I like that they have the traditional Chinese food along with the Americanized version as well. The restaurant is small but the one time I went in to eat it was busy with people coming in to pick up their food and the tables being occupied. I will come back to dine in or for a Togo order.

In the spirit of being fair we gave this place two tries.... Been here twice. Every single time Service has been good and food comes out fast. Waitresses are always friendly. Place is fairly new so it's still clean . We just don't Like the food here. Though it was " they are overwhelmed with the grand opening " but it wasn't . We don't know what it is but None of us like it.

Ordered Uber Eats here for Valentine's Day. Never had Chinese food this bad, it was gross. The Egg roll had little flavor and was spongy. The pad Thai sauce was just gross and had spongy meat. The pepper steak sauce was good but again, the meat was spongy and lacked flavor. The fried dumplings lacked flavor and was spongy. Not sure why this place has such good reviews. My boyfriend took a bite of the eggroll and immediately spit it out. Avoid this place and go somewhere else!

Decor was clean and seats are super comfy. Workers were really friendly. We may have order too much but everything was soooo delicious. Strings beans cook to perfection. Crunchy yet soft. Fried rice had a little of everything. Walnut shrimp was flavor very well. Usually we scrape off the sauce but it was not strong and yet tasty. Hot and sour soup was comforting and warm up my stomach. We will be back for sure!

Food was amazing! Excellent service & comfortable indoor seating. The basil chicken!!! Mongolian chicken!!! We will be back to try more menu items. Nice local business worth supporting!!!! Highly recommend.

Stopped in on a whim. We were pleasantly surprised by this place. Small, clean and friendly. Variety of hot tea choices which is a good thing! The food was delicious. I tried three different varieties of the dim sum and it was delicious. The soup dumplings with that pop of broth just hits! Spicy is my thing while the wife is not. Her Szechuan chicken was a bit spicy for her but perfect for me. I like it when spicy doesn't overpower the flavor. This was perfect. Waitstaff was very pleasant and helpful. I was very happy to see a more authentic choice in the area without having to go to Chinatown. Give this place a try and you won't be disappointed

I was introduced to Fuya by my friend Troy. It didn't disappoint. Food is great, and at a nice price point. The establishment has been very quiet when I've been in (around 7pmish). Very clean, and well lit. Service Staff doesn't take long to arrive at your table with menus and the customary ask for if you'd like water. Your order is normally arriving around 15 minutes.

Beef fried rice

Very very good food. With so many similar options in the area to choose from this place gets it right. Everything tasted so good. Fresh not overly greasy. perfectly seasoned and the portions are great for the price. Definitely will return.

Pad Thai

I ordered through Uber Eats and would recommend avoiding the Pad Thai from this location. The dish was very subpar, with an overwhelming amount of noodles that made the sauce-to-noodle ratio unbalanced and the flavor bland. I've had better Pad Thai elsewhere with more flavorful sauce and perfectly cooked noodles for the same price.

The lunch special is a real value given the quality of food. Great big hunks of breaded chicken swimming in really terrific sauce with very fresh produce. The noodles were chewy and delicious. Attentive and helpful staff. We will definitely be back.

Szechuan Spice is a solid go-to for quick, flavorful Chinese food in the Houston/Pearland area…read more Customer service stood out right away the host was very welcoming, patient, and took the time to answer all of our questions. Since we ordered takeout, they even offered us a place to sit while we waited, which I appreciated. Here's what we ordered: * House Lo Mein - $14.99 * Stir-Fry Flat Noodles w/ Beef - $13.99 * Sweet & Sour Pork - $15.99 * Crab Cheese Puffs - $5.59 Total came out to about $54.74, which is pretty reasonable for the portion sizes and variety. The food overall was flavorful and fresh. The noodles were cooked well and had a nice balance of sauce without being too heavy. The sweet & sour pork had that classic crispy texture with a bold sauce. The crab cheese puffs were decent crispy on the outside and creamy inside but I do wish they had a little more crab flavor to really elevate them. One small detail I loved: the to-go bags. They were sturdy, well-designed, and matched the restaurant's aesthetic definitely gives that extra polished touch. Overall: Great service, solid food, and good value. Perfect for a casual takeout spot when you want something quick but still quality.

