I was a Digis Internet customer until a reasonable competitor came to my neighborhood. For a some…read moretime, Digis was the only reasonable available Internet service in my neighborhood. I was told by the technician who installed my service that the 5Mb service was the maximum speed available for my area. During my time as a customer, I was lucky to receive 1-2Mb service on average, far below the claimed amount I was paying for. (These numbers were gathered using Speedtest.net to verify the connection speed.) Shortly after I switched to a local competitor, my service with the new company was shut down for nearly two weeks. I was told by the competitor to Digis that Digis had disputed their use of a wireless tower and threatened legal action to prevent competition from them in that area. I contacted Digis about this and had a less then pleasant conversation with them. I was frustrated with the my perceived lack of their professionalism and the insulting nature by which I felt I was treated on the phone. The competing service ended up building a new network to get around Digis's perceived unfair business practices. I now get a 20Mb connection for around $10 per month more than I was spending with Digis of Idaho. In my opinion, if I had a choice between Digis and getting punched in the face, I think I would choose the pain of being punched in the face than dealing with a company who I think may be unethical. From Digis competitor's Facebook page: Dear customers in the Shelly area, do to unforeseen circumstances with one of our competitors, our Taylor mountain tower has temporarily gone dark.
