worked for 5 hours and at the end of it he CUT THE OTHER LINE AFTER I EXPLICITLY TOLD HIM I WAS USING IT. I was extremely upset. He seemed proud of himself that he had fixed the problem and did nothing to console me. I had put my hands on my head and said the f word looking at the cut cable. I asked him to fix it and he said he could not. I then ran tests on the "fixed" internet the speeds were fine but the packet loss tests were 20% and 15% over a 6 minute period and I asked him to look. He said it would go away and left. IT HAS NOT GOTTEN BETTER. I HAVE CONSTANT 1-5% PACKET LOSS / LATE PACKETS. THE SPEEDS DO NOT MATTER IF YOU HAVE PACKET LOSS AND LATE PACKETS. An internet technician should know this. I like to play competitive shooters online. I have constant tiny lag spikes every 10 seconds. It ruins the fun for me. I am uploading 100 of the snips I took of speed tests and packet loss tests right after DCing in games or not even being able to connect. Sometimes just a single packet missed on cmd prompt and I would be kicked from the game, mess up streaming movie, or cancel a download. Only positive experience I had was talking to people on the phone. They seemed like they wanted to help and emailed me and had me send them results. Unfortunately it took 40m-1hr to get ahold of them. Overall the experience was extremely frustrating and I wasted A LOT OF TIME. I would like to personally thank the tech for ruining my internet for the remainder of the holidays and ensuring I could not play games during my time off! THANK YOU! Their packet loss test look like a seismograph of a magnitude 10 earthquake. If only their internet was as consistent as their bills. Attached photos of speedtests, command prompt packet loss tests, and packet loss tests. Most times I got a packet loss on the command prompt I would be dced from the games and streaming services would stop. This is a serious problem. Compare to Custertel, 1 month free money back guarantee. Technicans came out next day fixed problems. Contract penalty 1/10th the price. The 3 days I had this, no lag, no dcs, faster than expected speeds. Had custertel for over 2 years before that. They had an outage for a week and didn't bill me. Techs came until it was fixed. Local people. Fibercom better give me give me months of no pay, let me out of their contract or fix their damn internet. I am absolutely livid. read more

FyberCom is by far the best Internet Company in Idaho. When I first moved to Idaho I had Centurylink, needless to say, that didn't last. I then signed up for Cable One now Sparklight and it worked okay until it didn't. I signed up for FiyberCom wireless service about 5 years ago and have had the best experience I have ever had with an internet company. By far they are better than Comcast and Verizon Fios which I have had as well. I did have 2 instances where I experienced issues, one the wind moved my receiver on the roof and the second one I some how reset my router. Both times their customer service Reps were extremely helpful. I even went into the office one day and the owner personally came out and introduced himself and thanked me for supporting them. That meant a lot to me. Just last week FyberCom installed Fiber to my home here outside of Iona. I have never seen such fast speeds. On the speed tests that I have done I see well over 980Mbps Down and up. To see that on the upload is so cool! I would highly recommend FyberCom and their service. read more

FyberCom started running fiber in my neighborhood this last week, I was very concerned at first because my neighbors started freeking out on Facebook and posting upsetting things about FC adding BIG boxes in the yards. I started to get worked up and even told my husband that I wanted him to call them and talk to them about the boxes they were installing in everyone's yards. He ended up calling their office to express our concerns. One of the owners, ended up talking with him and even came to our home and walked us through the process. He was very professional and kind, I need to add this because others in our neighborhood were very rude to him and his employees. I was very impressed, as he discussed how it worked and showed us what they were installing our concerns immediately dissolved. We are excited to sign up with this company and finally get fiber internet. I would have given a better rating but I want to wait until I have their service before I do. read more

Fybercom is TERRIBLE to deal with! In my moving the salon saga.... I called in mid December about moving. The soonest they could set up an appointment was January 6th. I agreed, because I had to. Then I found out the new service in my current location would interfere with the existing service in the building. Sooooo.... the new landlord won't let me transfer my service. The Crappy part, you ask? I am under a contract. So Fybercom does not want to let me out of my contract through April 17th! They said I could save $50 if I return the satelite that is on top of the other building. I get contracts! BUT....some human decency would be appreciated! I did not simply want to end my service! I was forced out of my location. Now the new landlord won't allow the service. I even attached the email informing me I had to leave my location. But, yes! Make me pay the nearly $100 a month for 4 months that I won't be able to use! Some people really STINK!!!! read more

Yesterday, Fybercom laid fiber internet near my home. That morning about 7:45am, there were eight workers out on the street. It was quite a sight to see them digging approximately 20 holes up and down the road. To be honest, I was somewhat anxious about the potential mess. I headed to work expecting to return to a disrupted yard. To my surprise, everything was neat and tidy. It was as if they had never been there. I'm genuinely impressed with the seamless process. I contacted their office this morning to confirm if they had finished and to understand the next steps. They informed me that the fiber installation would be available for my home in the next week or two. I'm looking forward to getting Fybercom. The pricing seems fair. Currently, I pay a similar amount for CenturyLink, but the speed is lacking. I'm hopeful that Fybercom's service will live up to its reputation. read more

I signed up with FyberCom almost 6 months ago. Up to this point it has been very good. Very reliable, very fast, and the customer support has by far been better than CenturyLink ever was when the technician came to my home, he went above and beyond helping me get my Velop routers to all connect. It was quite the ordeal. The router required an update that took 20 minutes and the technician went out of his way to stay and make sure that it was set up before he left. The price is good for what I get I live just outside of Idaho Falls and I've had a hard time finding good Internet over the years, they recently ran Fiber down my road to Goshen. I was lucky enough to be one of the houses that they passed. I've seen amazing speeds, low latency, and zero buffering since I've had their service. read more

Fybercom recently ran fiber optic lines through my neighborhood. When I started up my sprinkler system for the year I discovered they had broken one of my sprinkler lines. I contacted them to let them know. Kenna and Cody were fantastic to work with. They made sure all the damage was fixed and my yard was put back to normal. FyberCom is a great local company I had Century Link for 10 years and they do not care if your internet is slow or if there is an outage. FyberCom has local support that is not overseas. They genuinely care about your experience. My wife and I have not had any issues since we started using them.