UPDATE: The star of…read morethe menu is the boiled fish! Always numbing and tender pieces of fish. The spicy cubes chicken was crisp and tasty. The green beans were as expected. We ordered two of the sweet & sour ribs. Always goes so well with rice. The shrimp were exceptional - big, pump, tender and full of flavor! The only issue was the amount of oil used, even after we asked for less oil. I guess they need lots of oil to make Sichuan dishes. Our son came home after a big Cantonese dinner in Chinatown and tried the shrimp, then the other dishes. He couldn't stop from having a little second meal! Said the dishes were really good. We must have picked a good combination of dishes as I loved this meal!

OVERVIEW: this is a homey small restaurant. It is simple, cozy but spacious enough to feel relaxed…read more FOOD QUALITY: Not very convincing. Very heavy handed with salt even though the person in my party that placed the order specifically told the waitress to tone down on the salt. We also asked for no MSG but they turned to sugar instead so the dishes were a little altered beyond recognition. Specifically, I ordered their Szechuan peppercorn beef. As far as I know, this dish is always all savory and there should not be any sweetness. But, when I took the first bite, it was mildly sweet. Weird! Looks like for the rest of the dishes that has sauce, they used the same dark colored sauce; so, they tasted the same. Not a lot of imagination and creativity in their cooking. SERVICE: They are quite attentive in this area. So, I would give them 4 out of 5 stars in this area. VERDICT: Would I return? Probably not. When it comes to Chinese foods, the dishes need to be superior in their taste. You really need to have skills to survive as a Chinese restaurant.

Their service was great, and their extensive menu made it hard to decide what to order! But overall, I didn't feel like being too adventurous, so I ordered the usual: 1) Mapo Tofu: (4.5/5) Pretty tasty! There was definitely a numbing spice, but PERSONALLY not a fan of the addition of ginger, but this is purely personal preference, but something to keep in mind if it's not your favorite ingredient. 2) Eggplants in Spicy Garlic Sauce: (5/5) chefs kiss, you can't go wrong with this. Maybe the Montrose and Bellaire location prepare it a bit differently, but I felt that the Bellaire location did not skimp out on the garlic pieces; I also don't think the dish was very spicy, however. 3) Spicy and Crispy Chicken: (5/5) There's not much to say, but this is another classic that you can't mess up! There are several other dishes that I look forward to trying, and definitely think Mala is one of the best Sichuan places in the area!

The food came out quickly and everything we tried was delicious. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. It was extremely busy and it seemed like there were only two servers handling the entire floor. If you didn't ask for what you needed when they initially came by, it was very difficult to get anyone's attention afterward. We had quite a bit of leftovers and couldn't get anyone to come over for to-go boxes or the check I ended up having to go to the front to ask. Overall, great food and a good experience, but they definitely need more staff if it's consistently this busy.

On my most recent visit we ordered mapo tofu with pork intestines off the specials menu - a hybrid of two of my favorite Sichuan-style dishes. The blend of bouncy, savory morsels amidst tender, saucy tofu was at once revolutionary and so obvious; why hadn't I yet seen this at any other restaurant? And sure, innards may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's important for you to know that none of my past orders from the 50+ item menu have ever failed me, whether enjoyed in the restaurant or at home. Maybe you'd prefer the aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced three-cup chicken? Or the sweet-skinned duck, glazed so delicately that specks of sugar crystal threaten to jump off onto the plate as you pick up a juicy slice with your chopsticks? And if you're vegetarian, might you consider the punchy garlic eggplant or the wok-kissed string beans? I could go on. Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself, though I'd recommend parallel parking on the neighborhood streets behind the restaurant rather than the rocky parking lot, to save you some trouble. Bring friends and chow down family style - you'll need help covering as much of the menu as you can, but you'll definitely have to come back to try everything.
